"I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he was praying, and greeted him with Salam. He returned my greeting with a gesture, or maybe it was just with his finger." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1186)
Warning against intending not to pay dowry or debt
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Any man who assigns a woman a dowry while Allah knows that he does not intend to pay it to her, thus deceiving her by Allah and making her private part lawful for himself unlawfully, will meet Allah on the day he meets Him as an adulterer. And any man who takes a debt from another man while Allah knows that he does not intend to repay it to him, thus deceiving him by Allah and making his wealth lawful for himself unlawfully, will meet Allah ﷻ on the day he meets Him as a thief."
The Prophet’s supplication at Hunayn
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was moving his lips during the days of Hunayn with something he had not done before that. He said: Then the Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, there was a prophet among those before you whose nation impressed him, and he said, 'These people will not be overcome by anything.' Then Allah revealed to him to let them choose one of three: either I will set against them an enemy from outside them who will ravage them, or hunger, or death." He said: So they said, "As for killing or hunger, we have no strength for that, but death." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Then seventy thousand died in three days." He said: Then he said: "So now I say: O Allah, by You I strive, by You I charge, and by You I fight."
the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "˹How˺ wondrous is the affair of a believer: for there is good in every affair of his, while that is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer: ˹i.e.,˺ if times of ease strike him, he is grateful which is good for him; and if times of distress strike him, he is patient, which is ˹also˺ good for him." (Using translation from Muslim 2999)
Seeing Allah in Paradise
[AI] "When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, they will be called, 'O people of Paradise, indeed you have an appointment with Allah ﷻ, an appointment that you have not seen.' They will say, 'What is it? Has He not brightened our faces, kept us away from the Fire, and admitted us to Paradise?' He said, 'Then the veil will be removed, and they will look at Him. By Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ has not given them anything more beloved to them than that.'" Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited, "For those who do good is the best reward and more." [Yunus: 26]
from the Prophet ﷺ, regarding the saying of Allah Most High: And for those who have done good is the best and even more (10:26) - He ﷺ said: "When the inhabitants of Paradise have entered Paradise a caller will call out: 'Indeed there remains for you a promise with Allah, and He wants to reward you with it.' They will say: 'Have your faces not been made bright, have we not been saved from the Fire, and have we not been admitted into Paradise?'" He said: "So the Veil will be lifted." He said: "By Allah! Nothing given to them [by Allah] will be more beloved to them than looking at Him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3105)
The Prophet’s whispered supplication in prayer
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he prayed, would whisper something that we did not understand, and he would not tell us about it. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Did you notice me?" Someone said, "Yes." He said, "I mentioned a prophet from among the prophets who was given troops from his people." He said, "Who can match these?" or, "Who can stand up to these?" or words similar to that; Sulaiman was uncertain. He said: Then Allah revealed to him, "Choose for your people one of three: either that I set against them an enemy from outside them, or hunger, or death." He said: So he consulted his people about that, and they said, "You are the Prophet of Allah; we leave that to you, so decide for us." He said: Then he stood for his prayer. He said: When they were frightened, they would resort to prayer. He said: So he prayed. He said, "As for an enemy from outside them, no; and as for hunger, no; but death." He said: So death was sent upon them for three days, and seventy thousand of them died. "So the whispering that you see me saying is: 'O Allah, O Lord, by You I fight, and by You I charge, and there is no power and no strength except through Allah.'"
A wording that omits turning to prayer in alarm
[AI] with this hadith exactly, with all of these words and with this chain, and he did not say in it: "when they were alarmed, they would turn to prayer."
the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "˹How˺ wondrous is the affair of a believer: for there is good in every affair of his, while that is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer: ˹i.e.,˺ if times of ease strike him, he is grateful which is good for him; and if times of distress strike him, he is patient, which is ˹also˺ good for him." The Prophet’s supplication after Fajr at Hunayn
[AI] that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, during the days of Hunayn, used to move his lips after the Fajr prayer with something we had not seen him do before. So we said: O Messenger of Allah, we see you doing something you did not used to do; what is this that you are moving your lips with? He said: "A prophet among those before you was impressed by the large number of his nation, and said that nothing would be able to overcome them. So Allah revealed to him to give his nation the choice between one of three: either that We set against them an enemy from outside them who would overrun them, or hunger, or that I send death upon them. So he consulted them, and they said: As for the enemy, we have no strength against them; as for hunger, we have no patience for it; but death. So death was sent upon them, and seventy thousand of them died in three days." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "So now I say, on seeing their great number: O Allah, by You I strive, by You I contend, and by You I fight."
"The Messenger of Allah recited this Verse: 'For those who have done good is the best reward and even more.' Then he said: 'When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will cry out: "O people of Paradise! You have a covenant with Allah and He wants to fulfill it." They will say: "What is it?" Has Allah not made the Balance (of our good deeds) heavy, and made our faces bright, and admitted us to Paradise and saved us from Hell?" Then the Veil will be lifted and they will look upon Him, and by Allah, Allah will not give them anything that is more beloved to them or delightful, than looking upon Him.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 187)
Suhayb's response to Umar's three objections
[AI] He said to Suhayb, "Were it not for three traits in you, there would be nothing wrong with you." He said, "What are they? By Allah, I do not think you would fault anything without cause." He said, "Your taking the kunyah Abu Yahya when you have no child, your claiming relation to al-Namir ibn Qasit while you are a man with an accent, and that you do not keep wealth." He said, "As for my kunyah Abu Yahya, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave it to me, so I will not leave it until I meet him. As for my claiming relation to al-Namir ibn Qasit, I am a man from them, but I was nursed in al-Ubulla, and this accent comes from that. As for wealth, do you see me spending except in what is right?"
