[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking while standing. [Someone] said, "I asked him about eating", and he replied, "That is even worse."  

الدارمي:٢١٧٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا» قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْأَكْلِ قَالَ ذَاكَ أَخْبَثُ

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking while standing. I said, "What about eating?" He said, "That is even more reprehensible."  

أحمد:١٢٨٧١ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا قُلْتُ فَالْأَكْلُ؟ قَالَ ذَاكَ أَشَدُّ  

ahmad:13943 – Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Anas

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking while standing. I said, "What about eating?" He said, "That is even more intense."  

أحمد:١٣٩٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا قَالَ قُلْتُ فَالْأَكْلُ؟ قَالَ ذَاكَ أَشَدُّ  

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ الشَّيْءِ الَّذِي يُبِيحُهُ الْفِعْلُ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ قَبْلُ

ibnhibban:5321 – Abū Yaʿlá > Hudbah b. Khālid > Hammām b. Yaḥyá > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik

Anas reported Allah's Apostle ﷺ disapproved the drinking of water while standing. (Using translation from Muslim 2024a)
