[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I wanted to forbid the practice of fostering children, but then I noticed that the Persians and the Romans foster their children and it does not harm them in any way."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغِيَالِ فَإِذَا فَارِسُ وَالرُّومُ يُغِيلُونَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ شَيْئًا»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the Farewell Hajj, "Give charity, even if it is from your adornments, for you are the majority of the dwellers of Hell." Then Zainab came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my husband is in need. Is it permissible for me to return to him?" He said, "Yes, you will have two rewards."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ تَصَدَّقْنَ وَلَوْ مِنْ حُلِيِّكُنَّ فَإِنَّكُنَّ أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَأَتَتْ زَيْنَبُ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ زَوْجِي مُحْتَاجٌ فَهَلْ يَجُوزُ لِي أَنْ أَعُودَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ «نَعَمْ لَكِ أَجْرَانِ»  

The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) changed the name of ‘Asiyah and called her Jamilah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4952)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَيَّرَ اسْمَ عَاصِيَةَ وَقَالَ «أَنْتِ جَمِيلَةُ»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ go out for prayer shaking off the henna from his head and beard.  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ يَنْفُضُ رَأْسَهُ وَلِحْيَتَهُ مِنْ رَدْعِ الْحِنَّاءِ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik who narrated from Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi who narrated from Abdullah ibn Abd al-Hakam who narrated from Bakr ibn Sahl who narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf who said, "I am Malik who narrated from Abu al-Aswad Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Nawfal who narrated from Uruwah ibn al-Zubayr who narrated from Ju'damah bint Wahb al-Asadiyyah. She said, 'She informed me that she heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, 'I had intended to prohibit ghaylah (the act of nursing a child to establish a foster relationship) until I remembered that the Persians and Romans do it and it does not harm their children.'"  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَا أَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ جُدَامَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ قَالَتْ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغَيلَةِ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ أَنَّ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ يَصْنَعُونَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ»  

[Machine] I attended the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among a group of people. He said, "I had intended to forbid the 'ghaylah' (a type of drink), but when I looked at the Persians and the Romans, I saw them allowing their children to consume it without harming them.” Then they asked him about 'al-azl' (coitus interruptus). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "That is the secret provision, and it is (when the sperm is deserted, the child will be asked)"  

حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَاسٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغَيلَةِ فَنَظَرْتُ فِي فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ فَإِذَا هُمْ يُغِيلُونَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاكَ الْوَأْدُ الْخَفِيُّ وَهُوَ (إِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ)  

[Machine] My father took me to the Prophet ﷺ after I had responded to my father's camels. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for the blessing of my daughter." The Prophet ﷺ sat me in his room, placed his hand on my head, and prayed for me with blessings.  

ذَهَبَ بِي أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَعْدَمَا رَدَدْتُ عَلَى أَبِي الْإِبِلَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ لِبِنْتِي هَذِهِ بِالْبَرَكَةِ قَالَتْ «فَأَجْلَسَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي حِجْرِهِ وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِي وَدَعَا لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ»  

[Machine] I was with Umm Salamah, the mother of the believers, during the Farewell Pilgrimage when I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "O my people, have I conveyed the message to you?" I replied, "Yes." Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "O son, does your mother call you?" I said, "Yes." Then he said, "O my son, he means his people when he says that your honor, your wealth, and your blood are forbidden to each other, just as the sanctity of this day of yours is forbidden in this land of yours, in this month of yours."  

كُنْتُ مَعَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَا أُمَّتَاهُ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُكُمْ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ بُنَيٌّ لَهَا يَا أُمَّهْ مَا لَهُ يَدْعُو أُمَّهُ؟ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا بُنَيُّ إِنَّمَا يَعْنِي أُمَّتَهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «أَلَا إِنَّ أَعْرَاضَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ وَدِمَاءَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "The best century is my century."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «خَيْرُ الْقَرْنِ قَرْنِي»  

[Machine] "Jameela, the daughter of Umayyah bin Salul, came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have no issue with Thabit bin Qais in terms of his character or religion, but I cannot tolerate his animosity towards me and I hate disbelief in Islam.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, 'Would you return his garden to him?' She replied, 'Yes.' So the Prophet ﷺ commanded Thabit to take from her what he had given her and not ask for more."  

أَنَّ جَمِيلَةَ بِنْتَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ سَلُولٍ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَا أَعْتِبُ عَلَى ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ فِي خُلُقٍ وَلَا دِينٍ وَلَكِنِّي لَا أُطِيقُهُ بُغْضًا وَأَكْرَهُ الْكُفْرَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَرُدِّينَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ مِنْهَا مَا سَاقَ إِلَيْهَا وَلَا يَزْدَادُ  

[Machine] Jameela, the daughter of Ubayy ibn Salul, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have no complaint about Thabit in his character or religion, but I hate disbelief in Islam." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, "Do you want to return his garden to him?" She replied, "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned his garden to him. Jameela bint Thabit ibn Abi Al-Aflah Al-Ansariyyah, the wife of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, was separated from him.  

أَنَّ جَمِيلَةَ بِنْتَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ سَلُولٍ أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَعْتِبُ عَلَى ثَابِتٍ فِي خُلُقٍ وَلَا دِينٍ وَلَكِنْ أَكْرَهُ الْكُفْرَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَرُدِّينَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَرَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ وَفَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَهُمَا جَمِيلَةُ بِنْتُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَفْلَحِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ امْرَأَةُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ
