عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 181)

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَتَوَضَّأُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ»

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah commanded the use of bells, he mentioned something similar.

لَمَّا أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالنَّاقُوسِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

"I came to the Messenger of Allah" and he mentioned something similar. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4176)

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with throwing arrows, so he mentioned something similar to it.

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمِعْرَاضِ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

(Another chain) from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a similar report. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 568)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِنَحْوِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect as mentioned by Sufyan. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4540)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ الْحَدِيثِ

[AI] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he mentioned something similar.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When one of you completes his prayer, then let him mention its meaning."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاتَهُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

I will not go away unless you get yourself cupped, for I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: It is a remedy. (Using translation from Muslim 2205a)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ فِيهِ الشِّفَاءَ

[AI] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned his meaning.

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who fasts."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ السَّائِمَةُ

[AI] We met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he mentioned the hadith.

أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and he mentioned its meaning without attributing it to anyone.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَلَمْيُسْنِدْهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I looked up and he mentioned something similar to it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اطَّلَعْتُ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

"There is no 'bringing', no 'avoidance' and no Shighar in Islam." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3591)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Modesty is all good." Then he mentioned the hadith.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Yemen will be opened, and a people will come who wear alternate clothing." Then, he mentioned the narration (hadith).

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يُفْتَحُ الْيَمَنُ فَيَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يَبُسُّونَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned his likeness.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

[AI] O Messenger of Allah, I have seen men who mentioned its meaning.

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رِجَالًا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he mentioned the narration.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] It means: "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be guarded by his companions, so he mentioned something similar to it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَحْرُسُهُ أَصْحَابُهُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4492)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he mentioned something similar to it.

عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a night off and mentioned its significance.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَمَ لَيْلَةً فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] "He (Malik) asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , how does revelation come to you, so he mentioned something similar to what Malik said."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَيْفَ يَأْتِيكَ الْوَحْيُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ

"Geckos are vermin." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2886)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَزَغُ فُوَيْسِقٌ

[AI] I heard Umm Salama mentioning the story.

سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[AI] "While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned its meaning with us."

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention something similar.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and mentioned something similar."

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said in my house, so he mentioned its meaning.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying something similar to that.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for us and mentioned us.

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَهُ

"No one hoards but a sinner."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2154)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ

[AI] His mother came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "So he mentioned its meaning with us."

أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The punishment of my ummah (nation) is in this world."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «عَذَابُ أُمَّتِي فِي دُنْيَاهَا»

The above mentioned tradition has also been transmitted in a similar manner by Ibn 'Abbas from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1491)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Witr (odd number of units for prayer) is a right (obligation)." So he mentioned it in this way and they left it.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ» فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِعدي تركوه

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Witr (the nightly odd numbered prayer) is a right (that it should be performed)." Then the narrated something similar.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ» فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ

The same as No. 290. from the Prophet. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1199b)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ

Abu Huraira reported a hadith like this through another chain of transmitters. (Using translation from Muslim 2653a)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْوَهُصحيح

The same as No. 290. from the Prophet. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1199b)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2224)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا صَوْمَ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ» *

"Geckos are vermin." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2886)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوَزَغُ فُوَيْسِقٌ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Every intoxicant is unlawful.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3387)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The evil eye is a fact," and he forbade tattooing. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5944)

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ» وَنَهَى عَنِ الْوَشْمِ «

"Geckos are vermin." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2886)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوَزَغُ فُوَيْسِقٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, this epidemic is a form of punishment." And he mentioned the hadith.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ هَذَا الْوَبَاءَ رِجْزٌ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
