[Machine] And he said, "Raise your garment." So he started to apologize to him for his weakness, then he approached me and said, "Abu Hurairah narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'While a man from those before you was walking in his finery that he found pride in, Allah caused the earth to swallow him up and he will continue sinking into it until the Day of Resurrection.'"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever drags his garment out of pride, will not have the mercy of Allah in this world or in the Hereafter."
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing this belt."
52.100 [Machine] The position of the belt
[Machine] He was in the city when suddenly he said, "Lift your clothing, for it is more righteous and more lasting." So, I looked and behold, he was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I said, "It is only a torn garment, old and worn out." He said, "Do you not have an example in me?" So, I looked and his lower garment reached halfway down his calves.
[Machine] "Lift up your garment, for it is more modest and piety-inducing." So I looked and behold, it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is only a cloth (burdah) hanging (malha)." He said, "Do you not have in me a good example?" So I looked and his garment was halfway down his leg. Reported to us Abdul-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Salam Al-Tarsusi, he said: Abu Al-Nadr informed us, he said: Shayban informed us, from Ash'ath, he said: My aunt informed me, from the paternal uncle of Abu Ubaid ibn Khalid, he said: I came to Madinah when I was a young tribal man, and I had loosened my garment. So a man caught up with me from behind and mentioned something similar to it.
52.101 [Machine] The Disagreement Regarding Abu Ishaq
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the muscle of my calf and said, "Tie the lower part of the garment below this muscle, and if you refuse, then there is no right to the garment on the calves."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the muscles of his calf and said, "This is the place for the waist wrap. If you refuse, then below this is the place. If you refuse, then there is no right for the waist wrap on the calf." Abu Abdullah Al-Rahman said, "Both of these hadiths are incorrect, and the correct one is the one that comes after them."
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the calf of my shin - or his shin - and he said: "This is the place of the Izar, if you must lower it, then the Izar has no right to be on the ankles." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1783)
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Izar should come to the middle of the shins and the calf. If you insist, then a little lower, and if you insist, then a little further down, but the Izar has no right to (come to) the ankle." This is the wordings of Muhammad. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5329)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand on his thigh or leg and said, "This is where the waist wrap is worn." Then he moved his hand lower and said, "Here is also acceptable." Then he moved it lower again and said, "Otherwise, it is here." Then he said, "The waist wrap should not go below the ankles."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , took hold of my calf and said, "The garment should be worn here. If you refuse, then it should be worn lower than that. And if you still refuse, then the garment should not go below the calves."
[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was wearing a woollen cloak, and its fibres were scattered on his feet. So I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, advise me.' He said, 'Fear Allah and do not belittle any good deed, even if it is pouring water from your bucket into the vessel of one seeking water, or speaking to your brother with a smiling face. And beware of dragging your garments, for dragging one's garments is from arrogance, and Allah does not like arrogance.'"
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was wearing a cloak with its hem dragging on the ground. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, advise me." He said, "Be conscious of Allah and do not belittle any act of kindness, even if it is just meeting your brother with a cheerful face. And beware of dragging your garment out of pride, for Allah does not like arrogance."
[Machine] I approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was wrapped in a cloak with its fringe hanging down to his ankles. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, advise me." He said, "Fear Allah and do not belittle any good deed, even if it is pouring water from your own bucket into the trough of someone thirsty or arranging your clothes to give to a beggar, for Allah dislikes arrogance."
[Machine] He arrived in the city and met the Prophet ﷺ in some of the streets of the city. He greeted him and found him wearing a worn-out, tattered garment, with its hem all torn. He said, "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Peace be upon you, the greeting of the dead." Then he said, "O Muhammad, advise me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not belittle any act of kindness. Even if you give a small rope to tie, or pour water into a container for a thirsty person, or meet your Muslim brother with a smiling face, or keep company with wild animals alone, or give a handful of food to the hungry." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said, "Sahm ibn al-Mu'tamir did not consider this to be an act of kindness."
[Machine] "He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, I asked him to advise me. He said, 'Do not curse anyone, do not belittle acts of kindness even if you speak to your brother while your face is relaxed towards him, or even if you empty your bucket in the vessel of one seeking rainwater, and perform the practice of tucking up your lower garment. If you refuse, then do it with your calves; and beware of draping the garment below the ankles, for indeed draping it below the ankles is an indication of arrogance. Surely, Allah does not love arrogance.'"
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are a people from the Badia (desert) and we would like for you to teach us a deed that may benefit us with it." He said, "Do not belittle any act of goodness, even if you were to empty your bucket into the vessel of the one collecting water, and even if you were to speak to your brother with a cheerful face, and beware of trailing your garment, for indeed this is from arrogance, and Allah does not love arrogance. And if a man insults you with something that he knows about you, do not insult him with something that you know about him. For indeed, his reward for that will be upon him, and his sin will be upon you."

[Machine] "Indeed, Allah does not look at a person's outward appearance."
Three are the (persons) with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would look at them nor would absolve the and there is a painful chastisement for them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeated it three times. Abu Dharr remarked: They failed and they lost; who are these persons, Messenger of Allah? Upon this he (the Holy) Prophet) observed: They are: the dragger of lower garment, the recounter of obligation the seller of goods by false oath. (Using translation from Muslim 106a)
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'There are three to whom Allah (the Mighty and Sublime) will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment: The one who reminds others of what he has given them (Al-Mannan), the one who lets his Izar come below his ankles, and the one who sells his product by means of false oaths." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5333)
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the prayer of a man whose garment is below his ankles is not accepted."
[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ take hold of the garment of Sufyan ibn Sahl al-Thaqafi and he said, "O Sufyan ibn Sahl, do not drag your garment, for Allah does not like those who drag their garments."
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5787)

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "The garment of the believer extends from his waist to halfway down his leg and anything below that is in the Hellfire." 9627 Yahya reported to us: Muhammad ibn Ibrahim reported to us from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The garment of a Muslim" and he mentioned the rest of the hadith.
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whatever of the Izar comes below the ankles is in the Fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5330)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The garment of a believer should reach the halfway point of his shins, and anything below that is in the Fire."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The waist of a believer is down to the middle of his legs." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said, "And this hadith is incorrect, meaning the hadith of Fuleih, and Fuleih ibn Sulaiman is not strong, and his brother Abdul Hamid is weaker than Fuleih."
I asked Abu Sa'id al-Khudri about wearing lower garment. He said: You have come to the man who knows it very well. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The way for a believer to wear a lower garment is to have it halfway down his legs and he is guilty of no sin if it comes halfway between that and the ankles, but what comes lower than the ankles is in Hell. On the day of Resurrection. Allah will not look at him who trails his lower garment conceitedly. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4093)
“I said to Abu Sa’eed: ‘Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concerning the lower wrap?’ He said: ‘Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘The lower wrap of the believer should come to mid-calf, but there is no sin on him if it comes between that point and the ankle. But whatever is lower than the ankle is in the Fire.’ And he said three times: ‘Allah will not look at the one who lets his lower wrap drag out of vanity.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3573)

[Machine] Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as the governor of Madinah. Whenever he saw someone dragging their clothes, he would kick them with his foot and say, "The prince has come, the prince has come." Then he would quote Abu Al-Qasim, ﷺ , as saying, "Allah does not look favorably upon those who drag their clothes arrogantly."
