[Machine] She came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the house of Umm Salamah, and there were some people sitting with him. I sat until they left, then I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I will not leave any matter that enlightens me in my religion and brings me closer to Allah, without asking about it. What do you think about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees? Should she perform ghusl (ritual cleansing)?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If she sees water, then she should perform ghusl." Umm Salamah said, "May your hands be rubbed with soil, O Umm Sulaym! You have embarrassed the women." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rather, may your hands be rubbed with soil. If it were not for that, a child would not resemble his mother."

[Machine] Um Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , used to have conversations with her mother. One day, the Prophet ﷺ entered while they were talking and Um Salama asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a woman sees her husband having intercourse with her in a dream? Should she perform ghusl (ritual washing)?" Um Salama commented, "May your hands be covered in dirt, O Um Salama! You have embarrassed women in front of the Messenger of Allah." Um Salama replied, "Verily, Allah is not too shy to state the truth. If we cannot ask the Prophet ﷺ about what confuses us, it is better for us to be blind. The Prophet ﷺ then said to Um Salama, "No, you are correct, O Um Salama. She must perform ghusl if she finds water." Um Salama then asked, "O Messenger of Allah, does a woman have any water?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "How can she be compared to her offspring? They are the counterparts of men."

[Machine] Umm Salamah entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while Umm Salimah was with him. The woman said, "Do women see in their dreams what men see?" Umm Salamah said, "May your hands be covered in dust, O Umm Salimah. You have caused disturbance among women." The Prophet ﷺ replied, supporting Umm Salimah, "No, indeed it is your hands that should be covered in dust, for you have asked about what concerns you when you see water. Therefore, you should perform ablution." Umm Salimah asked, "Do women have water available?" He replied, "Yes, how can they resemble boys? They are the counterparts of men."
