52. Adornments
٥٢۔ كِتَابُ الزِّينَةِ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] saw him wearing two garments dyed with safflower and he said: "This is the clothing of disbelievers; do not wear it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5316)
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَانِ مُعَصْفَرَانِ فَقَالَ «هَذِهِ ثِيَابُ الْكُفَّارِ فَلَا تَلْبَسْهَا»
He came to the Prophet [SAW] wearing two garments dyed with safflower. The Prophet [SAW] got angry and said: "Go and take them off." He said: "Where should I throw them, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "In the fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5317)
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَانِ مُعَصْفَرَانِ فَغَضِبَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَاطْرَحْهُمَا عَنْكَ» قَالَ أَيْنَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «فِي النَّارِ»
"She is his wife in the world and in the Hereafter." - meaning: 'Aishah [may Allah be pleased with her]. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3889)
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ
[Machine] "Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from wearing gold rings and reciting the Quran while bowing, and from wearing silk garments. He further added a fourth prohibition regarding this matter. Regarding this issue, Naafi' reported that Muadh ibn Jabal disagreed with him. Ibrahim ibn Abdullah ibn Hunain narrated this from one of the followers of Abbas."
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ مِثْلَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَا أَقُولُ نَهَاكُمْ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ وَلُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَزَادَ فِيهِ الرَّابِعَةَ وَعَنِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ الْمُفَدَّمِ خَالَفَهُ نَافِعٌ رَوَاهُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ مَوَالِي الْعَبَّاسِ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the use of yellow dye, coarse clothing, and reciting the Quran while in the state of rukoo (bowing). Al-Zuhri contradicted this and narrated it from Ibrahim ibn Abdullah ibn Hunayn, from his father, from Ali."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَالثِّيَابِ الْقَسِّيَّةِ وَعَنْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ» [420] خَالَفَهُ الزُّهْرِيُّ رَوَاهُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited wearing Al-Qassi and what was dyed with 'Usfur." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1725)
«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لِبَاسِ الْمُعَصْفَرَةِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited me from three things: wearing gold rings, wearing saffron-dyed garments, and reciting Quran during Ruku (bowing in prayer). Isma'il ibn Ja'far contradicted this narration, which was reported from Shurayk, who heard it from Abdullah ibn Hunayn.
نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ خَالَفَهُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1044)
«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرَةِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to send his garments, his shirt, his cloak, and his loin cloth to some of his family members, and he loved them the most who would fill them with saffron.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُرْسِلُ ثِيَابَهُ قَمِيصَهُ وَرِدَاءَهُ وَإِزَارَهُ إِلَى بَعْضِ أَهْلِهِ فَأَحَبُّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي يُشْبِعُهَا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ
