[Machine] Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah ibn Abi 'Amir ibn Mas'ood ibn Mu'attib ibn Malik ibn Ka'b ibn 'Amr ibn Ma'di ibn 'Awf ibn Qais ibn Munabbihi, also known as Abu Abdullah. His mother was a woman from the Banu Nasr ibn Mu'awiyyah. He was the governor of Basra for about two years, and then became the governor of Kufa. He died in Kufa in the year fifty after the migration of the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ .  

الطبراني:١٨٠٥٣حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ

«الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَامِرِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ مُعَتِّبِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَعْدِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ يُكْنَى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ أُمُّهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي نَصْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلِيَ الْبَصْرَةَ نَحْوًا مِنْ سَنَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ وَلِيَ الْكُوفَةَ وَمَاتَ بِهَا سَنَةَ خَمْسِينَ أَوَّلُ مَشَاهِدِهِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْحُدَيْبِيَةُ»
