11.24 [Machine] Abu Basir Al-Abdi and his son Abdullah bin Abu Basir, narrated by Abu bin Ka'b

ahmad:21265Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Baṣīr > Ubay b. Kaʿb

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer one day. And he said: Is so and so present? They said: No. He (again) asked: Is so and so present? They replied: No. He then said: These two prayers are the ones which are most burdensome to hypocrites. If you knew what they contain (i.e. blessings), you would come to them, even though you had to crawl on your knees. The first row is like that of the angels, and if you knew the nature of its excellence, you would race to join it. A man's prayer said along with another is purer than his prayer said alone, and his prayer with two men is purer than his prayer with one, but if there are more it is more pleasing to Allah, the Almighty, the Majestic. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 554)

ahmad:21266Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Baṣīr > Ubay b. Kaʿb

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer. After the prayer, he said, "Did so-and-so witness the prayer?" The people remained silent and they said, "Yes, he did not attend." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the heaviest prayers upon the hypocrites are the 'Isha' and Fajr prayers. If they knew the virtues of these two prayers, they would come to perform them even if they had to crawl. Indeed, the first row in prayer is equivalent to the row of angels, and if you knew the virtue of it, you would compete to be in it. Indeed, your prayer along with two men is purer than your prayer with one man, and your prayer with one man is purer than your prayer alone. However, the more the number increases, the more beloved it is to Allah."

[Machine] "Abu Ishaq, and I have heard it from him and from his father, said, 'I heard Ubay ibn Ka'b saying, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the morning prayer one day and then mentioned the hadith.'"

ahmad:21269Abū Kāmil Muẓaffar b. Mudrik > Zuhayr > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Baṣīr from his father

[Machine] He informed me of the most amazing story that he had heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He said: "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , led us in the Fajr prayer, then he turned towards us and said: 'Witness, so and so.' And he mentioned the story."

ahmad:21270ʿAbdullāh > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbdullāh a freed slave of Banī Hāshim > Zuhayr > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Baṣīr from his father

[Machine] I arrived in the city and met Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who mentioned something similar to that.

ahmad:21271ʿAbdullāh > Shaybān b. Abū Shaybah > Jarīr b. Ḥāzim > Abū Isḥāq > Abū Baṣīr al-ʿAbdī > Ubay b. Kaʿb > Ṣallá Nabī Allāh ﷺ al-Ghadāh Thum

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ prayed the morning prayer and then said, "There is a witness, so and so," and mentioned the narration.

ahmad:21272ʿAbdullāh > Shaybān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > al-Ḥajjāj b. Arṭāh > Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Baṣīr > Ubay b. Kaʿb

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If people knew the excellence of the `Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer in congregation, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.'"

ahmad:21273ʿAbdullāh > Khalaf b. Hishām al-Bazzār And ʾAbū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Abū al-Aḥwaṣ > Abū Isḥāq > al-ʿAyzār b. Ḥurayth > Abū Baṣīr

[Machine] Ubayy ibn Ka'b prayed the Fajr prayer with us, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he finished the prayer, he noticed that there were only a few people in the mosque, so he asked, "Is so-and-so present?" We replied, "Yes," until he counted three individuals. He then said, "Indeed, it is not a heavier prayer for the hypocrites than the prayer of Al-Isha and the Fajr prayer in the Hereafter." And he mentioned the Hadith in its entirety.

ahmad:21274ʿAbdullāh > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar al-Qawārīrī > Jaʿfar b. Sulaymān > Ḥubāb al-Quṭaʿī > Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī > a man from ʿAbd al-Qays > Ubī

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Fajr prayer with us, and when he finished his prayer, he turned towards us with his face and said, "Indeed, the heaviest prayers on the hypocrites are these two prayers."
