The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am more closer to the believers than their own selves, so whoever (of them) dies while being in debt and leaves nothing for its repayment, then we are to pay his debts on his behalf and whoever (among the believers) dies leaving some property, then that property is for his heirs."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ وَلَمْ يَتْرُكْ وَفَاءً فَعَلَيْنَا قَضَاؤُهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am more closer to the believers than their ownselves, so whoever (among them) dies leaving some inheritance, his inheritance will be given to his 'Asaba, and whoever dies leaving a debt or dependants or destitute children, then I am their supporter."

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ مَالاً فَمَالُهُ لِمَوَالِي الْعَصَبَةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلاًّ أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلأُدْعَى لَهُ لكل العيال

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَىَّ وَعَلَىَّ

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: I am nearer to every believer than himself, and if anyone leaves, it goes to his heirs.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَإِلَىَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ

“Whoever leaves behind money, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind a debt for children, I am nearer to the believers.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَعَلَىَّ وَإِلَىَّ وَأَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2954)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَلَا ضَيَاعَ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيُدْعَ لَهُ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِلْعَصَبَةِ مَنْ كَانَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am more deserving of every believer than himself. Whoever abandons a debt or loses it, it belongs to me, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it goes to his heirs. And I am the guardian of one who has no guardian, I inherit his wealth and release his bonds. And the uncle is the guardian of one who has no guardian, he inherits his wealth and releases his bonds."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيْعَةً فَإِلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ أَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَأَفُكُّ عَانَهُ وَالْخَالُ مَوْلَى مَنْ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُ يَرِثُ مَالَهُ وَيَفُكُّ عَانَهُ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَهُوَ إِلَى الْعَصَبَةِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to every believer than himself, so if anyone leaves a debt or a helpless family, I shall be responsible, but if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs. I am patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. A maternal uncle is patron of him who has none, inheriting his property and freeing him from his liabilities. Abu Dawud said: da'iah means dependants or helpless family. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Zubaidi from Rashid b. Sa'd from Ibn 'A'idh on the authority of al-Miqdam. It has also been transmitted by Mu'awiyah b. Salih from Rashid who said: I heard al-Miqdam (say). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2900)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلِيَّ وَعَلَيَّ

"أنا أَولى بكل مؤمنٍ من نفسه، فمن ترك دَيْنًا أو ضَيعَةً فإِلىَّ، ومن تركَ مالًا فلورثته وأنا مولى من لا مولى له؛ أَرث ماله وأفُكُّ عانيه، والخالُ مولى من لا مولى له، يرث ماله، ويعقِلُ عنه".

"أَنَا أولى بكلِّ مؤْمن من نفسه، فمن ترك دينًا فعلَىَّ، ومن ترك مالًا فلورثته" .

"أَنَا أولى بكل مؤْمن من نفسه، من ترك مالًا فلورثته، ومن ترك دينًا أو ضِيَاعًا فإِلىَّ، أَقضى دينه وأفُكُّ عانيه" .

"أَنَا أَولى بالمؤْمنين من أَنفسهم فمن توفى من المؤمنين فترك دينًا فعلى قضاؤُه، ومن ترك مالًا فهو لورثته" .

"عَنْ أنسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : ألَسْتُ أَوْلَى بِكُمْ مِنْ أنفُسِكُمْ؟ قالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلا فَإلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ".

"عَنْ أنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : ألَسْتُ أوْلَى بِكُمْ مِنْ أنْفُسِكُمْ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَليْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلّا فَإِلَيْنَا، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ".
