[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioning something similar except that he said, "Then he proceeded and invented."  

أحمد:١٦١٧٤ – حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَوْسُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ غَدَا وَابْتَكَرَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ النَّاسِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَمَا تَلْبَثُ الْحَبَّةُ  

ahmad:25408 – ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > Manṣūr > Sālim b. Abū al-Jaʿd > Abū al-Malīḥ > ʿĀʾishah

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ
