Then there is no prayer until the sun sets." He said, "When you wash your face, your sins come out from your face. When you wash your hands, your sins come out from your hands. And when you wash your feet, your sins come out from your feet."

قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ اللَّيْلِ أَسْمَعُ؟ قَالَ: «جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرِ». قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ مَقْبُولَةٌ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى الْفَجْرُ، ثُمَّ لَا صَلَاةَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ الشَّمْسُ قِيدَ رُمْحٍ أَوْ رُمْحَيْنِ، ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ مَقْبُولَةٌ حَتَّى يَقُومَ الظِّلُّ قِيَامَ الرُّمْحِ، ثُمَّ لَا صَلَاةَ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ مَقْبُولَةٌ حَتَّى تَكُونَ الشَّمْسُ قِيدَ رُمْحٍ أَوْ رُمْحَيْنِ، ثُمَّ لَا صَلَاةَ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ». قَالَ: «إِذَا غَسَلْتَ وَجْهَكَ خَرَجَتْ خَطَايَاكَ مِنْ وَجْهِكَ، وَإِذَا غَسَلْتَ يَدَيْكَ خَرَجَتْ خَطَايَاكَ مِنْ يَدَيْكَ، وَإِذَا غَسَلْتَ رِجْلَيْكَ خَرَجَتْ خَطَايَاكَ مِنْ رِجْلَيْكَ».
