[Machine] I entered the mosque and noticed hunger on the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I asked Umm Sulaim, "Do you have anything?" She signaled with her hands and said, "I have something." I told her, "Prepare some dough for me." I then sent Anas and told him, "Go to her and tell her to bring it." When Anas came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is a man who has brought you the best of things. What did your father send you for?" Anas replied, "Yes," so the Prophet ﷺ welcomed him and said, "Stand up and say, 'Bismillah' (in the name of Allah)." Anas took some steps back and stumbled until he came to Abu Talhah and said, "This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who has come to you in the middle of the people." Abu Talhah said, "I will meet him by the door on the terrace of the step." When he (the Prophet ﷺ) entered, I said, "What have you done to us, O Messenger of Allah?" I only recognized hunger on your face, so I prepared something for you to eat." He (the Prophet ﷺ) said, "Enter and give me glad tidings." So he entered and brought their provision and leveled it out with his hand. Then he asked, "Do you have any meat?" They brought him a shoulder (of a sheep) with some fat on it. He put his hand on it, and the fat poured out. Then he said, "Invite ten people in at a time." They were about one hundred in number, so they entered and ate until they were satisfied. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the one who had provided the food, "Eat, you and your family." So they ate and were satisfied.  

دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَعَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْجُوعَ فَسَأَلْتُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ هَلْ عِنْدَكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِكَفَّيْهَا فَقَالَتْ عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ فَقُلْتُ اصْنَعِي اعْجِنِي وَأَرْسَلْتُ أَنَسًا فَقُلْتُ ائْتِهِ فَسَارَّهُ فِي أُذُنِهِ وَادْعُهُ فَلَمَّا أَقْبَلَ أَنَسٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَذَا رَجُلٌ قَدْ أَتَاكُمْ بِخَيْرٍ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ أَرْسَلَكَ أَبُوكَ يَدْعُونَا؟» قَالَ أَنَسٌ نَعَمْ فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ قَالَ «قُومُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ» فَأَدْبَرَ أَنَسٌ يَشْتَدُّ حَتَّى أَتَى أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ هَذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَتَاكَ فِي النَّاسِ قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ عِنْدَ الْبَابِ عَلَى مُسْتَراحِ الدَّرَجَةِ فَقُلْتُ مَاذَا صَنَعْتَ بِنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ إِنَّمَا عَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِكَ الْجُوعَ فَصَنَعْتُ لَكَ شَيْئًا تَأْكُلُهُ فَقَالَ «ادْخُلْ وَأَبْشِرْ» فَدَخَلَ فَأَتَى بَصَحْفَتِهِمْ فَجَعَلَ يُسَوِّيها بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَلْ مِنْ كَأَنَّهُ يَعْنِي الْأُدُمَ فَأَتَوْهُ بِعِكَّتِهِمْ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ أَوْ لَيْسَ فِيهَا فَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ فَانْسَكَبَ مِنْهَا السَّمْنُ فَقَالَ «أَدْخِلْ عَلَيَّ عَشَرَةً عَشَرَةً» قَالَ وَهُمْ زُهَاءُ مِائَةٍ فَدَخَلُوا فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِلْفَضْلِ الَّذِي فَضَلَ «كُلُوا أَنْتُمْ وَعِيالُكُمْ» فَأَكَلُوا وَشَبِعُوا  

[Machine] Narrated by Abu Talhah, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , that he entered upon Sahal while he was sick, and under Sahal there were drawings. Sahal said, "Remove these drawings from beneath me." Abu Talhah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about images, 'Angels do not enter a house where there are images except for a design on a cloth, so there is no harm in it.'" Sahal said, "Even so, remove it."  

عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ وَتَحْتَ سَهْلٍ نَمَطٌ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ انْزِعُوا مِنْ تَحْتِي هَذَا النَّمَطَ فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي التَّصَاوِيرِ «لَا تَدْخُلُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ رَقْمٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ» قَالَ سَهْلٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ فَانْزِعُوهُ  

[Machine] Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the meat of a "Qat" bird and performed ablution with its feathers.  

«إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said: No (Muslim) man will desert a man who is a Muslim in a place where his respect may be violated and his honour aspersed without Allah deserting him in a place here he wishes his help; and no (Muslim) man who will help a Muslim in a place where his honour may be aspersed and his respect violated without Allah helping him in a place where he wishes his help. Yahya said: 'Ubaid Allah b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar and 'Uqbah b. Shaddad transmitted it to me. Abu Dawud said: This yahya b. Sulaim is the son of Zaid, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, and Isma'il b. Bashir is the freed slave of Banu Maghalah. Sometimes the name of 'Utbah b. Shaddad is mentioned instead of 'Uqbah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4884)   

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي مَغَالَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ بْنَ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّيْنِ يَقُولَانِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنَ امْرِئٍ يَخْذُلُ مُسْلِمًا فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ وَيُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ مِنْ حُرْمَتِهِ إِلَّا خَذَلَهُ اللهُ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ وَمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَنْصُرُ مُسْلِمًا فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ وَيُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ مِنْ حُرْمَتِهِ إِلَّا نَصَرَهُ اللهُ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ»  

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image of an animate being.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5348)  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا تِمْثَالٌ»  

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Angels do not enter the house in which there is a dog or a statue. (Using translation from Muslim 2106b)   

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ»  

[Machine] "I was one of those who were overwhelmed with sleepiness on Sunday."  

«كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ صُبَّ عَلَيْهِ النُّعَاسُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ»  

[Machine] "And the sword would fall from his hand, so he would grab it and it would fall from my hand, then I would grab it from sleepiness."  

«وَكَانَ السَّيْفُ يَسْقُطُ مِنْ يَدَهِ فَآخُذُهُ وَيَسْقُطُ مِنْ يَدِي ثُمَّ آخُذُهُ مِنَ النُّعَاسِ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered thirty-three men from the Quraysh to be thrown into a pit in the valley of Badr, where the wind blew fiercely. Whenever he appeared before a group, he would stop at the middle of the valley three times. On the third day, he ordered his camel to be prepared and tightened her saddle. Then he walked and his companions followed him. They said, "We do not see him leaving unless he has some need." Then he came to the edge of the well and said, "O so and so, son of so and so, and O so and so, son of so and so, did you wish that you had obeyed Allah and His Messenger? Have you found what your Lord promised to be true? We have found what our Lord promised to be true." Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, are you speaking to bodies without souls?" He replied, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, they can hear what I say, even if you cannot." Sa'id said, "By Allah, Allah revived them until they heard his statement."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِبِضْعَةٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ صَنَادِيدِ قُرَيْشٍ فَأُلْقُوا فِي طَوِيٍّ مِنْ أَطَاوِي بَدْرٍ حَيْثُ جَيَّفَتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا ظَهَرَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ أَقَامَ بِالْعَرْصَةِ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الثَّالِثُ أَمَرَ بِرَاحِلَتِهِ فَشَدَّ عَلَيْهَا رَحْلَهَا ثُمَّ مَشَى وَاتَّبَعَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ قَالُوا مَا نَرَاهُ مُنْطَلِقًا إِلَّا لِبَعْضِ حَاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ أَتَى شُقَّةَ الْبِئْرِ فَقَالَ «يَا فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ وَيَا فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ وَدِدْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ أَطَعْتُمُ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا فَقَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا» قَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتُكِلِّمُ أَجْسَادًا لَا أَرْوَاحَ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَسْمَعَ لِمَا أَقُولُ مِنْهُمْ» قَالَ سَعِيدٌ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ «أَحْيَاهُمُ اللهُ وَاللهِ لَهُ حَتَّى سَمِعُوا قَوْلَهُ»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , would prefer to stay with a defeated people for three days or three nights."  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا غَلَبَ قَوْمًا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُقِيمَ بِعَرْصَتِهِمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ أَوْ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the following verse when he arrived in the morning at the area of a certain tribe: "So the morning of those who were warned was not good."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا صَبَّحَ خَيْبَرَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ {فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ}  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he attacked Khaybar, they had taken their water skins and ropes and had gone out to their fields in the morning. When they saw the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , with his army, they turned and fled. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is ruined. When we descend upon a people's land, it is a bad morning for the warning ones."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا صَبَّحَ خَيْبَرَ وَقَدْ أَخَذُوا مَسَاحِيَهُمْ وَمَكَاتِلَهُمْ وَغَدَوْا عَلَى حُرُوثِهِمْ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَهُ الْخَمِيسُ نَكَصُوا مُدْبِرِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ»  

[Machine] I was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . If I were to say that my knee touched his knee, he would remain silent until the time of sorcery. Then, when the milk carrier goes to his milk and the farmer goes to his field, he becomes jealous of them and says, "Indeed, when we descend upon a people's market, it is a disastrous morning for those who are warned."  

كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَوْ قُلْتُ إِنَّ رُكْبَتِي تَمَسُّ رُكْبَتِهِ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ السَّحَرِ وَذَهَبَ ذُو الضَّرْعِ إِلَى ضَرْعِهِ وَذُو الزَّرْعِ إِلَى زَرْعِهِ أَغَارَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ {فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ}  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say during his talbiyah, "Here I am, responding to your call for Hajj and Umrah together."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي تَلْبِيَتَهِ «لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ مَعًا»  

[Machine] I gazed at the Prophet ﷺ and his companions on the day of Uhud, and I did not see anyone except that they were struggling with drowsiness beneath their eyelids.  

«رَمَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَلَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَمَلُّ تَحْتَ جُحْفَتِهِ مِنَ النُّعَاسِ»  

[Machine] "I was among those overwhelmed by drowsiness on the day of Sunday."  

«كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ صُبَّ عَلَيْهِ النُّعَاسُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah reward you, O Ansar, with goodness, for indeed you possess knowledge and patience."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَزَاكُمُ اللهُ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّكُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَعِفَّةٌ صُبُرٌ»  

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'Convey my Salam to your people, because I know them to be modest and patient.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3903)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أقْرِئْ قَوْمَكَ السَّلَامَ فَإِنَّهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَعِفَّةٌ صُبُرٌ»  

[Machine] It was said to Ma'rar, and I was with him, "Was wudu' taken from what the fire has touched?" He said, "He took it from Anas, and Anas took it from Abu Talhah, and Abu Talhah took it from the Prophet ﷺ."  

قِيلَ لِمَطَرٍ وَأَنَا عِنْدَهُ مِمَّنْ أَخَذَ الْحَسَنُ «الْوُضُوءُ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ» ؟ فَقَالَ أَخَذَهُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَأَخَذَهُ أَنَسٌ عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ وَأَخَذَهُ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

[Machine] He bought wine for orphans, but when wine was prohibited, he asked, "O Messenger of Allah, can I make vinegar from it?" He said, "No."  

أَنَّهُ ابْتَاعَ خَمْرًا لِأَيْتَامٍ فَلَمَّا حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أتَّخِذُهَا خَلًّا؟ قَالَ «لَا»  

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have bought wine for orphans in my house." He said, "Pour out the wine and break the cups." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is for orphans." He said, "Pour out the wine and break the cups."  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي اشْتَرَيْتُ خَمْرًا لِأَيْتَامٍ فِي حِجْرِي فَقَالَ «أَهْرِقِ الْخَمْرَ وَاكْسِرِ الدِّنَانَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا لِأَيْتَامٍ قَالَ «أَهْرِقِ الْخَمْرَ وَاكْسِرِ الدِّنَانَ»  

By Allah, I am certain that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that. (Using translation from Aḥmad 101)   

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْخَلِيطَيْنِ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ prohibited companionship."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْأَقْرَانِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ صَلَاةً صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا»  

[Machine] I entered to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I saw him with a pleasant soul and a beautiful appearance. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen anyone with a more pleasant soul than yours today." He replied, "The reason is that the angel has informed me that whoever sends blessings upon you, I send blessings upon him ten times, and whoever sends peace upon you, I send peace upon him ten times."  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَيْتُهُ طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ حَسَنَ الْبِشْرِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا رَأَيْتُكَ أَطْيَبَ نَفْسًا مِنْكَ الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ «وَمَا يَمْنَعَنْي وَالْمَلِكُ خَبَّرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَنَا ومَلَائِكَتِي عَشْرًا وَمَنْ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكَ سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَنَا ومَلَائِكَتِي عَشْرًا»  

[Machine] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I saw something in his face and radiance that I had never seen in anyone before. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen you in such a state before." He said, "What prevented me, O Abu Talhah, is that Gabriel came to me just now and brought me glad tidings from my Lord. He said, "Indeed, Allah has sent me to you to give you the glad tidings that no one from your nation sends blessings upon you, except that Allah and His angels send blessings upon him ten times."  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَيْتُ مِنْ بِشْرِهِ وطَلَاقَتِهِ شَيْئًا لَمْ أَرَهُ عَلَى مِثْلِ تِلْكِ الْحَالِ قَطُّ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا رَأَيْتُكَ عَلَى مِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْحَالِ قَطُّ فَقَالَ وَمَا يَمْنَعَنْي يَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِي جِبْرِيلُ ﷺ آنِفًا فَأَتَانِي بِبِشَارَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّي قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ بَعَثَنِي إِلَيْكَ أُبَشِّرُكَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةً إِلَّا صَلَّى اللهُ وَمَلَائِكَتُهُ عَلَيْهِ بِهَا عَشْرًا  

[Machine] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the features of his face were glowing, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen you with a more pleasant disposition and a more radiant countenance than what I see today." He said, "What is there that does not please me and make me appear radiant? Jibril ﷺ just parted from me a little while ago and said, 'O Muhammad, whoever sends blessings upon you from your ummah (community) once, Allah will write for him ten good deeds, erase from him ten bad deeds, and raise his rank by ten degrees, and the angels will make the same supplication for him as well.' I said, 'O Jibril, who is this angel?' He said, 'Verily, Allah has entrusted you with an angel from among His creation until He resurrects you. No one from your ummah sends blessings upon you except that the angel does the same and says, 'And may Allah send His blessings upon you.'"  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَسَارِيرُ وَجْهِهِ تَبْرُقُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا رَأَيْتُكَ أَطْيَبَ نَفْسًا وَلَا أَظْهَرَ بِشْرًا مِنْكَ فِي يَوْمِكَ هَذَا فَقَالَ وَمَا لِي لَا تَطِيبُ نَفْسِي وَلَا يَظْهَرُ بِشْرِي وَإِنَّمَا فَارَقَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ السَّاعَةَ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ صَلَاةً كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ بِهَا عَشَرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَمَحَا عَنْهُ عَشَرَ سَيِّئَاتٍ وَرَفَعَهُ بِهَا عَشَرَ دَرَجَاتٍ وَقَالَ لَهُ الْمَلَكُ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لَكَ قُلْتُ يَا جِبْرِيلُ وَمَا ذَاكَ الْمَلَكُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ وَكَّلَ بِكَ مَلَكًا مِنْ لَدُنِ خَلْقِكَ إِلَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ إِلَّا قَالَ وَأَنْتَ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْكَ  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , while he was smiling and his face was radiant. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are in a good state that I have not seen the like of before." He said, "What prevents me from being in a good state when Jibril (Gabriel), ﷺ , came to me earlier and said, 'Give glad tidings to your Ummah (nation) that whoever sends blessings upon you, Allah will record for him ten rewards, wipe away ten sins, and elevate him by ten degrees. Allah will respond to him in a manner equal to the way he sends blessings upon you on the Day of Resurrection.'"  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَتَهَلَّلُ وَجْهُهُ مُسْتَبْشِرًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ لَعَلى حَالٍ مَا رَأَيْتُكَ عَلَى مِثْلَهَا قَالَ وَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ آنِفًا فَقَالَ بَشِّرْ أُمَّتَكَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةً كُتِبَ لَهُ بِهَا عَشَرُ حَسَنَاتٍ وَكُفِّرَ عَنْهُ بِهَا عَشَرُ سَيِّئَاتٍ وَرُفِعَ لَهُ بِهَا عَشَرُ دَرَجَاتٍ وَرَدَّ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ وَعُرِضَتْ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ  

I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a man was offering prayer. He then made supplication: O Allah, I ask Thee by virtue of the fact that praise is due to Thee, there is no deity but Thou, Who showest favour and beneficence, the Originator of the Heavens and the earth, O Lord of Majesty and Splendour, O Living One, O Eternal One. The Prophet ﷺ then said: He has supplicated Allah using His Greatest Name, when supplicated by this name, He answers, and when asked by this name He gives. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1495)   

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكُ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ سَأَلَ اللهَ بِالِاسْمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Giving charity to the poor is a charity, and giving charity to a relative is a charity and maintaining ties of kinship."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ وَعَلَى ذِي الرَّحِمِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came one day and the people could see happiness on his face. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we see something on your face that we have never seen before." He replied, "Indeed, an angel came to me and said, 'Your Lord says to you, "Are you pleased or would it not please you if I do not let anyone from your ummah pray upon you except that I pray upon him ten times? And that no one greets you except that I greet him ten times?"' I replied, 'Yes, I am pleased.'"  

أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا وَالْبِشْرُ يُرَى فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَرَى فِي وَجْهِكَ بَشَرًا لَمْ نَكُنْ نَرَاهُ قَالَ إِنَّ مَلَكًا أَتَانِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَبِّكَ يَقُولُ لَكَ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَوْ أَلَا يُرْضِيكَ أَنْ لَا يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا؟ وَلَا يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا؟ قُلْتُ بَلَى  

[Machine] We were sitting on the platforms when the Prophet ﷺ passed by us and said, "What is the matter with you and sitting on the platforms?" We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we were sitting and conversing, mentioning Allah." He said, "Then give the gatherings their rights." We asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are their rights?" He said, "Lowering the gaze, returning greetings, giving directions to the lost, and speaking good words."  

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عَلَى الْأَفْنِيَةِ فَمَرَّ بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكُمْ وَالْجُلُوسُ عَلَى الصُّعُدَاتِ؟» فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا جَلَسْنَا نَتَحَدَّثُ نَذْكُرُ اللهَ قَالَ «فَأَعْطُوا الْمَجَالِسَ حَقَّهَا» قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا حَقُّهَا؟ قَالَ «غَضُّ الْبَصَرِ وَرَدُّ السَّلَامِ وإِهْدَاءُ السَّبِيلِ وَحُسْنُ الْكَلَامِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs ablution, purifies themselves, wears clean clothes, and approaches the Imam, then listens attentively and does not indulge in idle talk during Friday prayer, Allah will reward them for every step they take towards the mosque with the reward of fasting and praying for a year."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ غَسَلَ وَاغْتَسَلَ وَغَدَا وَابْتَكَرَ وَدَنَا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَأَنْصَتَ وَلَمْ يَلْغُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ خَطَاهَا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ صِيَامَ سَنَةٍ وَقِيَامِهَا»  

[Machine] Abu Talhah's father, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned them to Umair ibn Talhah upon his death, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to them and prayed for him in his house. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came forward and Abu Talhah and Umm Sulaim were behind him, and no one was with them except them.  

أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ «دَعَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى عُمَيْرِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ حِينَ تُوُفِّي فَأَتَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ فَتَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ وَرَاءَهُ وَأُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ غَيْرُهُمْ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Perform ablution from what the fire has touched."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Perform ablution (wudu) from what has been touched by fire."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»  

From 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utbah, that he entered upon Abu Talhah Al-Ansari to pay him a visit (while he was ill), and he found Sahl bin Hunaif with him. He said: "Abu Talhah called for someone to remove a sheet that was under him. Sahl said to him: 'Why did you remove it?' He replied: 'Because it contains images on it, and the Prophet ﷺ said about them what you know.' Sahl said: 'Do he not say: Except for markings on a garment?' He said: 'Yes, but this is better to me.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1750)   

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ يَعُودُهُ قَالَ فَوَجَدْنَا عَنْدَهُ سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ قَالَ فَدَعَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ إِنْسَانًا فَنَزَعَ نَمَطًا كَانَ تَحْتَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ لِمَ تَنْزِعُهُ؟ قَالَ لِأَنَّ فِيهِ تَصَاوِيرَ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِيهَا مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتَهُ فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ أَوَ لَمْ يَقُلْ «إِلَّا مَا كَانَ رَقْمًا فِي ثَوْبٍ؟» فَقَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّهُ أَطْيَبُ لِنَفْسِي  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ prohibiting the use of images, except for a design on a garment or a garment with a pattern on it. He was asked, "Yes, but I have such a dislike for it that I remove it."  

سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ الصُّوَرِ إِلَّا رَقْمًا فِي ثَوْبٍ أَوْ ثَوْبًا فِيهِ رَقْمٌ» ؟ قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُهُ فَنَزَعَهُ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed two salted lambs, and he said during the first one, "For Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." And he said during the second one, "For the one who believed in me and confirmed me from my nation."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ضَحَّى بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ فَقَالَ عِنْدَ الْأَوَّلِ «عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ» وَقَالَ عِنْدَ الثَّانِي «عَمَّنْ آمَنَ بِي وَصَدَّقَنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي»  

[Machine] I heard Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numair saying, "Zaid bin Thabit bin Dihak."  

سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ»  

[Machine] "I was asking for this venomous creature that Allah writes good deeds for by killing it and erases bad deeds with it, and it is the lizard."  

«كُنْتُ أَطْلُبُ هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةَ الْخَبِيثَةَ الَّتِي يَكْتُبُ اللهُ بِقَتْلِهَا الْحَسَنَةَ وَيَمْحُو بِهَا السَّيِّئَةَ وَهِي الْوَزَغُ»  

[Machine] To Zaid ibn Thabit, O Abu Sa'id.  

لِزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ  

[Machine] They said to Zaid bin Thabit, "O Abu Sa'id."  

قَالُوا لِزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ  

[Machine] I heard Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr say, "Zaid ibn Thabit is called Abu Sa'id."  

سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ يُكْنَى أَبَا سَعِيدٍ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ arrived in Medina, and I was eleven years old.  

«قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted me on the day of the trench and clothed me with a Qubtiyah garment."  

«أَجَازَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَكَسَانِي قُبْطِيَّةً»  

[Machine] Uthman asked, "Who among the people should I write?" They said, "Zaid ibn Thabit."  

عُثْمَانُ أَيَّ النَّاسِ أَكْتُبُ؟ فَقَالُوا زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ  

[Machine] "Uthman, may Allah have mercy on him, said: 'Please pray for me, Zaid ibn Thabit, the scribe of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .'"  

عُثْمَانُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ «ادْعُوا لِي زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ كَاتَبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] Ibn Abbas said, "This is how we treat the senior scholars."  

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «هَكَذَا نَفْعَلُ بِالْعُلَمَاءِ الْكُبَرَاءِ»  

[Machine] The scholars after Mu'adh ibn Jabal, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Abu Darda, Salman al-Farsi, and Abdullah ibn Salam were Zaid ibn Thabit. Then after Zaid were Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas.  

«كَانَ الْعُلَمَاءُ بَعْدَ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَأَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ وَسَلْمَانُ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ وَكَانَ الْعُلَمَاءُ بَعْدَ هَؤُلَاءِ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ثُمَّ كَانَ بَعْدَ زَيْدٍ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ»
