"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Izar should come to the middle of the shins and the calf. If you insist, then a little lower, and if you insist, then a little further down, but the Izar has no right to (come to) the ankle." This is the wordings of Muhammad. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5329)  

الكبرى للنسائي:٩٦٠٨أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of the calf of my shin - or his shin - and he said: "This is the place of the Izar, if you must lower it, then the Izar has no right to be on the ankles."  

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. Ath-Thawri and Shu'bah reported it from Abu Ishaq.
الترمذي:١٧٨٣حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ نَذِيرٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
