[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ , an elderly man leaning on a staff. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed betrayals and transgressions. Will they be forgiven for me?" The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you testify that there is no deity but Allah?" The man replied, "Yes, and I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your betrayals and transgressions have been forgiven."

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at 'Ukaz, and I asked him, "Who is following you in this matter?" He replied, "A free man and a slave, Abu Bakr and Bilal." He asked me to return until Allah makes it easy for His Messenger, so I came to him afterwards and said, "O Messenger of Allah, may Allah make me a ransom for you! There is something that I know and you do not, it does not harm you, and Allah benefits me with it. Is there any hour that is better than another hour? And is there any hour in which one should be cautious?" He said, "You have asked me about something which no one before you has asked me. Allah descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of the night and forgives all sins except for shirk and acts of disobedience. The prayer is witnessed and prohibited. Pray until the sun rises, then refrain from prayers, for it rises between the horns of Satan, and this is the prayer of the disbelievers. When the sun has risen, pray, for the prayer is witnessed and prohibited until the day becomes equal to the night. When the day becomes equal to the night, shorten your prayers, for they are hours when Hellfire is kindled. When the sun declines, pray, for the prayer is witnessed and prohibited until the sun sets. When the sun sets, shorten your prayers, for it sets between the horns of Satan, and this is the prayer of the disbelievers."

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "Who follows you in your commands?" He replied, "Free people and slaves," meaning Abu Bakr and Bilal. And Umar used to say after that, "Indeed, I have seen myself as the fourth pillar of Islam."

ahmad:19435Ibn Numayr > Ḥajjāj / Ibn Dīnār > Muḥammad b. Dhakwān > Shahr b. Ḥawshab > ʿAmr b. ʿAbasah

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is with you in this matter?" He said, "Free men and slaves." I said, "What is Islam?" He said, "Good words and feeding others." I said, "What is faith?" He said, "Patience and tolerance." I said, "Which aspect of Islam is best?" He said, "One who Muslims are safe from his tongue and hand." I said, "Which aspect of faith is best?" He said, "Good character." I said, "Which prayer is best?" He said, "Long standing in prayer." I said, "Which migration is best?" He said, "To abandon what your Lord dislikes." I said, "Which jihad is best?" He said, "To fight in the way of Allah with your wealth and your life." I said, "Which hours of the day are best?" He said, "The last part of the night, then the witnessed prayer until the dawn rises. When the dawn comes, there is no prayer except two units until you pray the Fajr prayer. When you have prayed the Fajr prayer, refrain from praying until the sun has risen. When the sun rises, it rises between the two horns of Satan, and the disbelievers prostrate to it. Refrain from praying until it has risen high. When it becomes high, pray, for the prayer is witnessed until the shadow of a spear's length has passed. When the shadow has passed, refrain from praying, for the prayer is witnessed until the sun has set. When it has set, refrain from praying, for it sets or disappears between the two horns of Satan, and the disbelievers prostrate to it."

[Machine] There was a covenant between Muawiyah and a group of people from the Romans. Muawiyah went out and started walking in their land until they violated the covenant, so he changed his attitude towards them. Then a man called out among the people, saying, "Verily, it is fidelity, not treachery!" It was Amr ibn Abasa, who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, 'Whoever has a covenant with a people, should not tighten its knot, nor undo it until its appointed time is concluded or he breaks it equally with them.'"

[Machine] Narrated a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that contains no sarcasm or misconception. He said, "Whoever has three children born to him in Islam and they die before reaching the age of puberty, Allah will admit him to Paradise by His mercy. And whoever grows gray hair in the path of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever throws an arrow in the path of Allah, whether it hits or misses, it will be for him as if he had set free a neck from slavery. And whoever sets free a believing slave, Allah will set free for every limb of the slave a limb from the Fire. And whoever spends on two spouses in the path of Allah, then for Paradise there are eight gates for him to enter from any gate he wishes."

And do not narrate to me from someone else what you heard from him. He said, "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Allah says: My love is guaranteed for those who love each other for My sake, for those who sit together for My sake, for those who visit each other for My sake, for those who assist each other for My sake, and for those who support each other for My sake.'"

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever throws an arrow in the cause of Allah, whether it reaches its target or not, will receive reward like the freeing of a slave from the offspring of Ismael. And whoever engages in jihad for the sake of Allah, whether young or old, will have light for him. And whoever emancipates a Muslim slave, every part of the emancipated slave's body will be a ransom for him from the Fire. And whoever frees a Muslim woman, every part of the emancipated woman's body will be a ransom for her from the Fire. And whoever donates to Allah three offspring out of his own progeny before they reach puberty, they will be a shield for him from the Fire. And whoever stands up to perform ablution with the intention of praying and completes the ablution to its prescribed places, he will be free from every sin and fault. When he stands up for prayer, Allah will raise him in status, and if he sits down, he will sit in a state of safety." Shurahbil bin Simt asked, "O Ibn Abbas, did you hear this Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He replied, "Yes, by the One other than whom there is no deity, if I didn't hear this Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than once or twice or three times or four times or five times or six times or seven times, I would not have spoken about it. But, by Allah, I do not know the exact number of times I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ once saw a group of horses, and 'Uyaynah ibn Hisn ibn Badr al-Fazari was with him. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I prefer riding horses over men." 'Uyaynah replied, "And I prefer riding men over horses." The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "How is that?" 'Uyaynah said, "The best of men are those who carry their swords on their shoulders, with their spears thrust into the manes of their horses. They wear woolen clothes from the people of Najd." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded, "You are mistaken. Rather, the best of men are those from the people of Yemen. Their faith is Yemeni-style tenderness, leprosy, scabs, and treating themselves with the meat of camels. They prefer to eat the meat of donkeys, and Hadramis are better than the Banu Harith, and one tribe is better than another. Some tribes are worse than others. By Allah, I don't care if the Banu Harith and Harithan are both destroyed. May Allah curse the four kings: a frozen king, a bandaged king, a sharp king, and a flat-nosed king. And their sister, 'Umardah." Then he said, "My Lord commanded me to curse the Quraysh twice, so I cursed them twice. And my Lord commanded me to pray for them twice, so I prayed for them twice. Then 'Asiyah said, 'May Allah and His Messenger punish Qays and Jadah and 'Asiyah.' Then he said, 'I will enter Islam, and the Ghifaris, Ghifariyyah, Muzainah, and those mixed with Juheinah are better than the Banu Asad, Tamim, Ghatfan, and Hawazin on the Day of Judgment. Then he said, 'The worst two tribes among the Arabs are Najran and the Banu Taghlib. The majority of the tribes in Paradise are Madhhij."

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ who said: The night prayer is done in pairs, and the last third of the night is the most effective time for making dua (supplication). I asked, "Is it more important?" He said, "No, but it is the time in which dua is most likely to be answered."

'Uyaina replied, "The best of men are those who place their swords on their shoulders and display their spears on the necks of their horses from the people of Najd." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You are wrong. The best of men are the people of Yemen, and faith is Yemeni. I am Yemeni, and the majority of the tribes on the Day of Resurrection will be from Yemen, such as Muzhir and Hadramout. They are better than the tribe of Harith. I do not care if both of them (Harith and Banu Hizzan) are destroyed. So, there is no voice or authority except for Allah.
