"O Messenger of Allah, by Allah! I have not performed the Farewell Tawaf." The Prophet said: "When the Iqamah is said for prayer, perform Tawaf on your camel behind the people." Urwah did not hear from Umm Salamah. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2926)

"I heard Abdullah bin Umar say, when a man asked him wether he could perform Tawaf around the House when he had entered Ihram for Hajj: 'What is stopping you?' He said: 'I saw Abdullah bin Abbas forbidding that, but you are telling us something different.' He said: 'We saw the Messenger of Allah enter Ihram for Hajj, then circumambulate the House then perform between As-Safa and Al-Marwah.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2929)

[Machine] I went out with my companions as pilgrims until we reached Mecca. We circumambulated the Kaaba for a week and prayed two Rak'ahs behind the Station of Ibrahim. Then a man sitting on Zamzam asked, "Who are you?" I said, "We are from the people of the east, from the people of Yamamah." He asked, "Are you pilgrims who have completed your Hajj or are you performing 'Umrah?" We replied, "We are pilgrims." He said, "Then you have invalidated your Hajj." I said, "I have performed Hajj multiple times before and I used to do the same thing." So, I asked who this person was. They said, "This is Ibn Abbas." Then we left and headed towards Abdullah bin Umar and informed him of what Ibn Abbas had said to us. He said, "May Allah remind you, are you pilgrims who have completed your Hajj or are you performing 'Umrah?" We answered, "We are pilgrims." He said, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, all of them performed Hajj and did what you have done."

We went out with the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) at the farewell pilgrimage and raised the voice in talbiyah for an ‘Umrah. The Apostel of Allah (SWAS) said those who have brought the sacrificial animals with them should raise their voices in talbiyah for Hajj along with an ‘Umrah and they should not put off their Ihram till they do so after performing them both. I came to Makkah while I was menstruating and I did not go round the House (the Ka’bah) or run between al-Safa and al-Marwah. I complained about this to the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) he said: Undo your hair, comb it and raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj and let ʿUmrah go. She said I did so. When we performed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) sent me along with ʿAbd al-Rahman bin Abu Bakr to al-Ta’nim and I performed ʿUmrah. He said, this is ʿUmrah in place of the one you had missed. She said those who had raised their voices in talbiyah for ʿUmrah put off Ihram after circumambulating the House (the Ka’bah) and after running between al-Safa and al-Marwa. Then they performed another circumambulation for their Hajj after they returned from Mina but those who combined Hajj and ʿUmrah performed only one circumambulation. Whenever Ibn ʿUmar intended to go to Mecca he used to oil himself with a sort of oil that had no pleasant smell, then he would go to the Mosque of Al-Hulaita and offer the prayer, and then ride. When he mounted well on his Mount and the Mount stood up straight, he would proclaim the intention of assuming Ihram, and he used to say that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ doing the same. He said: 'If I am prevented I will do what the Messenger of Allah did.' He said: 'By Allah, Hajj is jut like Umrah; I ask you to bear witness that I have resolved to do Hajj with my Umrah.' He traveled on until he reached Qudaid, where he bought a Hadi. Ibn ʿUmar intended to perform Hajj in the year when Al-Hajjaj attacked Ibn Az-Zubair. Somebody said to Ibn ʿUmar, "There is a danger of an impending war between them." Ibn ʿUmar said, "Verily, in Messenger of Allah ﷺ you have a good example. (And if it happened as you say) then I would do the same as Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done. I make you witness that I have decided to perform ʿUmra." Then he set out and when he reached Al-Baida', he said, "The ceremonies of both Hajj and ʿUmra are similar. I make you witness that I have made Hajj compulsory for me along with ʿUmra." He drove (to Mecca) a Hadi which he had bought from (a place called) Qudaid and did not do more than that. He did not slaughter the Hadi or finish his Ihram, or shave or cut short his hair till the day of slaughtering the sacrifices (10th Dhul-Hijja). Then he slaughtered his Hadi and shaved his head and considered the first Tawaf (of Safa and Marwa) as sufficient for Hajj and ʿUmra. Ibn ʿUmar said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ did the same." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1640)
