I was one of those who washed Umm Kulthum, daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, when she died. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ first gave us lower garment, then shirt, then head-wear, then cloak (which covers the whole body), and then she was shrouded in another garment. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting at the door, and he had shroud with him. He gave us the garments one by one.

[Machine] My father used to be one of the companions of Abu Darda, so he told me that there was a man from the Ansar who was devout and adherent to the Mu'tazila sect, to the point where he hardly had time for anything other than worship. He was known as the son of Hanzhaliyya. This man would pass by Abu Darda and stop to speak to him. Abu Darda would say to him, "Tell us a hadith that benefits us and does not harm you." So he narrated to him the following incident: One day, I went out on a military expedition and I fought a man from the Banu Ghifar tribe. I struck a polytheist and said, "Take this, I am from the Ghifar tribe." They reported the incident using the statement of the man from the Ghifar tribe. Some Muslims said that his reward was invalidated, while others disagreed until this reached the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He said, "There is no harm in him being rewarded and praised." Abu Darda was pleased with this statement.

[Machine] My father was a companion of Abu Darda, and he told me that there was a man from the Ansar who was devoted to worship and held the belief of Mu'tazila. He would hardly find time to focus on worship. He was known as the son of Hanthaliyah. He used to pass by Abu Darda and stop to speak with him. Abu Darda would ask him to narrate a beneficial hadith that would not harm him, and he would narrate it. One day, he went out on a secret mission and fought alongside a man from the Banu Ghifar tribe. He struck one of the polytheists, then said, "Take this, I am from Ghifar." They reported this incident and attributed it to the Ghifari. Some Muslims said that his reward was invalidated, while others disagreed until this matter reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, "There is no harm in rewarding and praising him." Abu Darda was delighted with this response.

[Machine] I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ in Arafah and he was asked about sacrificing an animal (aqeeqah). He said, "I dislike disobedience (to parents). Whoever has a child and wishes to sacrifice (an animal) on his behalf, let him do so." He was asked about sacrificing a castrated animal (al-‘ateerah). He said, "It is permissible." He was asked about dividing meat (al-fara'). He said, "It is permissible, but it is not done by slaughtering one sheep on top of another. Rather, it is done by feeding the younger one of the two (sheep), until it reaches the age of biloonee or mukhadh, meaning that you slaughter it." This is better than being extravagant with your utensil and giving it to your camel and slaughtering it, so that its meat gets mixed with its hair. This hadith was narrated by 'Abdul-Jabbar ibn al-'Ala from Sufyan, who said in the narration: "And leaving it under its mother until it becomes a biloonee or mukhadh."

When I approached, people said, "Adi ibn Hatim!" Adi ibn Hatim!" I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said to me: "O Adi ibn Hatim, accept Islam and you will be saved." I said, "Indeed, I am upon a religion." He said, "I know better about your religion than you." So I said, "Do you know more about my religion than me?" He said, "Yes, are you not from the Rukusiyah (Christian sect) while your people eat carrion?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Indeed, this is not lawful for you in your religion." He said (Adi ibn Hatim): "I did not return any statement to this." He said (the Prophet, ﷺ ): "Indeed, I know what is preventing you from Islam. You say, 'I only follow the weak among the people and those who have no power.' And the Arabs have forsaken them. Do you recognize 'Hayrah' (indecision)?" I said, "I have not seen it, but I have heard about it." He said, "By the One in whose Hand is my soul! Allah will bring this matter to completion until the 'Tha'irah' (confusion) leaves 'Hayrah' (indecision). So that she will circumambulate the Ka'bah without anyone's proximity. And Khosrau ibn Hormoz's treasures will be opened and spent until no one accepts them." Adi ibn Hatim said, "Khosrau ibn Hormoz?" He (the Prophet, ﷺ ) said, "Yes, Khosrau ibn Hormoz. And wealth will be so abundant that no one will accept it." Adi ibn Hatim said, "So, this 'Tha'irah' (confusion) will leave 'Hayrah' (indecision) so that she will circumambulate the Ka'bah without anyone's proximity. And there is no person who recites the Qur'an and then forgets it, except that he will meet Allah on the Day of Judgment while being foolish."

[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "When the believers are saved from the Fire, they will be detained on a bridge between the Fire and Paradise to settle their disputes that existed among them in the world. When they are purified and have their sins expiated, permission will be granted for them to enter Paradise. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, one of them will be more generous in giving a place for his fellow believer in Paradise than what anyone of you gives of his dwelling in the world."
