[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Him in whose hand is my soul, there is no believer on earth but that I am the closest of all people to him. So, whoever abandons a debt or leaves his family to be wasted, then I shall intercede for him, for I am his guardian. And whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his relatives." Abdullah said, "Leaving behind wealth meaning children." And he (the Prophet) said, "So I shall intercede for him, meaning to pray for him and ask Allah to fulfill his needs."  

الدارمي:٢٦٣٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَلْأُدْعَ لَهُ فَأَنَا مَوْلَاهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِعَصَبَتِهِ مَنْ كَانَ» قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ ضَيَاعًا يَعْنِي عِيَالًا وَقَالَ فَلْأُدْعَ لَهُ يَعْنِي ادْعُونِي لَهُ أَقْضِ عَنْهُ

By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, there is no believer on the earth with whom I am not the nearest among all the people. He who amongst you (dies) and leaves a debt, I am there to pay it, and he who amongst you (dies) leaving behind children I am there to look after them. And he who amongst You leaves behind property, that is for the inheritor whoever he is.  

مسلم:١٦١٩c – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي وَرْقَاءُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلاَّ أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَأَنَا مَوْلاَهُ وَأَيُّكُمْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَإِلَى الْعَصَبَةِ مَنْ كَانَ  

ahmad:10816 – ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd > Saʿīd / Ibn Abū Ayyūb > Muḥammad b. ʿAjlān from his father > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said: I am nearer to the believers than themselves, so if anyone leaves property, it goes to his heirs, and if anyone leaves debt and dependants, let the matter come to me and I shall be responsible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2954)   

أحمد:١٠٨١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ مَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا أَوْ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ وَلَا ضَيَاعَ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيُدْعَ لَهُ وَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِلْعَصَبَةِ مَنْ كَانَ
