A widow’s waiting period ends with childbirth
[AI] Subaya gave birth twenty-three or twenty-five nights after her husband's death. Then she made herself presentable, and the Prophet ﷺ was approached and informed, so he said: "If she does so, then her waiting period has passed."
وَلَدَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً، فَتَشَوَّفَتْ، فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأُخْبِرَ، فَقَالَ: «إِنْ تَفْعَلْ، فَقَدْ مَضَى أَجَلُهَا».

When she recovered, she looked forward to marriage, but that was objected to for her, and that was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: "If she does so, then her waiting period has ended." Affan said: "Her term has passed."
وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً، فَلَمَّا تَعَلَّتْ تَشَوَّفَتْ لِلنِّكَاحِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا، وَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: «إِنْ تَفْعَلْ، فَقَدْ حَلَّ أَجَلُهَا». قَالَ عَفَّانُ: فَقَدْ خَلَا أَجَلُهَا.
