[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "Indeed, a person may pray, but he may only receive a tenth, a ninth, an eighth, or a seventh of his prayer until he reaches the end of the count."

ahmad:18880Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Ḥabīb b. Abū Thābit > Abū al-Bakhtarī

[Machine] On the day of the Battle of Siffin, 'Ammaar said: "Bring me a cup of milk to drink, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The last drink you will have in this world is a cup of milk.'" So they brought him a cup of milk and he drank it, then he advanced and was killed.

ahmad:18881ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Ziyād Abū ʿUmar > al-Ḥasan > ʿAmmār b. Yāsir

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The example of my Ummah is like that of rain; it is unknown whether the beginning of it is better or its end."

ahmad:18882ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Sufyān > Salamah / Ibn Kuhayl > Abū Mālik And ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abzá > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abzá

"We were with 'Umar when a man came to him and said: 'O Commander of the Believers! sometimes we stay for a month or two without finding any water. Umar said: As if I did not find water, I would not pray until I found water.' 'Ammar bin Yasir said: 'Do you remember, O Commander of the Believer, when you were in such and such a place and we were rearing the camels, and you know that we became Junub?' He said: 'Yes.' 'As for me I rolled in the dust, then we came to the Prophet ﷺ and he laughed and said: "Clean earth would have been sufficient for you." And he struck his hands on the earth then blew on them, then he wiped his face and part of his forearms. He ('Umar) said: "Fear Allah, O 'Ammar!'" He said: 'O Commander of the Believers! If you wish I will not mention it.' He said: 'No, we will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 316)

ahmad:18883ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Sufyān > Ḥabīb > Abū al-Bukhturī > ʿAmmār b. Yāsir Utī Bisharbah Laban Faḍaḥik

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the last drink I will have is milk until I die."

ahmad:18884Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > ʿAmr b. Murrah > ʿAbdullāh b.

[Machine] "And by the One in whose hand is my soul, I have fought with this flag alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ three times, and this is the fourth. And by the One in whose hand is my soul, if they were to strike us until they reach us with the ends of the earth, I would know that our reformers are upon the truth and that they are upon misguidance."

ahmad:18885Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah And Ḥajjāj > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Abū Naḍrah > Ḥajjāj > Abū Naḍrah > Qays b. ʿAbbād > Liʿammār Araʾayt Qitālakum Raʾy Raʾaytumūh

[Machine] I said to 'Ammar, "Have you seen your fight, as you saw it?" He said, "Hajjaj, have you seen this matter, meaning their fight, as you saw it?" For indeed, vision can be fallible or accurate, or it may be a covenant that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted to you. So he (Ammar) said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not entrust us with anything that he did not entrust to all people." And he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, in my nation,' and Shu'bah said, 'I believe he said it,' Huthayfah narrated to me that 'Indeed, in my nation there are twelve hypocrites who will not enter Paradise and will not even find its scent until a camel enters a needle's eye. Eight of them will suffice you with the Dubailah, a flame of fire that appears on their shoulders until it emerges in their chests."

ahmad:18886Bahz b. Asad > Ḥammād b. Salamah > ʿAṭāʾ al-Khurāsānī > Yaḥyá b. Yaʿmaraʾan ʿAmmār

I came to my family at night (after a journey) with my hands chapped and they perfumed me with saffron. In the morning I went to the Prophet ﷺ and gave him a greeting, but he did not respond to me nor did he welcome me. He said: Go away and wash this off yourself. I then went away and washed it off me. I came to him but there remained a spot of it on me. I give him a greeting, but he did not respond to me nor did he welcome me. He said: Go away and wash it off yourself. I then went away and washed it off me. I then came and gave him a greeting. He responded to me and welcomed me, saying: The angels do not attend the funeral of an unbeliever bringing good to it, nor a man who smears himself with saffron, nor a man who is sexually defiled. He said: He permitted the man who was sexually defiled to perform ablution when he slept, ate or drank. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4176)

"Do you remember when we were on a campaign, and I became Junub and rolled in the dust, then I came to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: 'This would have been sufficient.'" (One of the narrators) Shu'bah struck his hands on his knees and blew into his hands, then he wiped his face and palms with them once. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 317)

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ when a necklace belonging to Aisha was lost. The Prophet ﷺ stayed up until dawn searching for it. Abu Bakr became angry with Aisha and they were granted permission to perform Tayammum with sand. Abu Bakr entered upon Aisha and said, "You are blessed. We have been granted permission concerning you." Then, we struck our hands onto our faces and struck our hands on our thighs.

ahmad:18889Ibn Numayr > al-ʿAlāʾ b. Ṣāliḥ > ʿAdī b. Thābit

[Machine] Abu Rashid told us that Ammar delivered a sermon and exceeded the appropriate length in his speech. A man from the Quraysh said to him, "You have said something beneficial, but if only you had made it shorter." Ammar replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised against prolonging the sermon."

[Machine] Yahya named that man and Umar forgot that Ammar said, "I was created with good manners, so I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he scolded me. He said, 'Go, O son of Ammar's mother, and wash yourself.' So I went and washed myself. Then I returned to him and he scolded me again. He said, 'Go back and wash yourself.' So I went and washed myself. Then I returned to him and he scolded me once more. He said, 'Go back and wash yourself.' So I went and washed myself three times."

The people were detained while searching for it until they were exhausted and had no water left. Then they performed Tayammum (dry ablution) instead. ahmad:18894Ṣafwān b. ʿĪsá > Ibn ʿAjlān > Saʿīd al-Maqburī > ʿUmar b. al-Ḥakam > ʿAbdullāh b. > Amah

[Machine] "So when he came out, I went to him and said, 'O Abu Al-Yaqzan, indeed you have lightened it.' He said, 'Have you seen me diminish any of its limits?' I said, 'No.' He said, 'Indeed, I hastened with it, in the haste of Satan. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Indeed, a servant may pray a prayer, and only a tenth of it is written for him, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a fourth, or a third, or a half.'"
