[Machine] Ibn Abi Mulayka and Amr ibn Dinar gathered in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with nine women, along with Safiyyah, after Khadijah passed away. All of them died except for one, Uthman ibn Abi Sulaiman, who married two women from Banu Amir ibn Sa'saah, apart from the nine. He married both of them and one of them was called Umm al-Masakin, and she was the best of his wives in serving the poor. He married a woman from Banu Al-Jawn and when she came to him, she sought refuge from him. He divorced her and married a woman from Kindah, but he did not have intimate relations with her. She got married after the Prophet ﷺ , and Umar separated the marriage and struck his wife. She said, "Fear Allah, O Umar, if you are among the mothers of the believers, then strike me with the hijab and give me what you have given them." He said, "As for that, no." She said, "Leave me to marry." He said, "No, I have no need for that nor do I desire it from anyone."

ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ وعَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ مَعَ صَفِيَّةَ بَعْدَ خَدِيجَةَ مَاتَ عَنْهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّ قَالَ وَزَادَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ امْرَأَتَيْنِ سِوَى التِّسْعِ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ كِلْتَاهُمَا جَمَعَ وَكَانَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا تُدْعَى أُمَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَكَانَتْ خَيْرَ نِسَائِهِ لِلْمَسَاكِينِ وَنَكَحَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي الْجَوْنِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُ اسْتَعَاذَتْ مِنْهُ فَطَلَّقَهَا وَنَكَحَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ كِنْدَةَ وَلَمْ يَجْمَعْهَا فَتَزَوَّجَتْ بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَفَرَّقَ عُمَرُ بَيْنَهُمَا وَضَرَبَ زَوْجَهَا فَقَالَتْ اتَّقِ اللهَ يَا عُمَرُ إِنْ كُنْتُ مِنْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَاضْرِبْ عَلَيَّ الْحِجَابَ وَأَعْطِنِي مَا أَعْطَيْتَهُنَّ فَقَالَ «أَمَا هُنَالِكَ فَلَا» قَالَتْ فَدَعْنِي أَنْكِحْ قَالَ «لَا وَلَا نِعْمَةَ وَلَا أُطْمِعُ فِي ذَلِكَ أَحَدًا»

[Machine] He informed him that while he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , a man from the Jews came and said, "O Muhammad, does this funeral speak?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah knows best." The Jew said, "I bear witness that it speaks." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What people of the scripture tell you, neither believe nor disbelieve them. Rather, say, 'We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims in submission to Him.' If it is true, then you have not disbelieved them, and if it is false, then you have not believed them."

الطبراني:١٩١٧١حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْهِقْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الصَّدَفِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي نَمْلَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَبَا نَمْلَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَلْ تَكَلَّمُ هَذِهِ الْجَنَازَةُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُ أَعْلَمُ» فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهَا تَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ وَلَا تُكَذِّبُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ فَإِنْ كَانَ حَقًّا لَمْ تُكَذِّبُوهُمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ بَاطِلًا لَمْ تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ»


مَنْ يُكَنَّى أَبَا الرَّمْدَاءِ أَبُو الرَّمْدَاءَ الْبَلَوِيُّ

[Machine] Abu Sulaiman, the slave of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , informed him that Abu Ramdah Al-Balawi told him that a man among them drank alcohol. They brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was lashed. Then he drank for the second time, so they brought him and he was lashed again. I do not know if it was the third or fourth time, but he was ordered to be punished. He was put on a camel and I struck his neck.

أَنَّ أَبَا سُلَيْمَانَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا الرَّمْدَاءَ الْبَلَوِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَأَتَوْا بِهِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَضُرِبَ ثُمَّ شَرِبَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَأَتَوْا بِهِ فَضَرَبَهُ فَلَا أَدْرِي قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ أُمِرَ بِهِ فَجُعِلَ عَلَى الْعِجْلِ فَضَرَبْتُ عُنُقَهُ

[Machine] As for my sister, Umm Habiba, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ told me that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever prays twelve voluntary units of prayer during the day and night, excluding the obligatory prayers, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise." I have not abandoned them since I heard this.

أَمَا إِنَّ أُخْتِي أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَلَّى مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْفَرِيضَةِ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ» فَمَا تَرَكْتُهُنَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ


ذِكْرُ نِسْبَتِهِ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away and 'Adi ibn Hatim was entrusted with the charities of his people, meaning he was appointed by the Messenger of Allah."

[Machine] Utba bin Ghazwan was also known as Abu Abdullah or Abu Ghazwan. He was tall and handsome. He died at the age of 17 while heading towards Basra for the second time. He was buried in some water. He was fifty-five years old and an ally of the Bani Nawfal bin Abd Manat.

قُتَيْلَةُ بِنْتُ صَيْفِيٍّ الْجُهَنِيَّةُ

[Machine] A Jewish man and a scholar came to the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, you engage in shirk (associating partners with Allah) and you curse. You say 'No, by the Kaaba' and you say 'What Allah wills and you will'. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them to say, 'No, by the Lord of the Kaaba' and to say 'What Allah wills and then you will'."

جَاءَ يَهُودِيٌّ وَحَبْرٌ إِلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّكُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ وَإِنَّكُمْ تُنَدِّدُونَ تَقُولُونَ لَا وَالْكَعْبَةِ وَتَقُولُونَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ وَشِئْتَ فَأَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَقُولُوا «لَا وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ وَأَنْ يَقُولُوا مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ شِئْتَ»


رُقَيْقَةُ الثَّقَفِيَّةُ

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ came seeking victory in Ta'if, I entered upon Ali and brought him a drink made from barley. He said, "O Ruqayyah, do not worship their tyrant nor offer prayers for her." She said, "Then they will kill me." He said, "If they say that to you, then say, 'My Lord is the Lord of this tyrant.' And when you see her, turn your back to her." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left my presence.

الطبراني:٢١١٢٨حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ كَعْبٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي بِنْتُ رُقَيْقَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهَا رُقَيْقَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَبْتَغِي النَّصْرَ بِالطَّائِفِ دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ فَأَخْرَجْتُ لَهُ شَرَابًا مِنْ سَوِيقٍ فَقَالَ «يَا رُقَيْقَةُ لَا تَعْبُدِي طَاغِيَتَهُمْ وَلَا تُصَلِّي لَهَا» قَالَتْ إِذًا يَقْتُلُونِي قَالَ «فَإِذَا قَالُوا لَكِ فَقُولِي رَبِّي رَبُّ هَذِهِ الطَّاغِيَةِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتِهَا فَوَلِّها ظَهْرَكِ» ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ عِنْدِي

[Machine] Kulayb ibn Wail narrated to me that Rabeebah, the wife of the Prophet, ﷺ , who I believe was Zainab, said: "The Prophet, ﷺ , forbade the hunting of mongooses and the hunting of hedgehogs." He also mentioned "the naqir" in it.

ثنا كُلَيْبُ بْنُ وَائِلٍ حَدَّثَتْنِي رَبِيبَةُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَحْسَبُهَا زَيْنَبَ قَالَتْ «نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ» قَالَ وَأَرَى فِيهِ «النَّقِيرَ»

[Machine] Sarra bint Nabhan, who was a housewife during the pre-Islamic era, narrated to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during his farewell pilgrimage, "Do you know what day this is?" She replied, "It is the day you call the Day of Heads." They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "This is the middle of the days of Tashriq (the days following Eid al-Adha)." He then asked, "Do you know which land this is?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "This is the Holy Sanctuary." Then he said, "I do not know whether I will meet with you after this. Surely, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred to you, just as sacred as this day of yours, in this land of yours, until you meet your Lord and He asks you about your deeds. So let the one who is present convey this message to the one who is absent. Have I conveyed the message?" And when he arrived in Madinah, he didn't live long before he passed away.

الطبراني:٢١٢٤٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ثنا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حِصْنٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ قَالَ

حَدَّثَتْنِي سَرَّاءُ بِنْتُ نَبْهَانَ وَكَانَتْ رَبَّةَ بَيْتٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا؟» قَالَتْ وَهُوَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَ يَوْمَ الرُّوسِ قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «إِنَّ هَذَا أَوْسَطُ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ» قَالَ «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ بَلَدٍ هَذَا؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «إِنَّ هَذَا الْمَشْعَرُ الْحَرَامُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لِعَلِّي لَا أَلْقَاكُمْ بَعْدَ هَذَا أَلَا وَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ فَيَسْأَلُكُمْ عَنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ أَلَا فَلْيُبَلِّغْ أَدْنَاكُمْ أَقْصاكُمْ أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ» فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ لَمْ يَلْبَثْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا حَتَّى مَاتَ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , her name is Salma bint Qais. Ibn Numayr reported this from Yunus ibn Bukair, from Ibn Ishaq: "She prayed the two Qiblas (direction of prayer) with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ leaned on the daughter of Milhan and fell asleep, then he woke up laughing. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why are you laughing?" He said, "Because of a group of my nation who will ride and conquer the Green Sea. They are like kings on thrones." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to make me one of them." He said, "You are one of them." Then Ubada bin As-Samit married her and she went out with Ibn Qirata. When she mounted the animal, it threw her off and she died, then she was buried.

اتَّكَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عِنْدَ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ فَغَفَا فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِمَ تَضْحَكُ؟ فَقَالَ «مِنْ قَوْمٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ يَغْزُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ الْأَخْضَرَ مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ أَنْتِ مِنْهُمْ فَنَكَحَتْ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ فَخَرَجَتْ مَعَ ابْنِ قِرْطَةَ فَلَمَّا رَكِبَتْ وَقَصَتْ بِهَا دَابَّتُهَا فَمَاتَتْ ثُمَّ دُفِنَتْ

[Machine] I wrote to Nafi' asking him if the invitation came before the battle. So he wrote to me that it was at the beginning of Islam and that the Messenger of Allah destroyed the Banu Mustaliq tribe while they were in their fortress, and their water source was being used. So he killed their fighters and captured their captives, and among them was Juwayriyah bint al-Harith. Abdullah bin Muhammad narrated this to me, and he was in that army at that time.

كَتَبْتُ إِلَى نَافِعٍ أَسْأَلُهُ هَلْ كَانَتِ الدَّعْوَةُ قَبْلَ الْقِتَالِ؟ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ فِي أَوَّلِ الْإِسْلَامِ «وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَغَارَ عَلَى بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ وَهُمْ غَارُونَ وَنَعَمِهِمْ تُسْقَى فَقَتَلَ مُقَاتِلَهُمْ وَسَبَى سَبْيَهُمْ فَأَصَابَ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ» حَدَّثَنِي بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَكَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشِ

[Machine] Amir Al-Sha'bi narrated to me that Fatimah bint Qais, who was in the company of Abu Hafs bin Amr or Amr bin Hafs, came to the Prophet ﷺ asking about financial support and accommodation. He said to her, "Listen, O daughter of Qais," and pointed his hand, extending it towards part of his face as if he wanted to hide something from her, and it seemed like he was saying, "Be silent. Financial support is only the responsibility of a woman's husband, unless she has no means of recourse, then there is no financial support or accommodation for her. Go to Fulanah (a woman's name) or he said, Umm Shareek, and seek assistance from her." Then he said, "That is not a place where men gather or hold conversations, so seek assistance in the house of Ibn Um Maktum."

عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَبِي حَفْصِ بْنِ عَمْرِو أَوْ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَفْصٍ فَجَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي النَّفَقَةِ وَالسُّكْنَى فَقَالَ لَهَا «اسْمَعِي يَا ابْنَةَ قَيْسٍ» وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَمَدَّهَا عَلَى بَعْضِ وَجْهِهِ كَأَنَّهُ يَسْتَتِرُ مِنْهَا وَكَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ اسْكُتِي إِنَّمَا النَّفَقَةُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ عَلَى زَوْجِهَا مَا كَانَتْ عَلَيْهَا رَجْعَةٌ فَلَا نَفَقَةَ لَهَا وَلَا سُكْنَى ائْتِ فُلَانَةَ أَوْ قَالَ أُمَّ شَرِيكٍ فَاعْتَدِّي عِنْدَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ يُجْتَمَعُ إِلَيْهَا أَوْ قَالَ يُتَحَدَّثُ عِنْدَهَا اعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

"What an evil servant is the one who fancies himself and becomes vain forgetting the Most Great, the Most High. What an evil servant is the one who forces and behaves hostility, forgetting the Compeller, the Most High. What an evil servant is the one who is heedless and diverted, forgetting about the graves and the trials. What an evil servant is the one who is violent and tyrannical, forgetting his beginnings or his end. What an evil servant is the one who seeks the world through the religion. What an evil servant is the one who seeks the religion through his desires. What an evil servant is the one who puts all hope in his own zeal. What an evil servant is the worshipper who is misled by his desire. What an evil servant is the one whose aspirations humiliate him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2448)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ تَجَبَّرَ وَاعْتَدَى وَنَسِيَ الْجَبَّارَ الْأَعْلَى بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ بَخِلَ وَاخْتَالَ وَنَسِيَ الْكَبِيرَ الْمُتَعَالَ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ لَهَا وَسَهَا وَنَسِيَ الْمَبْدَأَ وَالْمُنْتَهَى بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ بَغَى وعَتَا وَنَسِيَ الْمَقَابِرَ وَالْبِلَا بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ يَخْتِلُ الدُّنْيَا بِالدَّيْنِ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ يَخْتِلُ الدِّينَ بِالشُّبُهَاتِ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ يُذِلُّهُ الرُّعْبُ وَيُزِيلُهُ عَنِ الْحَقِّ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ طَمَعٌ يَقُودُهُ بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدٌ لَهُ هَوًى يُضِلُّهُ»

[Machine] Her father met the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ while she was sitting next to him. He asked the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have made a vow to sacrifice a she-camel in Buwana." The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Is there an idol associated with it?" He replied, "No." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then fulfill your vow wherever you made it."

أَنَّ أَبَاهَا لَقِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهِيَ رَدِيفَةٌ لَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ بِبُوَانَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَلْ بِهَا وَثَنٌ؟» قَالَ لَهُ لَا قَالَ «فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ حَيْثُ نَذَرْتَ»


مَيْمُونَةُ بِنْتُ كَرْدَمٍ الثَّقَفِيَّةُ

«رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَكَانَتْ أُصْبُعُهُ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ لَهَا فَصْلٌ فِي الطُّوَلِ عَلَى الْإِبْهَامِ يَعْنِي مِنَ الرِّجْلِ»

[Machine] A green jar containing camphor was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He divided it among the Muhajirun and the Ansar and said, "O Umm Sulaim, keep it for us."

أُهْدِيَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَرَّةٌ خَضْرَاءُ فِيهَا كَافُورٌ فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ انْتَبِذِي لَنَا فِيهَا»

[Machine] Muawiyah did not give birth to a Qurayshi woman from the Quraysh tribe who was better in her religion than Muhammad ﷺ, and she did not give birth to a Qurayshi woman from the Quraysh tribe who was better in her worldly life than me. Then Ma'n ibn Yazid As-Sulami said, "Muawiyah did not give birth to a Qurayshi woman from the Quraysh tribe who was better in her religion than Muhammad ﷺ, and she did not give birth to a Qurayshi woman from the Quraysh tribe who was worse in her worldly life than you." He asked, "Why?" He replied, "Because you have accustomed them to something as if I am the one they have asked for it from, so you bring them swiftly in the streets." He said, "Woe to you! By Allah, I have kept it secret from myself since such and such a time."

الطبراني:١٧١٧٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بَكَّارَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ قَالَ قَالَ

مُعَاوِيَةُ مَا وَلَدَتْ قُرَشِيَّةٌ لِقُرَشِيٍّ خَيْرًا لَهَا فِي دِينِهَا مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَمَا وَلَدَتْ قُرَشِيَّةٌ لِقُرَشِيٍّ خَيْرًا لَهَا فِي دُنْيَاهَا مِنِّي فَقَالَ مَعْنُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ السُّلَمِيُّ مَا وَلَدَتْ قُرَشِيَّةٌ لِقُرَشِيٍّ خَيْرًا لَهَا فِي دِينِهَا مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَمَا وَلَدَتْ قُرَشِيَّةٌ لِقُرَشِيٍّ شَرًّا لَهَا فِي دُنْيَاهَا مِنْكَ قَالَ وَلِمَ؟ قَالَ لِأَنَّكَ عَوَّدْتَهُمْ عَادَةً كَأَنِّي بِهِمْ قَدْ طَلَبُوهَا مِنْ غَيْرِكَ فَتَأْتِي بِهِمْ صَرْعَى فِي الطُّرُقِ فَقَالَ وَيْحَكَ وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأُكَاتِمُهَا نَفْسِي مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ حَدَّثَ حَدِيثًا لَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُفْشَا عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَكْتِمْهُ صَاحِبُهُ»

[Machine] I said to Ata' that this incident occurred during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he informed me about Ibn Rawaha that he mediated between the Prophet ﷺ and the Jews, and they said, "If you want, it is for us, and if you want, it is for you." They said this and the heavens and the earth were established.

الطبراني:١٤٠٧٩ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ خَرَصَهُمْ هَذَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَنِي عَنِ ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ أَنَّهُ خَرَصَ بَيْنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبَيْنَ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَلَنَا وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ قَالُوا بِهَذَا قَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ

[Machine] About Muhammad ibn Ishaq, in the naming of the person who was martyred on the day of Hunayn with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the Quraysh and then from the Banu Asad, Yazid ibn Zam'a ibn al-Aswad ibn al-Muttalib fought him with a horse named al-Jannah and killed him.

عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ اسْتُشْهِدَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ يَزِيدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ جَمَحَ بِهِ فَرَسٌ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْجَنَاحُ فَقَتَلَهُ

[Machine] Beware, our youth, for Maymun or Mihran, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, informed me that he came across the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "O Maymun or Mihran, we are a household who have been prohibited from accepting charity, and our dependents are from among us, so do not eat charity."

الطبراني:١٨٠٣٤حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ كُلْثُومِ بِنْتُ عَلِيٍّ وَأَتَيْتُهَا بِصَدَقَةٍ كَانَ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَقَالَتْ

احْذَرْ شَبَابَنَا فَإِنَّ مَيْمُونًا أَوْ مِهْرَانًا مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا مَيْمُونُ أَوْ مِهْرَانُ إِنَّا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ نُهِينَا عَنِ الصَّدَقَةِ وَإِنَّ مَوَالِينَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا فَلَا تَأْكُلِ الصَّدَقَةَ»

[Machine] Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah ibn Abi 'Amir ibn Mas'ood ibn Mu'attib ibn Malik ibn Ka'b ibn 'Amr ibn Ma'di ibn 'Awf ibn Qais ibn Munabbihi, also known as Abu Abdullah. His mother was a woman from the Banu Nasr ibn Mu'awiyyah. He was the governor of Basra for about two years, and then became the governor of Kufa. He died in Kufa in the year fifty after the migration of the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ .

«الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَامِرِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ مُعَتِّبِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَعْدِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ يُكْنَى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ أُمُّهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي نَصْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلِيَ الْبَصْرَةَ نَحْوًا مِنْ سَنَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ وَلِيَ الْكُوفَةَ وَمَاتَ بِهَا سَنَةَ خَمْسِينَ أَوَّلُ مَشَاهِدِهِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْحُدَيْبِيَةُ»

«كُنْتُ رَافِعًا أَغْصَانَ الشَّجَرَةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ» فَبَايَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا يَفِرُّوا وَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَلْفٌ وَأَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ

[Machine] He informed him that he said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if I encounter a disbeliever and I fight him, and he cuts off my hand, then seeks refuge from me with a tree, and says, 'I have embraced Islam for the sake of Allah, should I kill him O Messenger of Allah, after he said that?' He said, 'Do not kill him, for if you kill him, you will be in the same position as him before he said the word he said.'"

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ فَقَاتَلْتُهُ فَقَطَعَ يَدِي ثُمَّ لَاذَ مِنِّي بِشَجَرَةٍ فَقَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِلَّهِ أَقْتُلَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَعْدَ أَنْ قَالَهَا؟ قَالَ «لَا تَقْتُلْهُ فَإِنَّكَ» إِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ فَإِنَّكَ بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُولَ كَلِمَتَهُ الَّتِي قَالَهَا

Al Miqdad bin Al Aswad reported that he said “Apostle of Allaah ﷺ tell me if I meet a man who is a disbeliever and he fights with me and cuts off one hand of mine with the sword and then takes refuge by a tree and says “I embraced Islam for Allah’s sake. Should I kill him, Apostle of Allaah ﷺ after he uttered it (the credo of Islam)? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said “Do not kill him”. I said “Apostle of Allaah ﷺ, he cut off my hand. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said, Do not kill him. I f you kill him, he will become like you before you kill him and you will become like him before he uttered his credo which he has uttered now. البيهقي:١٥٨٤٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ أنبأ جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْخِيَارِ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ فَقَاتَلَنِي وَضَرَبَ إِحْدَى يَدِيَّ بِالسَّيْفِ فَقَطَعَهَا ثُمَّ لَاذَ مِنِّي بِشَجَرَةٍ فَقَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِلَّهِ أَفَأَقْتُلُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَعْدَ أَنْ قَالَهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقْتُلْهُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ قَطَعَ يَدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ ذَلِكَ بَعْدَ أَنْ قَطَعَهَا أَفَأَقْتُلُهُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقْتُلْهُ فَإِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ؛ فَإِنَّهُ بِمَنْزِلَتِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْتُلَهُ وَإِنَّكَ بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُولَ كَلِمَتَهُ الَّتِي قَالَ

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ قُتَيْبَةَ وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ وُجُوهٍ أُخَرَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People will be mobilized into armies: an army in Yemen, an army in Sham (Syria), an army in the East, and an army in the West." A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a young man, and perhaps I will live to see that. Which one do you command me to join?" He replied, "You should go to Sham, as it is the chosen land of Allah, where He sends the best of His servants. You should go to Sham, for Allah has taken care of me and its people. So, whoever refuses, let him follow his own desires."

الطبراني:١٨٤٢٤حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السِّقْطِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ كِلَاهُمَا عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُجَنَّدُ النَّاسُ أَجْنَادًا جُنْدٌ بِالْيَمَنِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالشَّامِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ» قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي فَتًى شَابٌّ فَلَعَلِّي أُدْرِكُ ذَلِكَ فَأَيَّ ذَلِكَ تَأْمُرُنِي؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا صَفْوَةُ اللهِ مِنْ بِلَادِهِ يَسُوقُ إِلَيْهَا صَفْوَتَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِيَمَنِهِ

[Machine] Karamat, the daughter of Al-Husayn ibn Al-Harith ibn Abdullah ibn Ka'b Al-Mazini, told me that Abdullah ibn Ka'b, who was as heavy as the Prophet on the Day of Badr, said, "I heard my father narrating from Abu Ayyash Al-Zurqi, who heard from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who told me that Ka'b ibn Asim Al-Ash'ari said, 'I saw the Prophet ﷺ delivering a sermon during the middle days of the Hajj near the Jamrah.'"

الطبراني:١٦٥١٢حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّرَقِيُّ قَالَ

حَدَّثَتْنِي كَرَامَةُ بِنْتُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ كَعْبٍ عَلَى ثَقُلِ النَّبِيِّ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أبِي عَيَّاشٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ أَوْسَطَ أَيَّامِ الْأَضْحَى عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ»


مَا أَسْنَدَ كَلَدَةُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ

[Machine] He told him that Safwan ibn Umayyah sent him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with milk, yogurt, and butter. The Prophet ﷺ was in the upper part of the valley. So I entered without seeking permission or greeting. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go out and greet with peace upon you, shall I enter?" And that was after Safwan had embraced Islam. Abu Asim said, "Daghabis is a female camel located in the desert."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ بَعَثَهُ فِي الْفَتْحِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَبَنٍ وَجِدَايَةٍ وَضَغَابِيسَ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِأَعْلَى الْوَادِي فَدَخَلْتُ فَلَمْ أَسْتَأْذِنْ وَلَمْ أُسَلِّمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اخْرُجْ فَقُلِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَأَدْخُلُ؟ وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَمَا أَسْلَمَ صَفْوَانُ قَالَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ الضَّغَابِيسُ بَغْلَةٌ تَكُونُ فِي الْبَادِيَةِ


كَرْدَمُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ أَبُو مَيْمُونَةَ

[Machine] "Oh Messenger of Allah, listen to him," he said. "Where is the army of 'Uthran?" The Prophet ﷺ recognized that army and said, "I was in that army." Tariq ibn al-Muraqqi asked, "Who will give me a spear in reward?" I asked, "What is its reward?" He said, "The first daughter born to me, I will marry her to him." So I gave him my spear, but something happened and I lost it. Later, I heard that he had a daughter who had reached marriageable age, so I said to him, "Let me take her as a wife and she will be my reward." But he refused unless I paid him a dowry. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "How much can you afford to give him?" I said, "She has seen the Qatir." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is best for you not to commit a sin or make her commit a sin. Leave her and don't pursue it."

الطبراني:١٦٥٣٩حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَيْشِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي سَارَةُ بِنْتُ مِقْسَمٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ابْنَةِ كَرْدَمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهَا كَرْدَمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَأَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ عَامُ جَيْشِ عِثْرَانَ؟ قَالَ فَعَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشَ كُنْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشِ فَقَالَ طَارِقُ بْنُ الْمُرَقَّعِ مَنْ يُعْطِينِي رُمْحًا بِثَوَابِهِ؟ قُلْتُ وَمَا ثَوَابُهُ؟ فَقَالَ أَوَّلُ ابْنَةٍ تُولَدُ لِي أُزَوِّجُهُ إِيَّاهَا فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ رُمْحِي فَأَهْوَتْ عَنْهُ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ وُلِدَ لَهُ ابْنَةٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ فَقُلْتُ انْقُلْ إِلَيَّ أَهْلِي فَأَبَى إِلَّا بِصَدَاقٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَبِقَدْرِ أَيِّ النِّسَاءِ هِيَ؟» قَالَ قَدْ رَأَتِ الْقَتِيرَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «خَيْرٌ لَكَ أَنْ لَا تَأْثَمَ وَلَا تُؤْثِمَ دَعْهَا عَنْكَ»

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ with my son, and he asked, "What is his name?" So I said, "Fulan." He replied, "No, his name is Abdur Rahman."

الطبراني:١٥٣٣٤cحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا الصَّبَّاحُ بْنُ مُحَارِبٍ ثنا أَبُو حَمَّادٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لِي فَقَالَ «مَا اسْمُهُ؟» فَقُلْتُ فُلَانٌ قَالَ بَلْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ with my son, and he said, "What is his name?" I replied, "His name is Fulan (a certain name)." He said, "No, his name is Abdul Rahman (servant of the Most Merciful)."

الطبراني:١٥٣٣٤dحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا الصَّبَّاحُ بْنُ مُحَارِبٍ ثنا أَبُو حَمَّادٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لِي فَقَالَ «مَا اسْمُهُ؟» فَقُلْتُ فُلَانٌ قَالَ بَلْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ


عَمْرُو بْنُ أَوْسٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as part of a delegation from Thaqeef. He used to come out to us at night and talk to us. One night he was delayed in coming out to us, so we said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have been delayed tonight." He said, "A portion of the Quran was revealed to me, and I disliked to sever it until I completed it." When morning came, we asked the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ how they divided the Quran into portions. They said, "Three, five, seven, nine, eleven, thirteen, and everything between Qaf and Al-Quran Al-Majeed is a good way to divide." This is how Al-Walid bin Muslim narrated from Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman At-Ta'ifi from Uthman bin Amr bin Aws from his father, and this was also opposed by Waki' and Quran bin Tamaam and others who narrated from Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman from Uthman bin Amr bin Aws from his father from his grandfather, Aws bin Hudhayfah.

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَفْدِ ثَقِيفٍ فَكَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَيْنَا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيُحَدِّثُنَا فَأَبْطَأَ عَلَيْنَا ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَقَدْ أَبْطَأْتَ إِلَيْنَا اللَّيْلَةَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ طَرَأَ عَلَيَّ حِزْبِي مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أقْطَعَهُ حَتَّى أَفْرُغَ مِنْهُ» فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا سَأَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَيْفَ يُحَزِّبُونَ الْقُرْآنَ؟ فَقَالُوا ثَلَاثٌ وَخَمْسٌ وَسَبْعٌ وَتِسْعٌ وَإِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ وَثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَمَا بَيْنَ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ إِلَى آخِرِ الْمُفَصَّلِ حِزْبٌ حَسَنٌ هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطَّائِفِيِّ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَخَالَفَهُ وَكِيعٌ وقُرَّانُ بْنُ تَمَّامٍ وَغَيْرُهُمَا فَرَوَوْهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَوْسِ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ sent him to Yemen, he asked him, "How will you judge if a case is presented to you?" He said, "I will judge according to the Book of Allah." He asked, "And if you find nothing in the Book of Allah?" He said, "Then I will judge according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He asked, "And if you find nothing in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "I will exert my own effort to the best of my ability." He ﷺ then tapped his chest and said, "Praise be to Allah who has aided the messenger of the Messenger of Allah to what pleases the Messenger of Allah."

الطبراني:١٧٥٦٠حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَمْرِو ابْنِ أَخِي الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ قَالَ لَهُ «كَيْفَ تَقْضِي إِنْ عَرَضَ لَكَ قَضَاءٌ؟» قَالَ أَقْضِي بِكِتَابِ اللهِ قَالَ «فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ؟» قَالَ فَبِسُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟» قَالَ أَجْتَهِدُ رَأْيِي وَلَا آلُو قَالَ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَدْرَهُ وَقَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَفَّقَ رَسُولَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِمَا يُرْضِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ»

[Machine] About Ibn Ishaq, regarding the naming of those who witnessed the Battle of Badr, Mu'adh ibn 'Afra' is mentioned. He is Mu'adh ibn al-Harith ibn Rifaa'ah ibn Sa'adah ibn Malik ibn Ghanm ibn Malik ibn al-Najar. His mother is 'Afrah, who is the mother of 'Awf and Mu'awwadh, all of whom witnessed the Battle of Badr. 'Afrah bint 'Ubayd ibn Tha'labah ibn Ghanm ibn Malik ibn al-Najjar is also mentioned.

[Machine] Shall I not inform you of how your Prophet ﷺ used to pray? We said, "Yes." So he came forward and performed two quick units of prayer, in which he made his movements shorter. Then, Abu Qilabah and I differed in how we bent our knees. I said, "I stick close to the ground," while Abu Qilabah said, "I extend my knees."

الطبراني:١٦٧٥٦حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ثنا أُنَيْسُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ أَبُو زِيَادٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبِي كُنْتُ أَنَا وَأَبُو قِلَابَةَ جَالِسَيْنِ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ فَقَالَ

أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ كَيْفَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي نَبِيُّكُمْ ﷺ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ فَتَقَدَّمَ وَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ أَوْجَزَ فِيهِمَا فَاخْتَلَفْتُ أَنَا وَأَبُو قِلَابَةَ فِي رُكْبَتَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أَلْزَقَ بِالْأَرْضِ وَقَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ يُجَافِي

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let people harm each other, but when your brother advises you, advise him."

الطبراني:١٦٧٨٧وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَعُوا النَّاسَ يُصِيبُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ فَإِذَا اسْتَنْصَحَكَ أَخُوكَ فَانْصَحْ لَهُ»

[Machine] Muawiyah died in the year sixty and his age was between seventy and eighty.

الطبراني:١٦٧٩١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَدِينِيُّ فَسْتَقَةَ ثنا أَبُو زَيْدٍ عُمَرُ بْنُ شَبَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ

«مَاتَ مُعَاوِيَةُ سَنَةَ سِتِّينَ وَسِنُّهُ بِضْعٌ وَسَبْعُونَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ»

[Machine] Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah divided his wealth among his sons and then passed away while his wife was pregnant, and he did not know about her pregnancy. She gave birth to a boy. Umar and Abu Bakr sent for Qais ibn Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah regarding this matter. Qais said, "As for what Sa'd divided and executed, I will not reconsider it, but my share is for him." I asked, "Did he divide according to the Book of Allah?" He said, "We found that they would not divide except according to the Book of Allah."

الطبراني:١٦٠٣٥حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ

أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ §قَسَّمَ مَالَهُ بَيْنَ بَنِيهِ ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ وَامْرَأَتُهُ حُبْلَى لَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِحَبَلِهَا فَوَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا فَأَرْسَلَ عُمَرُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَمْرٌ قَسَمَهُ سَعْدٌ وَأَمْضَاهُ فَلَنْ أَعُودَ فِيهِ وَلَكِنْ نَصِيبِي لَهُ قُلْتُ أَعْلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ قَسَّمَ؟ قَالَ لَا نَجِدُهُمْ كَانُوا يَقْسِمُونَ إِلَّا عَلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ ﷻ


قَتَادَةُ بْنُ دِعَامَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ

[Machine] Abu Muslim, a sheikh who used to be in the mosque of Hammam, narrated from Qatadah, from Muawiyah ibn Qurrah, from his father who said: "During the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , we used to be expelled (from praying) between the pillars."

الطبراني:١٦١٥١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ

ثنا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ شَيْخٌ كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مَسْجِدِ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ «كُنَّا نُطْرَدُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ بَيْنَ السَّوَارِي»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Khaybar, "Tomorrow, I will give the flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him." He then called Ali and gave it to him.

الطبراني:١٥٧٤٨حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ سَلِيطِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ الْحَنَفِيِّ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرٍ «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ غَدًا رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» فَدَعَا عَلِيًّا فَأَعْطَاهَا إِيَّاهُ
