ahmad:14630ʿAbdullāh b. al-Walīd > Sufyān > Jaʿfar from his father > Jābir

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , would redden and his cheeks would flush when he mentioned the Hour (the Day of Judgment). His anger would intensify, and his voice would rise as if he were a warner of an approaching army, saying, "I am the closest to the believers than their own selves. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, then it is upon me." And I am the closest to the believers.

The method of the khutbah of the Prophet ﷺ; the Prophet ﷺ as a guide and a guardian

muslim:867aMuḥammad b. al-Muthanná > ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. ʿAbd al-Majīd > Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad from his father > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon, his eyes would become red, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, until it was as though he were warning an army, saying: “An enemy has come upon you in the morning and in the evening.” And he would say: “I have been sent, and the Hour, like these two,” and he would join his index finger and middle finger.

And he would say: “To proceed: indeed, the best speech is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, and the worst of matters are newly invented ones; and every innovation is misguidance.” Then he would say: “I am (i.e. following me) is a priority to every believer than his own self. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family; and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents in need, then it is ˹a responsibility˺ to me and upon me.”

abudawud:2954Muḥammad b. Kathīr > Sufyān > Jaʿfar from his father > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to become flushed, his cheeks would redden, his anger would intensify, and his voice would become elevated when he mentioned the Hour, as if he were warning of an approaching army saying, "Morning may befall you, evening may befall you."

[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Hour (Day of Judgment), his cheeks would turn red, his anger would intensify, and his voice would rise as if he were warning of an approaching army. He would say, 'You have experienced both morning and evening.' He would also say, 'I am more deserving of the believers than themselves. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to their family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, it is my responsibility and mine alone. I am more deserving of the believers.'"
