The Prophet ﷺ said, "If someone leaves some property, it will be for the inheritors, and if he leaves some weak offspring, it will be for us to support them."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلاًّ فَإِلَيْنَا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am closer to the believers than their selves in this world and in the Hereafter, and if you like, you can read Allah's Statement: "The Prophet ﷺ is closer to the believers than their own selves." (33.6) So, if a true believer dies and leaves behind some property, it will be for his inheritors (from the father's side), and if he leaves behind some debt to be paid or needy offspring, then they should come to me as I am the guardian of the deceased."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلاَّ وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ} فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ مَالاً فَلْيَرِثْهُ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانُوا وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْيَأْتِنِي فَأَنَا مَوْلاَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no believer but I, of all the people, I am the closest to him both in this world and in the Hereafter. Recite if you wish: 'The Prophet ﷺ is closer to the believers than their own selves.' (33.6) so if a believer (dies) leaves some property then his relatives will inherit that property; but if he is in debt or he leaves poor children, let those (creditors and children) come to me (that I may pay the debt and provide for the children), for them I am his sponsor (surely).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلاَّ وَأَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ} فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلْيَرِثْهُ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانُوا فَإِنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضِيَاعًا فَلْيَأْتِنِي وَأَنَا مَوْلاَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am more closer to the believers than their own selves, so whoever (of them) dies while being in debt and leaves nothing for its repayment, then we are to pay his debts on his behalf and whoever (among the believers) dies leaving some property, then that property is for his heirs."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ وَلَمْ يَتْرُكْ وَفَاءً فَعَلَيْنَا قَضَاؤُهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am more closer to the believers than their ownselves, so whoever (among them) dies leaving some inheritance, his inheritance will be given to his 'Asaba, and whoever dies leaving a debt or dependants or destitute children, then I am their supporter."

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ مَالاً فَمَالُهُ لِمَوَالِي الْعَصَبَةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلاًّ أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلأُدْعَى لَهُ لكل العيال

The Prophet ﷺ said, " If somebody dies (among the Muslims) leaving some property, the property will go to his heirs; and if he leaves a debt or dependants, we will take care of them."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلاًّ فَإِلَيْنَا

By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, there is no believer on the earth with whom I am not the nearest among all the people. He who amongst you (dies) and leaves a debt, I am there to pay it, and he who amongst you (dies) leaving behind children I am there to look after them. And he who amongst You leaves behind property, that is for the inheritor whoever he is.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلاَّ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا مَوْلاَهُ وَأَيُّكُمْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَإِلَى الْعَصَبَةِ مَنْ كَانَ

This is what Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us from Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him). And he narrated many ahadith, and one was this: Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him said: I am, according to the Book of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, nearest to the believers of all the human beings. So whoever amongst you dies in debt or leaves behind destitute children, you should call me (for help) ), for I am his guardian. And who amongst you leaves property, his inheritor is entitled to get it, whoever he is.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ﷻ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَادْعُونِي فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ وَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلْيُؤْثَرْ بِمَالِهِ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to every believer than himself, so if anyone leaves a debt or a helpless family, I shall be responsible, but if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs. I am patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. A maternal uncle is patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. Abu Dawud said: da'iah means dependants or helpless family. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Zubaidi from Rashid b. Sa'd from Ibn 'A'idh on the authority of al-Miqdam. It has also been transmitted by Mu'awiyah b. Salih from Rashid who said: I heard al-Miqdam (say).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَىَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لاَ مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لاَ مَوْلَى لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَىَّ وَعَلَىَّ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs. And if anyone leaves dependents (without resources), they come to us.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلاًّ فَإِلَيْنَا

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: I am nearer to every believer than himself, and if anyone leaves, it goes to his heirs.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَإِلَىَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ

"Whoever leaves wealth then it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves poor dependents then it (the responsibility) is for me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَىَّ

“Whoever leaves behind money, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind a debt for children, I am nearer to the believers.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَعَلَىَّ وَإِلَىَّ وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Him in whose hand is my soul, there is no believer on earth but that I am the closest of all people to him. So, whoever abandons a debt or leaves his family to be wasted, then I shall intercede for him, for I am his guardian. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his relatives." Abdullah said, "Leaving behind wealth meaning children." And he (the Prophet) said, "So I shall intercede for him, meaning to pray for him and ask Allah to fulfill his needs."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْأُدْعَ لَهُ فَأَنَا مَوْلَاهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِعَصَبَتِهِ مَنْ كَانَ» قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ ضَيَاعًا يَعْنِي عِيَالًا وَقَالَ فَلْأُدْعَ لَهُ يَعْنِي ادْعُونِي لَهُ أَقْضِ عَنْهُ

"Whoever leaves wealth then it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves poor dependents then it (the responsibility) is for me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2090)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am the most deserving of the believers in the book of Allah. So whoever leaves behind a debt or loss, let him call upon me, for I am his guardian. And whoever leaves behind wealth, let his inheritance go to his family. Whoever is my closest relative, he is Ali ibn Abu Talib."

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَادْعُونِي فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ وَأَيُّكُمْمَا تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلْيَوَرَّثْ مَالُهُ عُصْبَتَهُ مَنْ كَانَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am closer to the believers than their selves in this world and in the Hereafter, and if you like, you can read Allah's Statement: "The Prophet ﷺ is closer to the believers than their own selves." عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ} [الأحزاب 6] فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ مَالًا فَلْيَرِثْهُ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانُوا وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْيَأْتِنِي فَإِنِّي مَوْلَاهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am the closest of all people to themselves. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or a burden, I am his guardian, so there is no need to worry about him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِمَوَالِي عَصَبَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضِيَاعًا أَوْ كَلًّا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلَا دَعِيَّ لَهُ

"Whoever leaves wealth then it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves poor dependents then it (the responsibility) is for me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2090)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًافَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضِيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2954)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِلْوَارِثِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his family. And whoever leaves behind a debt, it is upon Allah and his Messenger."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَى اللهِ وَعَلَى رَسُولِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , would redden and his cheeks would flush when he mentioned the Hour (the Day of Judgment). His anger would intensify, and his voice would rise as if he were a warner of an approaching army, saying, "I am the closest to the believers than their own selves. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, then it is upon me." And I am the closest to the believers.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَكَرَ السَّاعَةَ احْمَرَّتْ وَجْنَتَاهُ وَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُهُ وَعَلَا صَوْتُهُ كَأَنَّهُ مُنْذِرُ جَيْشٍ صُبِّحْتُمْ مُسِّيتُمْ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَعَلَيَّ وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone leaves a debt or a helpless family I shall be responsible-and sometimes the narrator said: Allah and His Apostle will be responsible-but if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs. I am the heirs of him who has none, paying blood-wit for him and inheriting from him; and a maternal uncle is the heir of him who has none, paying blood-wit for him and inheriting from him. عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا فَإِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ فَإِلَيْنَا وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَارِثِهِ وَالْخَالُ وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ وَأَنَا وَارِثُ مَنْ لَاوَارِثَ لَهُ أَرِثُهُ وَأَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his heirs. And whoever leaves behind a debt or loss, it comes to me (to settle), and I am the guardian for the one who has no guardian. Should I overlook him (the debt or loss) and inherit his wealth, if there is a close relative (kinship), they (the relative) are the guardian for the one who has no guardian. They should overlook him (the debt or loss) and inherit his wealth."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ أَفُكُّ عَنْهُ وَأَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَالْخَالُ وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ يَفُكُّ عَنْهُ وَيَرِثُ مَالَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever leaves behind a debt or an orphan, it is upon me to take care of them. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs. And I am the guardian of those who have no guardian. I will inherit their wealth and fulfill their responsibilities. And the paternal uncle is the guardian of those who have no guardian. He will inherit their wealth and fulfill their responsibilities."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَارِثِهِ وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: I am the heirs of Him who has none, freeing him from his liabilities, and inheriting what he possesses. A maternal uncle is the heir of Him who has none, freeing him from his liabilities, and inheriting his property. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2901)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانِيَهُ وَالْخَالُ وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانِيَهُ»

"Whoever leaves wealth then it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves poor dependents then it (the responsibility) is for me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2090)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَإِلَيَّ وَعَلَيَّ»

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا فَإِلَيْنَا وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ أَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَأَرِثُهُ وَالْخَالُ وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ يَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَيَرِثُهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever leaves behind a debt or lost property, it is to me. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his inheritors. And I am the guardian of the one who has no guardian. Shall I release him and inherit his wealth? And the maternal uncle is the guardian of the one who has no guardian. He shall release him and inherit his wealth."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَفُكُّ عَنْهُ وَأَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ يَفُكُّ عَنْهُ وَيَرِثُ مَالَهُ»

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال أنا أولى بكل مؤمن من نفسه من ترك مالا فلورثته وَمَنْ ترك دينا فعلي

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ من ترك مالا فلعصبته وَمَنْ ترك كلأ أَحسَبُهُ قال فإليه

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ من ترك كلأ فإلى الله ورسوله ومن ترك مالا فلورثته

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ commanded us to free the captives of the Muslims and give to their needy. Then, he said, "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for their inheritors, and whoever leaves behind a debt, it is upon me and upon the leaders of the Muslims after me from the Muslim treasury."

أَمَرَنَا نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَفْدِيَ سَبَايَا الْمُسْلِمِينَ ونُعْطِيَ سَائِلَهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَيَّ وَعَلَى الْوُلَاةِ مِنْ بَعْدِي مِنْ بَيْتِ مَالِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am more deserving of every believer than himself. Whoever abandons a debt or loses it, it belongs to me, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it goes to his heirs. And I am the guardian of one who has no guardian, I inherit his wealth and release his bonds. And the uncle is the guardian of one who has no guardian, he inherits his wealth and releases his bonds."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ»

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Whoever leaves a debt or a wasteland, it is to me. And whoever leaves wealth, it is for his inheritors. And I am the guardian of the one who has no guardian. Shall I help him and inherit his wealth?"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَأَرِثُ مَالَهُ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2954)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَهُوَ إِلَى الْعَصَبَةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to every believer than himself, so if anyone leaves a debt or a helpless family, I shall be responsible, but if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs. I am patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. A maternal uncle is patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. Abu Dawud said: da'iah means dependants or helpless family. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Zubaidi from Rashid b. Sa'd from Ibn 'A'idh on the authority of al-Miqdam. It has also been transmitted by Mu'awiyah b. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَارِثِهِ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ أَفُكُّ عَنْوَهُ وَأَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَالْخَالُ وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ يَفُكُّ عَنْوَهُ وَيَرِثُ مَالَهُ»

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever leaves behind a debt or loss, it is to be repaid to me. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his heirs. I am the guardian of the one who has no guardian, and I will use his intellect and inherit his wealth. The paternal uncle is the guardian of the one who has no guardian, and he will turn away from him and inherit his wealth."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَهُوَ لِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ أَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَأَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَالْخَالُ وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ يَفُكُّ عَنْوَهُ وَيَرِثُ مَالَهُ»

[AI] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am the closest of all people to the believers in the Book of Allah. So, whoever leaves behind a debt or inheritance, let them call upon me for help. I am their guardian. And whoever leaves behind wealth, they should prefer their family over it."

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَادْعُونِي؛ فَإِنِّي وَلِيُّهُ وَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلْيُؤْثِرْ بِمَالِهِ عَصَبَتَهُ مَنْ كَانَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am closer to every believer than his own self. So whoever abandons a debt or property, it belongs to me. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his inheritors. And I am the guardian of those who have no guardian, so I inherit their wealth and release their burdens." Abu Dawood said, "He is the guardian of those who have no guardian, inheriting their wealth and releasing their burdens."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلِيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am closer to the believers than their selves in this world and in the Hereafter, and if you like, you can read Allah's Statement: "The Prophet ﷺ is closer to the believers than their own selves." (33.6) So, if a true believer dies and leaves behind some property, it will be for his inheritors (from the father's side), and if he leaves behind some debt to be paid or needy offspring, then they should come to me as I am the guardian of the deceased." قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ} [الأحزاب 6] وَأَيُّمَا امْرِئٍ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلْيَرِثْهُ عَصَبَتُهُ مَنْ كَانُوا وَإِنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْيَأْتِنِي فَأَنَا مَوْلَاهُ

By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, there is no believer on the earth with whom I am not the nearest among all the people. He who amongst you (dies) and leaves a debt, I am there to pay it, and he who amongst you (dies) leaving behind children I am there to look after them. And he who amongst You leaves behind property, that is for the inheritor whoever he is. (Using translation from Muslim 1619c)

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "There is no believer except that I am closer to him in this world and the Hereafter. Read if you wish: 'The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves.' (Qur'an, Al-Ahzab 33:6) So whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind a debt or loss, then I am his guardian."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am more entitled to the believers than themselves. So whoever dies and leaves wealth, his wealth is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind dependents or debt, then I am his guardian, so I shall look after him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ مَالًا فَمَالُهُ لِمَوَالِي الْعَصَبَةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلْأُدْعَى لَهُ

"عَنْ أنسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : ألَسْتُ أَوْلَى بِكُمْ مِنْ أنفُسِكُمْ؟ قالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلا فَإلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ".

"عَنْ أنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : ألَسْتُ أوْلَى بِكُمْ مِنْ أنْفُسِكُمْ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَليْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلّا فَإِلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ".
