42. Chapter of Zay (Female)
[Machine] Kulayb ibn Wail narrated to me that Rabeebah, the wife of the Prophet, ﷺ , who I believe was Zainab, said: "The Prophet, ﷺ , forbade the hunting of mongooses and the hunting of hedgehogs." He also mentioned "the naqir" in it.
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'When you go out for the evening, do not return perfumed.'"
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'If one of you wants to attend 'Isha' prayer, let her not touch perfume.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5129)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you visits the mosque, do not touch any fragrance."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: When any one of you comes to the mosque, she should not apply perfume. (Using translation from Muslim 443b)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: When any one of you comes to the mosque, she should not apply perfume. (Using translation from Muslim 443b)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Which of you has gone out to the mosque, so do not touch any fragrance."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us and said, "Which one of you has observed the evening prayer (Maghrib prayer) and has not touched any fragrance?"
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give charity even from your ornaments." So Zainab said to Abdullah, "Does it count for me to make my charity for you and for the orphans of my brother?" Abdullah had a small income, so he said, "Ask the Prophet ﷺ about it." So Zainab went to the Prophet ﷺ and encountered a woman from the Ansar. Zainab asked her, "She came to ask what I came to ask about." Bilal then came out to us, so we said to him, "Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and do not inform him of who we are. Does it count for me to make my charity for my husband and for the orphans of my brother?" Bilal then went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned it to him. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Which Zainab is this?" He said, "The wife of Abdullah bin Mas'ud and a woman from the Ansar." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Tell her that she will have two rewards: the reward of charity and the reward of maintaining family ties."
[Machine] Bilal went out, so we said to him, "Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ if it suffices for us to give from our expenses for the expenses of our wives and what our chambers contain." So Bilal entered and asked the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, "There are two rewards: the reward of charity and the reward of maintaining family ties."
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, do I have any reward for giving charity on behalf of the child of Abdullah, other than myself?" He said, "You will have two rewards."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us while we were in the mosque and said, "O gathering of women, give charity" and he mentioned the Hadith.
[Machine] Oh Abu Abdurrahman, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Ali while I was in the company of some Ansari women. He said, "Give something in charity, even if it is from your jewelry." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, "If I spend on you and on my nephew, will it be sufficient for me as a charity? Or should I spend it in the way of Allah?" He replied, "I am embarrassed to ask for it, so ask him yourself." So, I came to the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and there was a woman from the Ansar, whose need was the same as mine. Bilal came to us, and we said to him, "O Bilal, offer our greetings to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and inform him that we have wives and children. If our spending on them and on our brothers is considered charity, then it will be sufficient for us. Otherwise, we will spend in the way of Allah." So, Bilal went in and informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he said, "Convey my greetings to them and inform them that their spending on their wives and brothers' children is considered as double reward, both as maintaining family ties and as charity."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, giving charity to relatives is rewarded twice."
