[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said: "When you come [to join the congregational prayer] and the imam is in the state of ruku' (bowing), then you should also bow. And if the imam is in the state of sujood (prostration), then you should also prostrate. And do not precede the imam in performing sujood if he has not yet performed ruku'."  

البيهقي:٢٥٧٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أنبأ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا جِئْتُمْ وَالْإِمَامُ رَاكِعٌ فَارْكَعُوا وَإِنْ كَانَ سَاجِدًا فَاسْجُدُوا وَلَا تَعْتَدُّوا بِالسُّجُودِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ الرُّكُوعُ
