Umm Kulthum, the daughter of 'Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ayt, reported that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Someone who makes peace between people by saying something good or relates something good is not a liar."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَقُولُ خَيْرًا أَوْ يَنْمِي خَيْرًا قَالَتْ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُرَخِّصُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِمَّا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ مِنَ الْكَذِبِ إِلاَّ فِي ثَلاَثٍ الإِصْلاَحِ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَحَدِيثِ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ وَحَدِيثِ الْمَرْأَةِ زَوْجَهَا

She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people, conveying good or saying good."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا».

that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people: he says good, and conveys good."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ، وَيَقُولُ خَيْرًا، وَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا.»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Profit follows responsibility.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْخَرَاجُ بِالضَّمَانِ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged: "The produce is for the responsible one."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ

"One who brings peace between people is not a liar, he says something good, or reports something good."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا

" The Messenger of Allah ruled that what a slave earns belongs to his guarantor."

قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allegiance belongs to those who have been freed."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Spread it out."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ابْتَسِطُوهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Loyalty belongs to those who free slaves."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ

[AI] From his mother, Umm Kulthum bint 'Uqba, who was among the early emigrants, she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people by saying good things or spreading goodness." And he said once, "and spreads goodness."

عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الْأُوَلِ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً وَنَمَى خَيْرًا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ بِالْكَذَّابِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً وَنَمَى خَيْرًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Nothing of gold or kharbasīsah is of worth."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَصْلُحُ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ شَيْءٌ وَلَا خَرْبَصِيصَةُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Al-Kharaj (land tax) is with responsibility." As for the saying of Yahya ibn Sa'id...

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْخَرَاجُ بِالضَّمَانِ» وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged: "The produce is for the responsible one." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1285)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever touches his private part, let him perform Wudu'.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 444)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not urinate while standing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَبُلْ قَائِمًا»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not curse the cock, for it awakens for prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5101)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَسُبُّوا الدِّيكَ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "He who speaks good or spreads good is not a liar."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ قَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Khawarij are the dogs of Hell.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 173)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْخَوَارِجُ كِلَابُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ»

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no marriage except with a guardian.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1881)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيٍّ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: He who is consulted is trustworthy. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5128)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches their private parts, it is obligatory for them to perform ablution."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْوُضُوءُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He is not a liar who reconciles between people and says good or brings good news."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَقُولُ خَيْرًا أَوْ يَنْمِي خَيْرًا»

[AI] About his mother, Umm Kulthum bint Uqba, who was one of the early emigrants (to Medina), she said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'He who reconciles people is not a liar; he says good or does good.'"

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He who reconciles between people is not a liar."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "He who is not trustworthy in reconciling people with good intentions or saying something good is not a liar."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا»

[AI] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people and speaks good or says it."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُهُ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The liar is not the one who speaks in order to bring reconciliation between people."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ بِأَنْ يَقُولَ الرَّجُلُ فِي إِصْلَاحِ مَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ قَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»

[AI] They pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah pbuh and informed him that they heard the Messenger of Allah pbuh saying, "The person who reconciles between people and speaks good or spreads goodness is not a liar."

بَايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَقُولُ خَيْرًا أَوْ يَنْمِي خَيْرًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He who reconciles between people and says good or promotes good is not a liar."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا»

That she heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2692)

أَنَّ أُمِّهَ وَهِيَ أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتُ عُقْبَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "He is not a liar who reconciles between people, conveying good or bringing about good."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا»

A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them). أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ

[AI] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The one who reconciles between people, spreading goodness or saying good things, he is not a liar." She said: "I never heard him granting permission in anything that people talk about except in three: during war, reconciling between people, and a man speaking to his wife and a wife speaking to her husband." And Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah was one of the Muhajirun women who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا وَقَالَتْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُرَخِّصُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِمَّا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ فِي الْحَرْبِ وَالْإِصْلَاحِ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَحَدِيثِ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ وَحَدِيثِ الْمَرْأَةِ زَوْجَهَا قَالَ وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ كُلْثُومِ بِنْتُ عُقْبَةَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ اللَّاتِي بَايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ

"الخَراج بالضمان".

"لَيسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذي يُصْلِحُ بَينَ النَّاسِ فَيَنْمى خَيرًا وَيقُولُ خَيرًا".
