0. Introduction (6/14)
[Machine] Why do I see your scholars go while your ignorant ones do not learn? Learn before knowledge is lifted, for the lifting of knowledge is the departure of scholars.
[Machine] "People are knowledgeable and educated, and there is no good in anything after that."
[Machine] The teacher of goodness and the learner in reward are equal, and there is no better (reward) for the rest of the people.
[Machine] "Be a scholar, a learner, or a listener, and do not be the fourth, for it will lead to your destruction."
[Machine] Salman said, "People will continue to be in good as long as the first person learns, and when the first person dies before the last person learns, people will perish."
[Machine] "People excelled in building during the time of Umar, so Umar said, 'O tribe of Arabs, the land, the land! There is no Islam without a community, and there is no community without leadership, and there is no leadership without obedience. Whoever guides his people towards understanding will have a good life for himself and his people, and whoever leads his people astray from understanding will bring destruction upon himself and his people.'"
0.27 [Machine] Working with knowledge and good intentions in it
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah the Almighty says: 'I do not accept all the words of the wise, but I accept his concerns and desires. If his concerns and desires are in obedience to Me, I make his silence a praise for Me and a dignity. But if he does not speak...
[Machine] "I spread knowledge in the end of time so that men, women, slaves, free people, young, and old may acquire it. When I do that with them, I have taken them by my right upon them."
[Machine] "Whoever seeks something from this knowledge and intends with it what is with Allah, he will attain it if Allah wills. And whoever intends with it worldly gain, then that is his portion from it by Allah."
[Machine] Ibn Mas'ood said: "Do not seek knowledge for three reasons: to argue with fools, to debate with scholars, and to attract people's attention towards yourselves. Seek with your words what is with Allah, for it will endure and remain, while everything else will eventually perish."
[Machine] "Be the springs of knowledge, the lamps of guidance, the abodes of houses, the lanterns of the night, the renewers of hearts, the creators of garments. You are known to the people of the heavens and hidden to the people of the earth."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one seeks this knowledge except for worldly gains, but Allah will prohibit them from entering Paradise on the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] "The knowledgeable one is the one who fears Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
[Machine] "Learn knowledge so that you may be recognized by it and act upon it so that you may be considered amongst its people. For surely, there will come a time after this where the people will not recognize their own nineteen attributes, and none will be safe from it except for every sleeper. Those are the leaders of guidance and the lanterns of knowledge, they are not the followers of mischief or the spreaders of lies." Abu Muhammad said, "A sleeper is oblivious to evil, and the spreaders of lies talk excessively, and the gossipers are those who pass on rumors."
[Machine] "To know that Allah will not reward you with knowledge until you act upon it."
[Machine] "We speak or find in books that whoever Allah, the Almighty, bestows knowledge upon and acts upon it in a way of guidance, He will deprive him of his intellect until Allah takes it back."
[Machine] I heard Abu Darda say, "Indeed, from the worst of people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection is a scholar who does not benefit from his knowledge."
[Machine] Abu Darda said, "Whoever increases in knowledge, increases in pain."
I am not afraid to be told what I do not know, but I am afraid to be told what I have done.
[Machine] Studying knowledge for an hour during the night is better than reviving it.
[Machine] He informed us and Abu Huraira said, "Indeed, I divide the night into three parts. I sleep for one third, I stand in worship for one third, and I remember the sayings of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, for one third."
[Machine] "Whoever seeks something from knowledge, seeking thereby the Face of Allah, Exalted is He, Allah will grant him from it what is sufficient for him."
0.28 [Machine] Who fears danger?
[Machine] According to a narration that was narrated to me, I said, "Indeed, it is attributed to the Prophet ﷺ." He (the narrator) replied, "No, it is more beloved to us that if there is an increase or decrease [in the narration], it is attributed to someone other than the Prophet ﷺ."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prohibited engaging in mukhaalah and muzabana. It was said to him, "Do you not preserve any other hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He replied, "Yes, but I say what Abdullah said, and Alqamah said it is more beloved to me."
[Machine] Abu Darda used to say, when he spoke about a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "This is it, or similar to it, or resembling it, or bearing its form."
[Machine] Abu Darda used to say, whenever he narrated a hadith: "O Allah, grant it (the hadith) to be in this manner or similar to it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah said, "It was a dark night, and then the Messenger of Allah said, and his eyes bulged and his veins swelled, and I saw him as if his buttons were loosed and he said, 'Or like it, or similar to it, or something like it.'"
[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic text is:
"About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , his face would show signs of concern during certain days, and he would say, 'Like this, or something similar to this, like this or something similar to this.'"
[Machine] For the people, have you seen so-and-so who says, "The Messenger of Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said?" I sat with Ibn Umar for two or two and a half years, and I did not hear him narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except for this hadith.
My nephew, leave him for he defended Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Muslim 2487a)
[Machine] "He updates us monthly with two or three news stories."
[Machine] Did you hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said, "And I am preparing for."
[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and whenever he mentioned the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he would say: "Or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.""
"Whenever Anas bin Malik finished narrating a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would say, 'Or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 24)
[Machine] "I went out with Saad to Makkah, but I did not hear him narrating any hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we returned to Madinah."
[Machine] "When Umar joined the Ansar as they were leaving the city, he said, 'Do you know why I have accompanied you?' We replied, 'For the sake of the Ansar.' He said, 'Indeed, you are going to meet a people whose tongues are fluent with the recitation of the Quran, like the shaking of palm trees. Do not argue with them by talking about the Prophet's ﷺ sayings, for I am a partner with you.' I refrained from talking about anything, while having heard as my companions heard."
[Machine] Indeed, you come to Kufa, and you come to a people who have zeal for the Quran. They come to you and say, "The Companions of Muhammad have come, the Companions of Muhammad have come!" They come to you and ask you about the hadiths, so know that the best wudu consists of three and two. Then he said, "Indeed, you come to Kufa, and you come to a people who have zeal for the Quran. They come to you and say, 'The Companions of Muhammad have come, the Companions of Muhammad have come!' They come to you and ask you about the hadiths, so convey less narration from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I am your partner in it." Qarada said, "And I used to sit with the people while they mentioned the hadiths from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I used to memorize them for him. When I mentioned the will of Umar, he remained silent." Abu Muhammad said, "What he means is that I have the narration about the days of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , not the Sunnah and the obligations."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, then he trembled, and then he said something along those lines or beyond that.
[Machine] About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a hadith except that he said, "I was with the Prophet ﷺ , and a branch was brought to him and he said, 'From among the trees, there is a tree similar to a Muslim man.' I intended to say, 'It is the date-palm tree,' but then I looked and saw that I was the shortest among the people, so I remained silent." Umar said, "I wish you had said it, and upon me is this."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is a sign of a person's greatness and fear of God that he does not lie about others."
[Machine] Abu Huraira came to Kaab to ask about him, and Kaab was among the people. Kaab asked, "What do you want from him?" Abu Huraira replied, "I do not know anyone among the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who has better memory of his statements than me." Kaab said, "Indeed, you will not find a seeker of something who does not become satisfied with it one day in his life, except for a seeker of knowledge or a seeker of the worldly life." Abu Huraira asked, "Are you Kaab?" He replied, "Yes." Abu Huraira then said, "I came for someone like you."
[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most knowledgeable among the people?" He said, "The one who gathers the knowledge of the people to his own knowledge, and every seeker of knowledge is a branch extended towards knowledge."
[Machine] A young man among the people said, "Overflow in the remembrance of Allah. May Allah bless you." Then the people looked at each other, wondering what they had seen. Then some of them asked, "Who commanded you to do this?" So, when you return, command us, and we will do the same."
[Machine] "Abdullah said, 'What a noble gathering it is, a gathering in which wisdom is spread and mercy is hoped for.'"
0.29 [Machine] Who said: "Knowledge is fear and mindfulness of Allah"?

from Abu Ad-Darda who said: "We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he raised his sight to the sky, then he said: 'This is the time when knowledge is to be taken from the people, until what remains of it shall not amount to anything." So Ziyad bin Labid Al-Ansari said: 'How will it be taken from us while we recite the Qur'an. By Allah we recite it, and our women and children recite it?' He ﷺ said: 'May you be bereaved of your mother O Ziyad! I used to consider you among the Fuqaha of the people of Al-Madinah. The Tawrah and Injil are with the Jews and Christians, but what do they avail of them?'" Jubair said: "So I met 'Ubadah bin As-Samit and said to him: 'Have you not heard what your brother Abu Ad-Darda said?' Then I informed him of what Abu Ad-Darda said. He said: 'Abu Ad-Darda spoke the truth. If you wish, we shall narrated to you about the first knowledge to be removed from the people: It is Khushu', soon you will enter the congregational Masjid, but not see any man in it with Khushu'.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2653)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like my superiority over the least among you." Then he recited this verse, "It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allah." [Fatir 28] Then he said, "Indeed, Allah and His angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, and even the fish in the sea pray for those who teach people goodness."
[Machine] "A man is not considered knowledgeable until he does not envy those above him, does not belittle those below him, and does not seek a price for his knowledge."
[Machine] I heard Abd al-A'la al-Taymi saying, "Whoever is given knowledge that does not make him cry, it is as if he has not been given knowledge at all, because Allah exalted the status of the scholars." Then he recited the verse from Surah Al-Isra (17:107) until the saying, "They will cry" (17:109).
[Machine] "Do not be a scholar until you possess three qualities: do not seek superiority over others, do not belittle those beneath you, and do not use your knowledge for worldly gain."
