[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Remorse is the expiation for sin."  

الطبراني:١٢٧٩٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ النُّكْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَفَّارَةُ الذَّنْبِ النَّدَامَةُ»

The expiation of the (breach of) a vow is the same as that of the (breach of an oath). (Using translation from Muslim 1645)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَفَّارَةُ النَّذْرِ كَفَّارَةُ الْيَمِينِ

ahmad:20242 – ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > al-Ashʿath b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Jarmī from his father > Samurah b. Jundub > a man

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)
