[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned a tribulation and said, "The best of you in it and the best of people in it is a man who isolates himself in his wealth, worships Allah, and gives his due, and a man who takes hold of the bridle of his horse, frightening the enemy and being feared by them."  

ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِتْنَةً فَقَالَ «خَيْرُكُمْ فِيهَا وَخَيْرُ النَّاسِ فِيهَا رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي مَالِهِ يَعْبُدُ اللهَ وَيُعْطِي حَقَّهُ وَرَجُلٌ أَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ يُخِيفُ الْعَدُوَّ وَيُخِيفُونَهُ»  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ throwing the Jamarat al-Aqabah on the Day of Sacrifice from the valley and he was saying, 'O people, do not kill one another, and throw stones similar to the size of a pebble.' He then left without stopping, and a man behind him was protecting him from the people. So I said, 'Who is this?' They said, 'Al-Fadl ibn Abbas.'"  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَرْمِي جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِيِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَقْتُلْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا وَارْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ فَرَمَى سَبْعًا» ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَلَمْ يَقِفْ وَخَلْفَهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقَالُوا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ  

[Machine] A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the meat of domestic donkeys. He replied, "Isn't it grazing on plants and eating trees?" The man said, "Yes." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then its meat is permissible."  

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ أَلَيْسَ تَرْعَى الْكَلَأَ وَتَأْكُلُ الشَّجَرَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَصِبْ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet say, "Hasten the breaking of the fast and delay the pre-dawn meal (suhoor)."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُ «عَجَّلُوا الْإِفْطَارَ وَأَخَّرُوا السُّحُورَ»  

[Machine] I brought a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but the Prophet's wives refused to accept it, saying that they do not accept gifts. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said, "Take the gift of Umm Sunbulah, for she is from our Bedouin people and we are the people of her city." He then gave it to her, and Abdullah bin Hasan bin Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Talib bought it from her. He gave her a certain amount of money for it. Amr bin Qayziyya said, "I saw some of it." Abu Kurayb said, "I asked Zaid bin Al-Hubab, who gave it to her?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ."  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَأَبَيْنَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنْ يَأْخُذْنَهَا وَقُلْنَ إِنَّا لَا نَأْخُذُ هَدِيَّةً فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ خُذُوا هَدِيَّةَ أُمِّ سُنْبُلَةَ فَهِيَ أَهْلُ بَادِيَتِنَا وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ حَضْرَتِهَا وَأَعْطَاهَا وَادِي كَذَا وَكَذَا فَاشْتَرَاهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَسَنِ بْنِ حَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ مِنْهَا قَالَ فَأَعْطَاهَا ذَوْدًا قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ قَيْظِيٍّ فَرَأَيْتُ بَعْضَهَا قَالَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قُلْتُ لِزَيْدِ بْنِ الْحُبَابِ مَنْ أَعْطَاهَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ  

[Machine] She brought the Prophet ﷺ a cup of sweat and he wiped his face with it while he was in the mosque of Bani Abid Al-Ashhal. Then he stood up and prayed without performing ablution.  

أَنَّهَا «أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِعَرَقٍ فَتَعَرَّقَهُ وَهُوَ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my eyes overpower me and prevent me from performing the night prayers (Al-Isha)?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hurry up, O Umm Anas, when the night fills the belly of every valley, the time for prayer has come. So, pray, and there is no sin on you."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عَيْنِيَ تَغْلِبُنِي عَنْ عِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عَجِّلِيهَا يَا أُمَّ أَنَسٍ إِذَا مَلَأَ اللَّيْلُ بَطْنَ كُلِّ وَادٍ فَقَدْ حَلَّ وَقْتُ الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلِّي وَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْكِ»  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "May Allah place you in the highest companion of Paradise, and I be with you. O Messenger of Allah, teach me a righteous deed that I can do." He said, "Establish prayer, for indeed it is the best form of striving, and abandon sins, for indeed it is the best form of migration, and remember Allah abundantly, for indeed it is the most beloved of deeds to Allah that you meet Him with."  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ جَعَلَكَ اللهُ فِي الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَنَا مَعَكَ وَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلِّمْنِي عَمَلًا صَالِحًا أَعْمَلُهُ فَقَالَ «أَقِيمِي الصَّلَاةَ فَإِنَّهَا أَفْضَلُ الْجِهَادِ وَاهْجُرِي الْمَعَاصِي فَإِنَّهَا أَفْضَلُ الْهِجْرَةِ وَاذْكُرِي اللهَ كَثِيرًا فَإِنَّهُ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ أَنْ تَلْقِينَهُ بِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of people during a trial is a man who abstains from his wealth and worships his Lord and fulfills his rights, and a man who takes hold of the reins of his horse in the cause of Allah, causing fear among the enemy and being fearful of them."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي مَالِهِ يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ وَيُؤَدِّي حَقَّهُ وَرَجُلٌ أَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ يُخِيفُهُمْ وَيُخِيفُونَهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Who are the best people in times of turmoil?" He replied, "A man who holds onto the reins of his horse, fearing the enemy and being feared by them." Then a man said to Ta'awwus, "O Abu Abdur-Rahman, who is the enemy?" He said, "The polytheists."  

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ؟ قَالَ «رَجُلٌ أَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ قَدْ أَخَافَ الْعَدُوَّ وَأَخَافُوهُ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِطَاوُوسٍ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَيُّ عَدُوٍّ؟ قَالَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ  

[Machine] She offered him fat and he put it in a container. Then she presented it to the Prophet ﷺ, and he accepted it and took what was in it and prayed for blessings for her. They returned it to her, and it was still filled with fat. She thought that the Prophet ﷺ did not accept it, so she went to the Prophet ﷺ while screaming. He said, "Tell her the story," and she ate from it until the end of the Prophet's ﷺ lifetime, and the caliphate of Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, until there was a dispute between Ali and Muawiyah that had never happened before.  

أَنَّهَا سَلَّتْ سَمْنًا لَهَا فَجَعَلَتْهُ فِي عُكَّةٍ ثُمَّ أَهْدَتْهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَبِلَهُ وَأَخَذَ مَا فِيهِ وَدَعَا لَهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَرَدُّوهَا عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ مَمْلُوءَةٌ سَمْنًا فَظَنَّتْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا فَجَاءَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلَهَا صُرَاخٌ فَقَالَ «أَخْبَرُوهَا بِالْقَصَّةِ» فَأَكَلَتْ مِنْهُ بَقِيَّةَ عُمُرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَوِلَايَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَوِلَايَةِ عُمَرَ وَوِلَايَةِ عُثْمَانَ حَتَّى كَانَ بَيْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ مَا كَانَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Marwan, who was sent to Umm Maqil, informed me that she said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am an old woman and I have become sick. Is there any action that can make up for my inability to perform Hajj?" He said, "Perform Umrah in Ramadan, it will make up for you."  

أَخْبَرَنِي رَسُولُ مَرْوَانَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ إِلَى أُمِّ مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ فَقَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ قَدْ كَبِرْتُ وَقَدْ سَقِمْتُ فَهَلْ عَمَلٌ يُجْزِئُ عَنِّي مِنْ حَجَّتِي؟ فَقَالَ «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ تُجْزِئُ عَنْكِ»  

[Machine] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "What is an equivalent to Hajj?" He said, "Performing Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَعْدِلُ الْحَجَّ؟ قَالَ «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Maqil has passed away and we had a camel that Abu Maqil had bequeathed for the sake of Allah." He said, "Why don't you go out on it, meaning for Hajj?"  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلَكَ أَبُو مَعْقِلٍ وَكَانَ لَنَا جَمَلٌ وَأَوْصَى بِهِ أَبُو مَعْقِلٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ «هَلَّا خَرَجْتِ عَلَيْهِ يَعْنِي فِي الْحَجِّ»  

[Machine] "I was among those who traveled with Marwan ibn Al-Hakam to visit Umm Maqil, and I was among those who entered her company with him when this incident happened."  

«كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ رَكِبَ مَعَ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ إِلَى أُمِّ مَعْقِلٍ وَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ النَّاسِ مَعَهُ حِينَ حَدَثَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ»  

[Machine] "To perform Hajj with the Prophet ﷺ , but she was not prepared for it, so she asked the Prophet ﷺ what should she do instead? He said, 'Perform Umrah in Ramadan.'"  

أَنْ تَحُجَّ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمْ تَهَيَّأْ لَهَا فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا يُجْزِئُهَا؟ فَقَالَ «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ»  

[Machine] She asked the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "I have prepared myself for Hajj, and it was presented to me." The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Perform 'Umrah in Ramadan, for 'Umrah during it is equivalent to Hajj."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ تَجَهَّزْتُ لِلْحَجِّ فَعَرَضَ لِي فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اعْتَمِرِي فِي رَمَضَانَ فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِيهِ كَحَجَّةٍ»  

[Machine] Abu Maqil died and left behind a camel dedicated for the sake of Allah. So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Maqil has died and left behind a camel dedicated for the sake of Allah. Do I have any obligation?" He replied, "O mother of Maqil, the obligation of the Hajj is upon your camel, for indeed the Hajj is from the way of Allah."  

مَاتَ أَبُو مَعْقِلٍ وَتَرَكَ بَعِيرًا جَعَلَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبَا مَعْقِلٍ هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ بَعِيرًا جَعَلَهُ فِي السَّبِيلِ وَعَلَيَّ حَجَّةٌ؟ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ مَعْقِلٍ حُجِّي عَلَى بَعِيرَكِ فَإِنَّ الْحَجَّ مِنْ سَبِيلِ اللهِ»  

[Machine] I wanted to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, so I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for his permission. He said, "Perform 'Umrah in the month of Ramadan, as performing 'Umrah in the month of Ramadan equals a Hajj pilgrimage."  

أَرَدْتُ الْحَجَّ فَضَلَّ بَعِيرِي فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «اعْتَمِرِي فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ أَنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have vowed to perform Hajj, but I have a non-viable camel." He said, "Perform 'Umrah in Ramadan, for 'Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَحُجَّ وَلِي جَمَلٌ أَعْجَفُ فَقَالَ «اعْتَمِرِي فِي رَمَضَانَ فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ كَحَجَّةٍ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to perform Hajj, and my camel is unable to carry me." He said, "Perform 'Umrah in Ramadan, as the 'Umrah in Ramadan is equal to Hajj."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ وَجَمَلِي أَعْجَفُ فَقَالَ «اعْتَمِرِي فِي رَمَضَانَ فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ كَحَجَّة»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perform 'Umrah during Ramadan, for it is equal to Hajj."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اعْتَمِرِي فِي رَمَضَانَ فَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon me while I was in a dome made of Adamantium. He said to me, "How beautiful it is, even if it does not contain a dead body, as I would have made it more spacious."  

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِي قُبَّةٍ لِي مِنْ أدمٍ فَقَالَ لِي «مَا أَحْسَنَهَا إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَجَعَلْتُ أَشُقُّهَا»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon me while I was in a dome and said, "What a good dome it is if there were no dead person inside it."  

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِي قُبَّةٍ فَقَالَ «نِعْمَ الْقُبَّةُ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا مَيْتَةٌ»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon in Mina. He had wrapped his garment around him, and a muscle in his arm was twitching as he said, "O people, fear Allah and listen and obey, even if a slave from Abyssinia were made your leader. Listen and obey as long as he establishes among you the Book of Allah, the Exalted."  

أَنَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ بِمِنًى قَدِ الْتَحَفَ بِثَوْبِهِ وَإِنَّ عَضَلَةَ عَضُدِهِ تَرْتَجُّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجَدَّعٌ فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ تَعَالَى»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He was on his mount and his mount was moving. Al-Husayn was with me in my chamber, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had hidden his robe under his armpit. He was saying, "O people, fear Allah and listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader. For he among you who lives long will see many differences. So for you is to observe my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-guided successors, and holding on to it with your molar teeth. Beware of newly invented matters, for every invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray, and every going astray is in Hellfire."  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَهُوَ عَلَى رَحْلِهِ وَرَاحِلَتِهِ وَحُصَيْنٌ فِي حِجْرِي وَقَدْ أَدْخَلَ ثَوْبَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا لِمَنْ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَبْدًا حَبَشِيًّا مُجَدَّعًا فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Hajj and I heard him reminding and commanding them. From what I heard him say, he said, "A black servant will be assigned to you from Abyssinia. He will recite the Book of Allah to you, so listen to him and obey him."  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يُذَكِّرُهُمْ وَيَأْمُرُهُمْ وَكَانَ فِيمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنِ «اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجَدَّعٌ فَأَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ فَاسْمَعُوا لَهُ وَأَطِيعُوا»  

[Machine] I performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Hajj. I saw Bilal and Usama, with Bilal leading his mount by the reins and the other raising his garment as a shield against the heat until he threw the jamarat Al-Aqaba (pebbles at the Devil). Then he turned around, placing his garment under his right armpit and over his left shoulder. I saw on the underside of his right shoulder a mark resembling the shape of a bracelet. He stood among the people and delivered a long speech, part of which was that "I have appointed a black Abyssinian named Bilal as leader over you. He will lead you with the Book of Allah, so listen to him and obey him."  

حَجَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ فَرَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا وَأُسَامَةَ وَبِلَالٌ يَقُودُ بِخِطَامِ رَاحِلَتِهِ وَالآخَرُ رَافِعًا ثَوْبَهُ سُتْرَةً بِهِ مِنَ الْحَرِّ حَتَّى رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَقَدْ جَعَلَ ثَوْبَهُ تَحْتَ إِبْطِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ الْأَيْسَرِ فَرَأَيْتُ تَحْتَ عُرْصُوفِ كَتِفِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ كَهَيْأَةِ جَمْعٍ فَوَقَفَ لِلنَّاسِ فَقَالَ قَوْلًا كَثِيرًا فَكَانَ مِمَّا يَقُولُ إِنْ «أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ أَسْوَدُ يَقُودُكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا»  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , on the evening of Arafat, standing on a camel and wrapped in his cloak, with his right hand raised. I heard him saying, "O people, listen and obey! Even if a slave Abyssinian with a maimed or crooked nose is appointed over you and he leads you according to the Book of Allah."  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ وَاقِفًا قَائِلًا بِرِدَائِهِ هَكَذَا وَأَخْرَجَ عَضُدَهُ الْأَيْمَنَ قَالَتْ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ «اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجَدَّعٌ فَأَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet, ﷺ , while he was wearing a cloak and he said, "There has been appointed upon you a servant from Abyssinia who is a caller (to prayer), so listen to him and obey him with regards to the Book of Allah, the Most High."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدَهُ مُتَلَفِّعٌ بِهَا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ إِنْ «أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجَدَّعٌ فَاسْمَعُوا لَهُ مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ تَعَالَى»  

[Machine] She used to pray behind the Prophet ﷺ in a row of women, and she heard him say, "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, Master of the Day of Judgment." She continued, "And not of those who have gone astray." He said, "Ameen" until I heard him while I was in the row of women. And he would say Takbeer when he prostrated and when he raised [from it].  

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُصَلِّي خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي صَفٍّ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ فَسَمِعَتْهُ يَقُولُ {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ} بَلَغَ {وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} قَالَ آمِينَ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُهُ وَأَنَا فِي صَفِّ النِّسَاءِ وَكَانَ يُكَبِّرُ إِذَا سَجَدَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave becomes your leader, who governs you by the Book of Allah." And I heard him saying, "O Allah, forgive those who have shaved their heads" (three times). They said, "And those who have their hair cut short?" He said, "And also those who have their hair cut short."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ يَقُودُكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ بَعْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came while people were crowding around him at the Jamarat (stone pillars representing the Devil). He said, "O people, do not harm yourselves and pelt the Jamarat with small pebbles."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَاءَ وَالنَّاسُ يَزْدَحِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ أَوِ الْجَمَرَاتِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا «النَّاسُ لَا تُهْلِكُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَارْمُوا الْجِمَارَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ»  

[Machine] She saw the Prophet ﷺ at the Jamrah, and he was saying, "Do not kill one another, and throw the pebbles like the stones of the Khadaf."  

أَنَّهَا رَأَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «لَا يَقْتُلْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا وَارْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ»  

“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoning the ‘Aqabah Pillar from the bottom of the valley on the Day of Sacrifice, then he went away. A woman from Khath’am followed him, and with her was a son of hers who had been afflicted, he could not speak. She said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! This is my son, and he is all I have left of my family. He has been afflicted and cannot speak.’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Bring me some water.’ So it was brought, and he washed his hands and rinsed out his mouth. Then he gave it to her and said: ‘Give him some to drink, and pour some over him, and seek Allah’s healing for him.’” She (Umm Jundub) said: “I met that woman and said: ‘Why don’t you give me some?’ She said: ‘It is only for the sick one.’ I met that woman one year later and asked her about the boy. She said: ‘He recovered and became (very) smart, not like the rest of the people.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3532)  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ وَهُوَ عَلَى دَابَّةٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَتَبِعَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ وَمَعَهَا صَبِيُّ لَهَا بِهِ بَلَاءٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ هَذَا ابْنِي وَبَقِيَّةُ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ بِهِ بَلَاءً لَا يَتَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ائْتُونِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَمَضْمَضَ فَاهُ ثُمَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ اسْقِيهِ مِنْهُ وَصُبِّي عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ فَاسْتَشْفِ اللهَ لَهُ قَالَتْ فَلَقِيتُ الْمَرْأَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَوْ وَهَبْتِ لِي مِنْهُ قَالَتْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ لِهَذَا الْمُبْتَلَى قَالَتْ فَلَقِيتُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنَ الْحَوْلِ الْمُقْبِلِ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنِ الْغُلَامِ فَقَالَتْ بَرَأَ وَعَقَلَ عَقْلًا لَيْسَ كَعُقُولِ النَّاسِ  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Sacrifice at the Jamrat al-Aqabah while he was riding his she-camel, and there was a man behind him protecting him from the people. So, I asked about this man, and it was said to me that he was Al-Fadl ibn Al-Abbas. The people crowded around him, so he said, "O people, do not kill each other. When you throw the pebbles, then throw them with the same amount as the pebbles in Al-Khadhf. Then, move away and look at the Jamrah, then throw it from the bottom of the valley with seven pebbles. He would say the takbir with each pebble, then he would leave."  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ عِنْدَ جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ وَرَجُلٌ خَلْفَهُ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ فَقِيلَ لِي هَذَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ فَازْدَحَمَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَقْتُلْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا وَإِذَا رَمَيْتُمُ الْجِمَارَ فَارْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ ثُمَّ اسْتَبْطَنَ الْوَادِي وَاسْتَعْرَضَ الْجَمْرَةَ فَرَمَاهَا مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِيِ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ يُكَبِّرُ مَعَ كُلِّ حَصَاةٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ»  

[Machine] A Jewish woman used to visit Aisha and talk to her. When she would stand up, she would say, "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, she informed him about this. He said, "She has lied, for that is only for the people of the Book." Then the sun was eclipsed, so he said, "I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave." Then he raised his voice and stood up, prolonging the standing. Then he performed a prolonged bowing, and raised his head and stood up, prolonging the standing. Then he performed a prolonged bowing, while being shorter than the first one. Then he performed two bowings and two prostrations in which his standing was similar to his bowing, and his bowing was similar to his standing.  

أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّةً كَانَتْ تَدْخُلُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَتَتَحَدَّثُ عِنْدَهَا فَإِذَا قَامَتْ قَالَتْ أَعَاذَكِ اللهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ كَذَبَتْ إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ لِأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ فَقَامَ فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ فَأَطَالَ الرُّكُوعَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَامَ فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ فَأَطَالَ الرُّكُوعَ وَهُوَ دُونَ الرُّكُوعِ الْأَوَّلِ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ يَقُومُ فِيهِمَا مِثْلَ قِيَامِهِ وَيَرْكَعُ مِثْلَ رُكُوعِهِ  

[Machine] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the reward for the wealthy person towards the poor?" He said, "Advice and supplication." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I dislike returning kindness." He said, "How ugly it would be if someone were to offer me a gift and I refused it. And if I were invited to a meal, I would respond."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا جَزَاءُ الْغَنِيِّ مِنَ الْفَقِيرِ؟ قَالَ «النَّصِيحَةُ وَالدُّعَاءُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَكْرَهُ رَدَّ اللُّطْفِ قَالَ «مَا أَقْبَحَهُ لَوْ أُهْدِيَ إِلَيَّ كُرَاعٌ لَقَبِلْتُ وَلَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى ذِرَاعٍ لَأَجَبْتُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Exchange gifts, as they increase love and remove the hostility from the hearts."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «تَهَادَوْا فَإِنَّ الْهَدِيَّةَ تُضْعِفُ الْحُبَّ وَتَذْهَبُ بِغَوَائِلِ الصَّدْرِ»  

[Machine] Habbaba bint Ajlan narrated to me that my mother Hafsa narrated to me from Safiyyah bint Jariyy from Umm Hakim bint Wada' who said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The supplication of a parent leads to the veil being lifted."  

حَدَّثَنَا حُبَابَةُ بِنْتُ عَجْلَانَ حَدَّثَتْنِيِ أُمِّي حَفْصَةُ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أُمِّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتِ وَدَاعٍ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «دُعَاءُ الْوَالِدِ يُفْضِي إِلَى الْحِجَابِ»  

[Machine] It is called "Umm Bilal." Her father was with the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyah. She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sacrifice the trunk of the sheep, as it is permissible."  

يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ بِلَالٍ وَكَانَ أَبُوهَا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَحُّوا بِالْجَذَعِ مِنَ الضَّأْنِ فَإِنَّهُ جَائِزٌ»  

[Machine] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about aqiqah, and he said, "For a boy, two sheep as a reward, and for a girl, one sheep."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ فَقَالَ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'For a boy, two sheep are to be sacrificed, and for a girl, one sheep.'"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ لِلْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

[Machine] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the Aqeeqah. He said, for a baby boy, two sheep as a reward, and for a baby girl, one sheep. I asked, what are the rewards? He said, they are equal.  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ فَقَالَ عَلَى الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَلَى الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ قُلْتُ مَا الْمُكَافَأَتَانِ؟ قَالَ الْمِثْلَانِ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "For a young boy, there are two rewards, and for a young girl, there is one reward."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about aqiqah (sacrifice for a newborn). He said, "For a boy, two sheep as a reward, and for a girl, one sheep."  

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ فَقَالَ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "For a male child, there are two sheep as a sacrifice, and for a female child, one sheep."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «فِي الْعَقِيقَة عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

[Machine] She heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "For a boy, it is a satan, and for a girl, it is a shah."  

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»  

That she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the 'Aqiqah. He said: "For the boy is two sheep, and for the girl is one, it will not harm you if they (i.e. the sheep) are male or female." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1516)  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ فَقَالَ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ ذُكْرَانًا كُنَّ أَمْ إِنَاثًا»  

That she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the 'Aqiqah. He said: "For the boy is two sheep, and for the girl is one, it will not harm you if they (i.e. the sheep) are male or female." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1516)
