Hafsah, wife of the Prophet ﷺ said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ, how is it that the people have put off their ihram and you did not put off your ihram after your ‘Umrah. He said I have matted my hair and garlanded my sacrificial animal, so I shall not put off my ihram till I sacrifice my sacrificial animals. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1806)  

عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ قَدْ حَلُّوا بِعُمْرَةٍ وَلَمْ تَحْلِلْ أَنْتَ مِنْ عُمْرَتِكَ؟ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَبَّدْتُ رَأْسِي وَقَلَّدْتُ هَدْيِي فَلَا أَحِلُّ حَتَّى أَنْحَرَ»  

That when the Prophet of Allah came to Dhul-Hulaifah he marked the Hadi on the right side of its hump, the he removed the blood and garlanded it with two shoes, then he mounted his she-camel and when it stood up with him Al-Baida, he recited the Talbiyah and entered Ihram at noon and enter Ihram for Hajj. أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ «أَشْعَرَ الْهَدْيَ فِي جَانِبِ السَّنَامِ الْأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ أَمَاطَ عَنْهُ الدَّمَ وَقَلَّدَهُ نَعْلَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ نَاقَتَهُ فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ عَلَى الْبَيْدَاءِ لَبَّى وَأَحْرَمَ عِنْدَ الظُّهْرِ وَأَهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ»
