وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الْحَجِّ بِعَرَفَةَ، فَقَالَ: «الْحَجُّ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ أَوْ عَرَفَاتٍ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَقَدْ تَمَّ حَجُّهُ، وَأَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلَاثَةٌ، فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ، وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ»

شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ، وَأَتَاهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ الْحَجُّ؟ فَقَالَ: «الْحَجُّ عَرَفَةُ، فَمَنْ جَاءَ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ مِنْ لَيْلَةِ جَمْعٍ فَقَدْ تَمَّ حَجُّهُ، أَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ». ثُمَّ أَرْدَفَ رَجُلًا خَلْفَهُ، فَجَعَلَ يُنَادِي بِهِنَّ.
