So I just at in my house, and my uncle said to me: ‘You only wanted the Messenger of Allah to not believe you and hate you.’ Then Allah [Most High] revealed: ‘When the hypocrites come to you’ So the Messenger of Allah sent for me, and he recites it and said: ‘Indeed Allah has verified the truth of what you said.’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3312)

[Machine] "We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and the people faced hardship. Abdullah ibn Ubayy said to his companions, 'Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disperse from him.' He also said, 'If we return to Medina, the honorable will expel the lowly from it.' So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him about this. He sent for Abdullah ibn Ubayy and questioned him, and Abdullah ibn Ubayy did his best to swear that he did not say such things. They accused Zaid, the Messenger of Allah, of lying. This troubled me to the extent that Allah revealed in confirmation of my statement, 'When the hypocrites come to you...' (Surah Al-Munafiqoon, verse 1). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then called them and sought forgiveness for them. They hung their heads low, and Allah, the Exalted, says, 'As though they were pieces of timber propped up' (Surah Al-Munafiqoon, verse 4). He said, 'They were the most handsome of men.'"
