[Machine] Halimah bint Abi Dhuayb al-Sa'diyyah, the nursing mother of the Prophet ﷺ , informed me that she said, "We were afflicted with a year of drought in which nothing was left for us. So we set out, a group of women from the tribe of Sa'd ibn Bakr, to seek nursing in Makkah. When we arrived in Makkah, there was not a single woman among us whom the Prophet of Allah ﷺ did not propose to marry. Some accepted and some refused. This was because he had no father and the Arabs used to hope for goodness from their fathers. The women used to say, 'What will I do with him? How can his mother, who is like my mother, dislike him?' So, he was offered to me, and I accepted him. There was not a woman from my people who did not find a nursing infant. When they were about to return to their lands, I feared that I would go back without an infant. So, I said to my husband, 'If I were to take that orphaned boy, it would be better than going back without a nursing infant.' So, I went to his mother and took him from her, and I brought him to my home. I had a son whom I was nursing, and he used to stay awake at night due to hunger and would not sleep. But when I placed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on my bosom, he would suckle from me until he was satisfied. He suckled, and his brother also confirmed this. Then he went to sleep and my husband woke up in the middle of the night to go to Sham (Syria). I feared that they would both starve. So, I said to him, 'Take him to his people before any harm comes to him.' He said, 'O daughter of Wahb! I think that this boy is blessed. Then he informed me of what the fortune teller had told him, so I informed him of what I had seen with my own eyes. We set out on our animals. They used to say that we left nothing that resembled a red camel except that they would complain to it, saying, 'Woe to you! Where are you going, being led by the shepherd of the daughter of Abi Dhuayb?' This continued until there was a day when we were behind our houses in Bani Sa'd. As we were playing, his brother came running to us and said, 'That Quraishi boy has been killed. So we hurried to reach him, me and his father. When we arrived, we found him lying motionless. His father took him from me and said, 'I don't see this boy except that he has been harmed. Take him back to his family before things get worse for us.' I didn't have any inclination to do so, until I took him to his mother in Makkah and I said to her, 'O Zahrah! I have weaned my son and he has been freed from the illness. So, return him to his family.' She said, 'Why are you in such a hurry to get rid of him? Weren't you asking me to leave him with you? It's as if you feared that Satan would harm him. First, let me tell you about me and him. When I gave birth to him, I saw a light emanating from me that illuminated the castles of Busra in Sham.'"

[Machine] Habiba bint Sahl was married to Thabit bin Qais bin Shammah al-Ansari. She disliked him, and he was a brave man. She went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I cannot stand him, and if it were not for the fear of Allah, I would spit in his face." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her if she would return to him the garden that he had given her as a dowry. She said yes, so he sent for him and she returned the garden to him, and they separated. This was the first divorce in Islam.

So, perform ablution.' She used to perform ablution for every prayer, and she used to wash herself in the sink, and you would see a yellowish discharge in the sink."

[Machine] "I used to have a long, heavy menstrual period, so I went to the Prophet ﷺ to seek his advice and inform him about it. I found him in my sister Zainab's house, so I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have a need.' He said, 'What is it? May Allah facilitate it for you.' I said, 'I have a long, heavy menstrual period that prevents me from praying and fasting. What should I do?' He said, 'Use a piece of cloth called a qursuf, as it takes away the blood.' I said, 'It is more than that.' He said, 'Then use a tampon.' I said, 'It is more than that.' He said, 'Then wear a cloth.' She said, 'It is more than that, O Messenger of Allah. It only stops during the hajj ministration.' He said, 'I will tell you two options; whichever one you choose and do, you will be exempted from the other. If you can handle both of them, then you know your situation best.' He said, 'This is a rukhsah (dispensation) from among the dispensations of Satan.' He said, 'You will menstruate for six or seven days, according to the knowledge of Allah, then take a bath. When you see that you have become pure and are certain about it, then pray twenty-four nights and days, or three and twenty nights and days, and fast. This will be sufficient for you.' He said, 'Do this every month, like how women menstruate and become pure according to their menstrual and purification times. If you are able to delay the Dhuhr (noon) prayer and hasten the Asr (afternoon) prayer, then take a bath for both of them. If you are able to delay the Maghrib (sunset) prayer and hasten the Isha (evening) prayer, then take a bath for both of them. Combine between the prayers and take a bath with the Fajr (dawn) prayer. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is worse than that, as I get heavy bleeding." He said, "Enter the state of ritual impurity, seek forgiveness, and menstruate according to the knowledge of Allah. Every month, for six or seven days, then perform ghusl, fast, and pray three days, or twenty-three or twenty-four. Delay Dhuhr prayer and hasten Asr prayer, and perform ghusl for both of them. And perform ghusl for Fajr prayer. This is the most beloved of the two matters to me."

[Machine] I had severe heavy bleeding, so I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to seek his advice and ask him. I found him in the house of my sister Zainab bint Jahsh, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a need for you." He asked, "What is it? What do you want?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is a matter that I feel shy to mention." He asked again, "What is it? What do you want?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have severe and frequent menstruation, which prevents me from praying and fasting." He told me, "Wear a menstrual pad, as it removes the blood." I said, "The bleeding is more than that." He said, "Then I will give you two options, whichever one you choose will suffice for the other. And if you can do both, then you know best. This is only a trick from Satan. So pray twenty-four nights and their days, and fast, and that will suffice for you. And do the same every month as women do during their menstruation and purification periods. And if you can delay Dhuhr prayer and hasten Asr prayer, and then perform ghusl (ritual bath) before them and pray Dhuhr and Asr together, and delay Maghrib prayer and hasten Isha prayer, and combine between the prayers, do so. And perform ghusl with Fajr prayer and pray it in the same way. And pray and fast if you can manage it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And this one is more pleasing to me."

However, Thabit had a violent temper and he hit her, causing her to suffer bruises. She went to the door of the Prophet's ﷺ house in distress. The Prophet ﷺ came out and asked, "Who is she?" She replied, "I am Habibah, O Messenger of Allah, not me, but Thabit." Thabit then arrived and the Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Did you hit her?" Thabit admitted it and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Give her something [as compensation]." Habibah said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have everything he has given me." The Prophet ﷺ then took something from her and she returned to her home.

Upon hearing this, the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ filled with tears and he said, "He spoke the truth, for who is more deserving of justice than me, the Messenger of Allah? By the sanctity of Allah, a nation will not be honored if the weak do not receive their rights from the strong, and the strong do not protect them." Then he said, "O Khawla, fulfill his rights and give it to him, for there is no enemy who comes out of his enemy's presence satisfied, except that the beasts of the land and the fish of the sea pray for him, and there is no enemy who oppresses his enemy, except that Allah writes a sin against him for every day and night."
