البيهقي:١٤٦٥٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ نا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ كَانَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَعَائِشَةُ ؓ لَا يَرَيَانِ بِالشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا بَأْسًا كَانَا يَشْرَبَانِ وَهُمَا قَائِمَانِ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ أَنَّهُ

كَانَ يَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا

Anas reported Allah's Apostle ﷺ disapproved the drinking of water while standing.  

مسلم:٢٠٢٤a – حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ زَجَرَ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا  

muslim:2025a – Haddāb b. Khālid > Hammām > Qatādah > Abū ʿĪsá al-Uswārī > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ warned against drinking while standing.  

مسلم:٢٠٢٥a – حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِيسَى الأُسْوَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ زَجَرَ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا  

muslim:2025b – Zuhayr b. Ḥarb And Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná And Ibn Bashhār Wa-al-Lafẓ Lizuhayr And Ibn al-Muthanná > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Abū ʿĪsá al-Uswārī > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported this hadith through another chain of transmitters but with a slight, variation of wording.  

مسلم:٢٠٢٥b – وَحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِزُهَيْرٍ وَابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِيسَى الأُسْوَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا  

ibnmajah:3424 – Ḥumayd b. Masʿadah > Bishr b. al-Mufaḍḍal > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas

It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking while standing up.  

ابن ماجة:٣٤٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا  

malik:49-16 – Mālik > ʿĀmir b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr from his father

Yahya related to me from Malik from Amir ibn Abdullah ibn az- Zubayr that his father used to drink while standing.  

مالك:٤٩-١٦ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا  

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ الشَّيْءِ الَّذِي يُبِيحُهُ الْفِعْلُ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ قَبْلُ

ibnhibban:5321 – Abū Yaʿlá > Hudbah b. Khālid > Hammām b. Yaḥyá > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik

Anas reported Allah's Apostle ﷺ disapproved the drinking of water while standing. (Using translation from Muslim 2024a)

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا»  

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ أَنْ يَشْرَبَ الْمَرْءُ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ قَاعِدٍ

ibnhibban:5323 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > Hudbah b. Khālid > Hammām b. Yaḥyá > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik

It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking while standing up. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3424)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ زَجَرَ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا»  

tabarani:12253 – Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. Ismāʿīl al-Qaṭṭān al-Baghdādī > Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm al-Tarjumānī > ʿĪsá b. Maymūn > ʿAbd al-Karīm > Saʿīd b. Jubayr > Ibn ʿAbbās

الطبراني:١٢٢٥٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْقَطَّانُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «شَرِبَ قَائِمًا»
