[Machine] "Safiyyah was disappointed that she had confined us, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her, 'What is that?' Aisha Safiyyah replied, 'She is menstruating.' He said, 'Would that be the case?' They returned to Ibn Abbas and said, 'We found the narration as she had informed us.'"  

لِصَفِيَّةَ أَفِي الْخَيْبَةِ أَنْتِ إِنَّكِ لَحَابِسَتُنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا ذَلِكَ؟» فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ صَفِيَّةُ حَاضَتْ قَالَ قِيلَ إِنَّهَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ قَالَ فَلَا إِذًا قَالَ فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالُوا وَجَدْنَا الْحَدِيثَ عَلَى مَا حَدَّثَتْنَا  

[Machine] When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ waged the Battle of Badr, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, permit me to accompany you so that I may tend to your wounds and care for your sick, in the hope that Allah may bless me with martyrdom." He replied, "Stay in your home, for Allah will grant you martyrdom." She was known as Ash-Shahidah (the female martyr) and she had already memorized the Quran. She sought the permission of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to allocate a place in her house where she could pray, and he granted her permission.  

لَمَّا غَزَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَدْرًا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ائْذَنْ لِي أَنْ أَغْزُوَ مَعَكَ أُدَاوِي جَرْحَاكُمْ وَأُمَرِّضَ مَرْضَاكُمْ لَعَلَّ اللهُ يَرْزُقَنِي شَهَادَةً فَقَالَ قَرِّي فِي بَيْتِكِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَرْزُقُكِ الشَّهَادَةَ وَكَانَتْ تُسَمَّى الشَّهِيدَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ قَرَأَتِ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَأْذَنَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ فِي دَارِهَا مَوْضِعًا تُصَلِّي فَأَذِنَ لَهَا  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: 'O Abu Ayyub, indeed the divorce of the mother of Ayyub is final and irrevocable.'"  

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا أَيُّوبَ إِنَّ طَلَاقَ أُمِّ أَيُّوبَ حَوْبٌ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ visited her and she said, 'So we prepared food for him, in which we put these kinds of vegetables.' Sufyan al-Kurath and others said: He disliked it and said to his companions, 'Eat, for I am not like any of you. I fear that I may harm my companion.'"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهَا قَالَتْ فَصَنَعْنَا لَهُ طَعَامًا فِيهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْبُقُولِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ الْكُرَّاثُ وَغَيْرُهُ فَكَرِهَهُ وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «كُلُوا فَإِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ أُؤْذِيَ صَاحِبِيَ»  

[Machine] She asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Will we recognize each other when we die and see each other?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "The fragrance will be like a bird that clings to the tree until on the Day of Judgment, every soul will enter its body."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَتَزَاوَرُ إِذَا مِتْنَا وَيَرَى بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَكُونُ الْمَنْسِمُ طَيْرًا تَعَلَّقَ بِالشَّجَرِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ دَخَلَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ فِي جَسَدِهَا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no obligation of Zakat upon someone until a year has passed on their wealth."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ عَلَى مَنِ اسْتَفَادَ مَالًا زَكَاةٌ حَتَّى يَحُولَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ»  

[Machine] "She participated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Khaybar along with six women. The Prophet ﷺ was informed about this, so he sent for them and asked, 'By whose permission did you go out?' I saw anger in his face, so we said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we went out and with us is medicine to treat the injured, we supply the arrows, we provide water for the soldiers, we spin wool, and we assist in the path of Allah.' He told us to stay, and when Allah granted him victory over Khaybar, he distributed the spoils among us as he did among the men. I said, 'What was the reason for that?' She replied, 'Dates.'"  

أَنَّهَا غَزَتْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ سَادِسَةَ سِتِّ نِسْوَةٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ بِإِذْنِ مَنْ خَرَجْتُنَّ؟ وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهِ الْغَضَبَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا وَمَعَنَا دَوَاءٌ نُدَاوِي بِهِ الْجَرْحَى وَنُنَاوِلُ السِّهَامَ وَنَسْقِي السَّوِيقَ وَنَغْزِلُ الشَّعْرَ وَنُعِينُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَالَ لَنَا أَقِمْنَ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ خَيْبَرَ قَسَمَ لَنَا كَمَا قَسَمَ لِلرِّجَالِ قُلْتُ فَمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَتْ تَمْرًا  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah and greeted him, but he did not respond and remained silent. Sa'd regretted this and said to me, "Go and inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we remained silent out of hope that he would give us more." So I went and told the Prophet ﷺ what had happened. He came and greeted us at the door; I could hear his voice but could not see him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Who are you?" I replied, "I am Umm Mildam." He said, "Neither welcome nor greetings to you."  

أَتَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ فَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَسَكَتَ قَالَتْ فَنَدِمَ سَعْدٌ فَقَالَ لِي ائْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبِرِيهِ أَنَّا سَكَتْنَا عَنْهُ رَجَاءَ أَنْ يَزِيدَنَا قَالَتْ فَجَاءَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْبَابِ أَسْمَعُ صَوْتَهُ وَلَا أَرَاهُ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا أَنْتِ؟» قَالَتْ أَنَا أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ قَالَ «أَنْتِ فَلَا مَرْحَبًا بِكِ وَلَا أَهْلًا»  

[Machine] She brought a container of honey to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Bilal to press it, then he gave it back to her. She returned and found it full, so she came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Something has come down on me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "What is that, O Umm Malik?" She said, "Why did you return my gift to me?" So he called Bilal and asked him about that. He said, "By the One Who has sent you with the truth, I pressed it until I felt ashamed." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Congratulations, O Umm Malik, this is a blessed gift. May Allah hasten its reward. Then he taught her to say after every prayer: Subhanallah ten times, Alhamdulillah ten times, Allahu Akbar ten times."  

أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِعُكَّةِ سَمْنٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَالًا فَعَصَرَهَا ثُمَّ دَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهَا فَرَجَعَتْ فَإِذَا هِيَ مُمْتَلِئَةٌ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ نَزَلَ فِيَّ شَيْءٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا أُمَّ مَالِكٍ؟» فَقَالَتْ لِمَ رَدَدْتَ إِلَيَّ هَدِيَّتِي فَدَعَا بِلَالًا فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَقَدْ عَصَرْتُهَا حَتَّى اسْتَحْيَيْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَنِيئًا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ مَالِكٍ هَذِهِ بَرَكَةٌ عَجَّلَ اللهُ ثَوَابَهَا ثُمَّ عَلَّمَهَا فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ عَشْرًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَشْرًا وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ عَشْرًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not cast aside dates and raisins, but take each of them individually."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَنْبِذُوا التَّمْرَ وَالزَّبِيبَ وَانْتَبِذُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَتِهِ  

[Machine] "I witnessed Aminah when she gave birth to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When labor pains struck her, I looked at the stars hanging low, so much so that I said they might fall upon me. But when she gave birth, a light emerged from her that illuminated the house we were in and the whole neighborhood. There was nothing I looked at except for light."  

«شَهِدْتُ آمِنَةَ لَمَّا وَلَدَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا ضَرَبَهَا الْمَخَاضُ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى النُّجُومِ تَدَلَّى حَتَّى إِنِّي أَقُولُ لَتَقَعَنَّ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا وَلَدَتْ خَرَجَ مِنْهَا نُورٌ أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْبَيْتُ الَّذِي نَحْنُ فِيهِ وَالدَّارُ فَمَا شَيْءٌ أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ إِلَّا نُورٌ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, our spouses prevent us from praying with you and we love to pray with you." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your prayers in your homes are better than your prayers in your rooms, and your prayers in your rooms are better than your prayers in your courtyards, and your prayers in your courtyards are better than your prayers in congregation."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يَمْنَعُنَا أَزْوَاجُنَا أَنَّ نُصَلِّيَ مَعَكَ وَنُحِبُّ الصَّلَاةَ مَعَكَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاتُكُنَّ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُنَّ فِي حُجُرِكُنَّ وَصَلَاتُكُنَّ فِي حُجُرِكُنَّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُنَّ فِي دُورِكُنَّ وَصَلَاتُكُنَّ فِي دُورِكُنَّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُنَّ فِي الْجَمَاعَةِ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her and she had a bowl hanging. So he went towards it and drank from it, and then she went towards the bowl and cut it."  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهَا فَشَرِبَ مِنْ فَمِهَا فَقَامَتْ إِلَى فَمِ الْقِرْبَةِ فَقَطَعَتْهَا»  

[Machine] I brought barbecued shoulders to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he ate from them. Then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution.  

«قَرَّبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَتِفًا مَشْوِيَّةً فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»  

[Machine] She came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the house of Umm Salamah, and there were some people sitting with him. I sat until they left, then I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I will not leave any matter that enlightens me in my religion and brings me closer to Allah, without asking about it. What do you think about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees? Should she perform ghusl (ritual cleansing)?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If she sees water, then she should perform ghusl." Umm Salamah said, "May your hands be rubbed with soil, O Umm Sulaym! You have embarrassed the women." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rather, may your hands be rubbed with soil. If it were not for that, a child would not resemble his mother."  

أَنَّهَا أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ رَهْطٌ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ فَجَلَسْتُ حَتَّى خَرَجُوا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَنْ أَدَعَ أَمْرًا يُفَقِّهُنِي فِي دِينِي وَيُقَرِّبُنِي مِنَ اللهِ أَنْ أَسْأَلَ عَنْهُ أَرَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمَرْأَةُ تَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ أَتَغْتَسِلُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكِ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ فَضَحْتِ النِّسَاءَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَلْ تَرِبَتِ يَدَاكِ أَنْتِ لَوْلَا ذَلِكَ مَا أَشْبَهَ الْوَلَدُ أُمَّهَ»  

[Machine] I entered upon Aisha and asked, "Where is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" She said, "He is in the house, receiving revelation." So I stayed as long as Allah willed, then I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "O Aisha, this is Jibril (Gabriel), ﷺ , conveying greetings to you."  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَتْ فِي الْبَيْتِ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَكَثْتُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ أَمْكُثَ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا عَائِشَةُ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكِ السَّلَامَ»  

[Machine] "What is wrong with them?" I said, "Let them lend her a garment. But when it was demanded from them, they shrunk back in aversion." He said, "Evil is that which they have done." So I said, "This is your son." He said, "No doubt, you do not overcome me concerning patience tonight." So when it was morning, he went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He (the Prophet) said, "O Allah, bless them in their night, for I have seen in the mosque after that, seven individuals, all of them having recited the Quran."  

وَمَا لَهُمْ؟ قُلْتُ أُعِيرُوا عَارِيَةً فَلَمَّا طُلِبَتْ مِنْهُمْ جَزَعُوا قَالَ بِئْسَ مَا صَنَعُوا فَقُلْتُ هَذَا ابْنُكَ قَالَ لَا جَرَمَ لَا تَغْلِبِينِي عَلَى الصَّبْرِ اللَّيْلَةَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ غَدًا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي لَيْلَتِهِمْ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ لَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ سَبْعَةً كُلُّهُمْ قَدْ قَرَأُوا الْقُرْآنَ»  

[Machine] She asked for the permission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when she reached the state of menstruation or postpartum bleeding after the day of sacrifice, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted her permission, so she left.  

أَنَّهَا «اسْتَفْتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَحَاضَتْ أَوْ وَلَدَتْ بَعْدَمَا أَفَاضَتْ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَخَرَجَتْ»  

[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, advise me." He said, "Abandon sin, as it is the best form of migration. And fulfill the obligatory duties, as they are the best form of striving. And remember Allah frequently, as there is nothing more beloved to Him than abundant remembrance."  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوْصِنِي قَالَ «اهْجُرِي الْمَعَاصِيَ فَإِنَّهَا أَفْضَلُ الْهِجْرَةِ وَحَافِظِي عَلَى الْفَرَائِضِ فَإِنَّهَا أَفْضَلُ الْجِهَادِ وَأَكْثِرِي مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ فَإِنَّكِ لَا تَأْتِي اللهَ بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ كَثْرَة ذِكْرِهِ»  

[Machine] She said, "I have learned the rules while they were praying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «أَدْرَكْتُ الْقَوَاعِدَ وَهُنَّ يُصَلِّيَنَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] The grave of Umm Haram bint Milhan is in Cyprus, and they say, "This is the grave of the righteous woman."  

قَبْرُ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ بِقُبْرُسَ وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ هَذَا قَبْرُ الْمَرْأَةِ الصَّالِحَةِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I entered Paradise and heard a sound, so I said, 'What is this?' They said, 'It is the footsteps of al-Rumaysa bint Milhan.'"  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْفَةً فَقُلْتُ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقَالُوا الرُّمَيْصَاءُ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and heard a rustling sound in front of me, and behold, it was Ghumaysa bint Milhan."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ خَشْفَةً فَإِذَا أَنَا بِالْغُمَيْصَاءِ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ»  

Um Haram told me that the Prophet ﷺ one day took a midday nap in her house. Then he woke up smiling. Um Haram asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What makes you smile?" He replied "I was astonished to see (in my dream) some people amongst my followers on a sea-voyage looking like kings on the thrones." She said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Invoke Allah to make me one of them." He replied, "You are amongst them." He slept again and then woke up smiling and said the same as before twice or thrice. And she said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Invoke Allah to make me one of them." And he said, "You are amongst the first batch." 'Ubada bin As-Samit married her (i.e. Um Haram) and then he took her for Jihad. When she returned, an animal was presented to her to ride, but she fell down and her neck was broken. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2894)  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمًا فِي بَيْتِهَا فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا يُضْحِكُكَ؟ قَالَ «عَجِبْتُ مِنْ قَوْمٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ الْبَحْرَ كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ قَالَ «أَنْتِ مِنْهُمْ» ثُمَّ نَامَ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقَالَ لِي مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا وَأَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَيَقُولُ «أَنْتِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينِ» قَالَ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ فَخَرَجَ بِهَا إِلَى الْغَزْوِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَتْ قُرِّبَتْ لَهَا دَابَّةٌ لِتَرْكَبَهَا فَوَقَعَتْ فَانْدَقَّتْ عُنُقُهَا  

[Machine] I was sleeping near the Prophet ﷺ and I was not far from him, so I woke up and he was praising Allah. So I asked him and he said, "Some people from my nation were shown to me who were riding on the green sea like kings on thrones." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to make me one of them." So he supplicated to Allah.  

كُنْتُ نَائِمَةً عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَنَا مِنْهُ غَيْرُ بَعِيدَةٍ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يُسَبِّحُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ الْبَحْرَ الْأَخْضَرَ كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَدَعَا اللهَ ﷻ  

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was speaking in my house, he suddenly woke up laughing. I asked him, "O' my father, what is making you laugh?" He replied, "Some people from my nation were shown to me riding on the back of this sea like kings on thrones." So I said, "Pray to Allah to make me among them." He said, "O Allah, make her among them." Then he fell asleep again and woke up laughing. I asked him again, "O' my father and mother, what is making you laugh?" He replied, "Some people from my nation were shown to me riding on the back of this sea like kings on thrones." So I said, "Pray to Allah to make me among them." He said, "You are from the first ones." She then went on a military expedition with her husband Ubada bin As-Samit, and when they were about to depart, she rode a fast gray camel she owned, and it died.  

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِلٌ فِي بَيْتِي إِذِ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ قُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ مَا يُضْحِكُكَ؟ قَالَ «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ ظَهْرَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» فَقُلْتُ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ نَامَ أَيْضًا فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي مَا يُضْحِكُكَ؟ قَالَ «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ ظَهْرَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ كَالْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» فَقُلْتُ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ أَنْتِ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ فَغَزَتْ مَعَ زَوْجِهَا عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ فَلَمَّا قَفَلَتْ رَكَضَتْهَا بَغْلَةٌ لَهَا شَهْبَاءُ فَمَاتَتْ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ leaned on the daughter of Milhan and fell asleep, then he woke up laughing. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why are you laughing?" He said, "Because of a group of my nation who will ride and conquer the Green Sea. They are like kings on thrones." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to make me one of them." He said, "You are one of them." Then Ubada bin As-Samit married her and she went out with Ibn Qirata. When she mounted the animal, it threw her off and she died, then she was buried.  

اتَّكَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عِنْدَ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ فَغَفَا فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِمَ تَضْحَكُ؟ فَقَالَ «مِنْ قَوْمٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ يَغْزُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ الْأَخْضَرَ مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ أَنْتِ مِنْهُمْ فَنَكَحَتْ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ فَخَرَجَتْ مَعَ ابْنِ قِرْطَةَ فَلَمَّا رَكِبَتْ وَقَصَتْ بِهَا دَابَّتُهَا فَمَاتَتْ ثُمَّ دُفِنَتْ  

[Machine] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The first army of my Ummah to wage Jihad in this sea has already fulfilled their obligation." So Umm Haram said, "O Messenger of Allah, am I among them?" He replied, "Yes, you are among them." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The first army of my Ummah to conquer the city of Caesar (Constantinople) will be forgiven." So Umm Haram said, "O Messenger of Allah, am I among them?" He said, "No."  

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَوَّلُ جَيْشٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَغْزُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ قَدْ أَوْجَبُوا» فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ «أَنْتِ مِنْهُمْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَّلُ جَيْشٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَغْزُونَ مَدِينَةَ قَيْصَرَ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُمْ» فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالَ لَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the conquerors of the sea and said, "The reward of the martyr is for the one who dies in battle, and the reward of the one who drowns is doubled." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them." He said, "O Allah, make her one of them." Then she mounted the sea, and when she came out, she rode on a camel and it fell down and died.  

ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غُزَاةَ الْبَحْرِ فَقَالَ «لِلْمَائِدِ أَجْرُ شَهِيدٍ وَلِلْغَرِيقِ أَجْرُ شَهِيدَيْنِ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا مِنْهُمْ» فَرَكِبَتِ الْبَحْرَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَتْ رَكِبَتْ دَابَّةً فَسَقَطَتْ فَمَاتَتْ  

[Machine] There was a woman who was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day while he was sleeping. When he woke up, he was laughing, so she said, "O Messenger of Allah, perhaps you are laughing at me?" He said, "No, a group of people from my nation were shown to me who ride the sea as warriors in the cause of Allah. Their example is like the kings on thrones." She said, "Then she slept and woke up laughing. She said, "What makes you laugh, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "A group of people were shown to me who ride the sea as warriors in the cause of Allah, and then they return with little of their spoils forgiven for them." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, make her one of them."  

عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ كَانَتْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقَالَتْ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ لَعَلَّكَ تَضْحَكُ مِنْ رَأْسِي؟ قَالَ لَا «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ الْبَحْرَ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ» قَالَتْ ثُمَّ نَامَ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقَالَتْ مَاذَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ قَوْمٌ يَرْكَبُونَ الْبَحْرَ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُونَ قَلِيلَةً غَنَائِمُهُمْ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُمْ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا مِنْهُمْ»  

[Machine] About Umm Waraqah bint Abdullah ibn Al-Harith Al-Ansariyyah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit her and call her "the martyr." She had collected the Quran, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was going to fight in the Battle of Badr, she asked him for permission to go with him to treat their wounds and care for their sick, hoping that Allah will bestow martyrdom upon her. He replied, "Indeed, Allah will grant you martyrdom." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed her to lead the people of her household in prayer, and she had a mu'adhin (caller to prayer). She led the people of her household in prayer until a slave girl and a young boy came to her and killed her during the caliphate of Umar. When it was reported to him that Umm Waraqah had been killed by her slave and her maid, he stood amongst the people and said, "Indeed, Umm Waraqah was attacked by her slave and her maid, and they killed her. They have fled, so catch them." They were apprehended and crucified, becoming the first people to be crucified in Madinah. Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth. He used to say, 'Let us go visit the martyr.'"  

عَنْ أُمِّ وَرَقَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَزُورُهَا وَيُسِمِّيهَا الشَّهِيدَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ جَمَعَتِ الْقُرْآنَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ غَزَا بَدْرًا قَالَتْ لَهُ تَأْذَنُ لِي فَأَخْرُجَ مَعَكَ أُدَاوِي جَرْحَاكُمْ وَأُمَرِّضَ مَرْضَاكُمْ لَعَلَّ اللهَ يَهْدِي لِي شَهَادَةً قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ يَهْدِي لَكِ شَهَادَةً وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَؤُمَّ أَهْلَ دَارِهَا وَكَانَ لَهَا مُؤَذِّنٌ وَكَانَتْ تَؤُمُّ أَهْلَ دَارِهَا حَتَّى عَدَا عَلَيْهَا جَارِيَةٌ وَغُلَامٌ لَهَا كَانَتْ دَبَرَتْهُمَا فَقَتَلَاهَا فِي إِمَارَةِ عُمَرَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّ أُمَّ وَرَقَةَ قَدْ قَتَلَهَا غُلَامُهَا وَجَارِيَتُهَا فَقَامَ فِي النَّاسِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّ وَرَقَةَ عَدَا عَلَيْهَا غُلَامُهَا وَجَارِيَتُهَا فَقَتَلَاهَا وَإِنَّهُمَا هَرَبَا فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا فَصَلَبَهُمَا فَكَانَا أَوَّلَ مَصْلُوبَيْنِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ عُمَرُ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ انْطَلِقُوا نَزُورُ الشَّهِيدَةَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived from Maghz (a place) having obtained a servant as a captive. So, I and my sister went and entered upon Fatimah, then we went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him to love us and mentioned our needs to him. He said, "You have preceded me in taking care of the orphans of Badr."  

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ مَغْزًى وَقَدْ أَصَابَ رَقِيقًا فَذَهَبْتُ أَنَا وَأُخْتِي فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ فَذَهَبْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ أَنْ يُحْبِيَنَا وَذَكَرْنَا حَاجَاتِنَا فَقَالَ سَبَقَكُمْ يَتَامَى أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ  

[Machine] "We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and part of what he enjoined upon us was to perform ghusl (ritual washing) and use perfumed oils, and not to stain our hands with dye."  

«بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ نَخْتَضِبَ الْغمسَ وَنَمْتَشِطَ بِالْعَسَلِ وَلَا نَقْحَلُ أَيْدِينَا مِنْ خِضَابٍ»  

[Machine] I heard my aunt saying, "I witnessed Umm Layla dyeing her armor, veil, and veil cover once every month. She would also dye her body and feet with henna. She said, 'On this occasion, we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' I also saw her holding two gold bracelets in her hand, and they thought it was part of the booty. Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Layla used to dye them for her."  

سَمِعْتُ عَمَّتِي تَقُولُ أَدْرَكْتُ أُمَّ لَيْلَى تَصْبُغُ لَهَا دِرْعِهَا وَخِمَارَهَا وَمِلْحَفَهَا فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً وَتَخْضُبُ بَدَنَهَا وَرِجْلِيهَا غَمْسَةً وَقَالَتْ عَلَى هَذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ وَرَأَيْتُهَا وَفِي يَدِهَا مَسَكَتَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَكَانُوا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهَا مِنَ الْفَيْءِ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى يَصْبُغُ لَهَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us that if one of us is capable of carrying two handfuls of silver in her hands, then she should do so. And if she is not able, then she should drag her hands, even if it is a short distance, and he ﷺ said, "Do not resemble men."  

أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا كَانَتْ إِحْدَانَا تَقْدِرُ أَنْ تَتَّخِذَ فِي يَدِهَا مِسْكَتَيْنِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَقْدِرْ فَصَدَّتْ يَدَيْهَا وَلَوْ بِسَيْرٍ وَقَالَ «لَا تَشَبَّهْنَ بِالرِّجَالِ»  

[Machine] Uthman bin Mazhun passed away, and the Prophet (PBUH) entered upon him. I said, "May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Sa'ib, I bear witness to your nobility that Allah has honored you." The Prophet (PBUH) said, "And how do you know that Allah has honored him?" I said, "I do not know." He said, "As for him, he has received certainty from his Lord. By Allah, I am the Messenger of Allah and I do not know what will happen to me or to you." I said, "By Allah, I will not praise anyone after him." Then I saw the eye of Uthman moving in his sleep, so I asked the Prophet (PBUH), and he said, "That is his action."  

تُوُفِّيَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ رَحِمَكَ اللهُ أَبَا السَّائِبِ شَهَادَتِي عَلَيْكَ فَلَقَدْ أَكْرَمَكَ اللهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ أَنَّ اللهَ أَكْرَمَهُ» ؟ قُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي قَالَ أَمَّا هُوَ فَقَدْ جَاءَهُ الْيَقِينُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَاللهِ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمْ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ لَا أُزَكِّي بَعْدَهُ أَحَدًا قَالَتْ ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ عَيْنًا لِعُثْمَانَ تَجْرِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ عَمَلُهُ  

[Machine] About Umm Al-'Ala', she was a woman from their womenfolk who had pledged allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ . She said, "Uthman ibn Mazh'un has passed away, so we shrouded him in his garments. Then the Prophet ﷺ came, and I said, 'May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Al-Sa'ib, my testimony upon you. Allah has indeed honored you.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'And what do you know about him? For certainty has reached him, and by Allah, I hope for good for him. And I do not know what Allah will do with him.' So, I said, 'By Allah, I will never praise anyone after him.' His statement silenced me. But when I slept, I saw an eye flowing tears for Uthman ibn Mazh'un. So I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, 'That is his deed.'"

عَنْ أُمِّ الْعَلَاءِ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِمْ قَدْ بَايَعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَتْ تُوُفِّيَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي أَثْوَابِهِ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ رَحِمَكَ اللهُ أَبَا السَّائِبِ شَهَادَتِي عَلَيْكَ لَقَدْ أَكْرَمَكَ اللهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ أَمَّا هُوَ فَقَدْ أَتَاهُ الْيَقِينُ وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو لَهُ الْخَيْرَ وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يَفْعَلُ اللهُ بِهِ» فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ لَا أُزَكِّي بَعْدَهُ أَحَدًا أَبَدًا فَأَخْرَسَنِي قَوْلُهُ فَلَمَّا نِمْتُ رَأَيْتُ عَيْنًا تَجْرِي لِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «ذَاكَ عَمَلُهُ»  

[Machine] When the Muslims arrived in the city, they sought out the houses. This one would stay with this one, and among them was Uthman ibn Mazhun who stayed with a woman from the Ansar. He complained, so the Prophet ﷺ reprimanded him. He agreed to separate, and the woman said, "I bear witness against you, Abu Sa'ib, that Allah has honored you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "What makes you say that?"  

لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْمَدِينَةَ اسْتَهَمُوا الْمَنَازِلَ فَصَارَ هَذَا يَنْزِلُ عَلَى هَذَا وَكَانَ مِنْهُمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ نَزَلَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَاشْتَكَى فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَعُودُهُ فَوَافَقَ أَنْ قَضَى فَقَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ شَهَادَتِي عَلَيْكَ أَبَا السَّائِبِ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَكْرَمَكَ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ visited her during her illness and said, "Rejoice, O Umm Al-Ala, for indeed the illness of a Muslim removes his sins as fire removes impurities from iron."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي مَرَضِهَا فَقَالَ «أَبْشِرِي يَا أُمَّ الْعَلَاءِ فَإِنَّ» مَرَضَ الْمُسْلِمِ يُذْهِبُ خَطَايَاهُ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ النَّارُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ  

[Machine] "I have memorized Surah Qaf and the noble Quran from the messenger of Allah ﷺ and indeed he used to recite it on Fridays from the pulpit."  

«حَفِظْتُ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَإِنَّهُ لَيَقْرَأُ بِهَا فِي الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ»  

[Machine] We stayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a month, and we had nothing for them or for us except one oven in which we bake. "So I memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the surahs that he recited on the pulpit on Fridays."  

مَكَثْنَا وَآلُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا وَمَا لَنَا وَلَهُمْ إِلَّا تَنُّورٌ وَاحِدٌ نَخْبِزُ فِيهِ «فَحَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ق مِمَّا يَقْرَأُ بِهَا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»  

[Machine] "I memorized from the Prophet ﷺ the Qunut supplication in the Fajr prayer."  

«حَفِظْتُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ق فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ»  

[Machine] We stayed for two years, or a year and some months. Our tannur (oven) and the tannur of the Prophet ﷺ were one, and I did not memorize Q and the Noble Qur'an except from the tongue of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, as he used to recite it to the people every Friday when he delivered the sermon.  

مَكَثْنَا سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ سَنَةً وَبَعْضَ سَنَةٍ وَإِنَّ تَنُّورَنَا وَتَنُّورَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَاحِدٌ وَمَا «حَفِظْتُ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ إِلَّا مِنْ لِسَانِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَؤُهَا عَلَى النَّاسِ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ إِذَا خَطَبَ»  

[Machine] Our tannour and the tannour of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were the same for two years, or a year and some parts of a year, and I did not learn Q or the Noble Qur'an except from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who used to recite it every Friday when addressing the people.  

لَقَدْ كَانَ تَنُّورُنَا وَتَنُّورُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَاحِدًا سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ سَنَةً وَبَعْضَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا «أَخَذْتُ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ إِلَّا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا كُلَّ جُمُعَةٍ إِذَا خَطَبَ النَّاسَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, "I saw my Lord in a dream, in the form of a dignified young man, wearing two golden sandals and on His face, there was a golden crown."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ رَبِّي فِي الْمَنَامِ فِي صُورَةِ شَابٍّ مُوَقَّرٍ فِي خَضِرٍ عَلَيْهِ نَعْلَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَعَلَى وَجْهِهِ فِرَاشٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ» الْحَدِيثَ  

[Machine] Umm al-Taful to Umayr ibn Ka'b, do you not inform Umar of the saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Subay'ah bint al-Harith, when she gave birth after the death of her husband by a few days, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her to a man?  

أُمُّ الطُّفَيْلِ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَلَا تُخْبِرُ عُمَرَ بِقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِسُبَيْعَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ لَمَّا وَضَعَتْ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِأَيَّامٍ فَأَنْكَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and asked for permission repeatedly, but he was not responded to. So he returned and said, "Sa'd, go to the Messenger of Allah and convey my greetings to him and inform him that we ignored him because we thought he wanted to ask for more. So I went to him and while I was sitting next to him, something came and knocked on the door. He asked, 'Who are you?' She said, 'Umm Mildam.' He said, 'Neither welcome, nor greetings.'"  

أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ مِرَارًا فَلَمْ يُرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ فَرَجَعَ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ ائْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ فَاقْرَئِي عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ وَأَخْبِرِيهِ إِنَّمَا سَكَتْنَا عَنْهُ أَنْ يَزِيدَنَا فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَبَيْنَا أَنَا قَاعِدَةٌ عِنْدَهُ إِذْ جَاءَ شَيْءٌ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتِ؟ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ فَقَالَ «لَا مَرْحَبًا وَلَا أَهْلًا»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came and sought permission but Sa'd remained silent. Then the Prophet ﷺ left. Sa'd sent me to him and said that we did not prevent you from seeking permission except that we wanted you to increase us. I heard a voice outside the door seeking permission, but I did not see anything. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who are you?" She said, "I am Umm Mildam." He said, "No welcome or greetings. Are you bringing a gift for the people of Quba?" She said, "Yes." He said, "Then go to them."  

جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ فَسَكَتَ سَعْدٌ ثُمَّ عَادَ فَسَكَتَ سَعْدٌ فَانْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَتْ فَأَرْسَلَنِي سَعْدٌ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنَا أَنْ نَأْذَنَ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ تَزِيدَنَا قَالَتْ فَسَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا عَلَى الْبَابِ يَسْتَأْذِنُ وَلَا أَرَى شَيْئًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَنْتِ؟» فَقَالَتْ أَنَا أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ فَقَالَ لَا مَرْحَبًا وَلَا أَهْلًا أَتُهْدِينَ إِلَى أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبِي إِلَيْهِمْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Uthman ibn Mazh'un while he was dying, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a cloth, it was placed on him, and Uthman was in the house of a woman from the Ansar named Umm Mu'adh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed for a long time with him, and his companions were with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ moved away and wept. When he wept, the people of the household wept, so he said, "May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Sa'ib." And Sa'ib had fought alongside him in Badr. Then Umm Mu'adh said, "Congratulations to you, Abu Sa'ib, on Paradise." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "And how do you know, O Umm Mu'adh? As for him, certainty has come to him, and we only know goodness." She said, "No, by Allah, I will never say it to anyone after him."  

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِثَوْبٍ فَسُجِّيَ عَلَيْهِ وَكَانَ عُثْمَانُ نَازِلًا عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ فَمَكَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُكْثًا طَوِيلًا عَلَيْهِ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَكَى فَلَمَّا بَكَى بَكَى أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ «رَحِمَكَ اللهُ أَبَا السَّائِبِ» وَكَانَ السَّائِبُ قَدْ شَهِدَ مَعَهُ بَدْرًا قَالَ فَتَقُولُ أُمُّ مُعَاذٍ هَنِيئًا لَكَ أَبَا سَائِبِ الْجَنَّةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكِ يَا أُمَّ مُعَاذٍ؟» أَمَّا هُوَ فَقَدْ جَاءَهُ الْيَقِينُ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ إِلَّا خَيْرًا قَالَتْ لَا وَاللهِ لَا أَقُولُهَا لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding the mixture of dates, dried yogurt, and fresh dates. He said, "Drink each one separately."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْخَلِيطَيْنِ التَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ وَقَالَ اشْرَبُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَتِهِ
