8. Ḥajj and ʿUmrah Rites
From As-Sa'b bin Jath-thama Al-Laithi that the latter presented an onager to Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at Al-Abwa' or at Waddan, and he refused it. On noticing the signs of some unpleasant feeling of disappointment on his (As-Sab's) face, the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I have only returned it because I am Muhrim." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1825)
the Prophet came, and when he was in Waddan, he saw an onager, but he gave it back to him and said: "'We are in Ihram, we cannot eat game.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2820)
"Do you not know that the Prophet was given a piece of game meant when he was in Ihram and he did not accept it?" He said: "Yes." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2821)
[Machine] "And I heard Abu Asim Al-Nabil, meaning Dahhak ibn Makhlad, saying: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Muslim informed me, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, who said: Zaid ibn Arqam came and Ibn Abbas asked him, 'Do you remember how you informed me about the meat of a hunted animal being presented to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , while it was forbidden?' He said, 'Yes, a man presented a part of the meat of a hunted animal to him, and he rejected it and said, 'We do not consume anything that is forbidden.'"
"As-Sab bin Jaththamah gave the Messenger of Allah the leg of an onager that was dripping with blood when he was in Ihram, at Qudaid, and he returned it to him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2822)
