الطبراني:١٣٠٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُطْعِمُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ كَتَبَ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ طَلَبْتَ الْخِلَافَةَ وَإِنَّ الْخِلَافَةَ لَا تَصْلُحُ لِعَيِيٍّ وَلَا بَخِيلٍ وَلَا غَيُورٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «§أَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتَ مِنَ الْخِلَافَةِ أَنِّي طَلَبْتُهَا فَمَا طَلَبْتُهَا وَمَا هِيَ مِنْ بَالِي وَأَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتَ مِنَ الْعِيِّ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْغَيْرَةِ فَإِنَّ مَنْ جَمَعَ كِتَابَ اللهِ فَلَيْسَ بِعَيِيٍّ وَمَنْ أَدَّى زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ فَلَيْسَ بِبَخِيلٍ وَأَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتَ مِنَ الْغَيْرَةِ فَإِنَّ أَحَقَّ مَا غِرْتُ فِيهِ وَلَدِي

أَنْ يُشْرِكَنِي فِيهِ غَيْرِي»
