[Machine] That those were present during the time of the Prophet ﷺ when the majority of the Qur'an was revealed, they ask you, they ask you.

darimi:202Ismāʿīl b. Abān > Muḥammad > Ibn Ṭalḥah > Maymūn Abū Ḥamzah

[Machine] "O Abu Hamza, by Allah, I have spoken the truth even if I may have found trouble in doing so. And indeed, there is a time when I may become a scholar amongst the people of Kufa, during a time of adversity."

darimi:203Abū Nuʿaym > Sufyān > Layth > Mujāhid

[Machine] Omar, with stubbornness, meaning in speech.

darimi:204Ḥajjāj al-Baṣrī > Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī > al-Shaʿbī > Shahidt Shurayḥ And Jāʾah a man from Murād > Yā Abū Umayyah Mā Diyah al-Aṣābiʿ > ʿAshr ʿAshr

[Machine] I witnessed a dispute, and a man from Murad came to him and said, "O Abu Umamah, what is the blood money for the fingers?" He replied, "Ten dirhams, ten dirhams." The man said, "Subhan Allah! Are these fingers equal?" He joined the ring finger with the thumb and said, "O Abu Umamah, are your ear and hand equal?" Because the ear covers the hair, the turban, and has half of the blood money, and the hand has the other half. Woe unto you! The sunnah has preceded your analogy, so follow it and do not innovate, for you will not go astray as long as you adhere to the tradition." Abu Bakr said, "Then Ash-Sha'bi told me, 'O Dhu al-Iyyad, if one of your tribesmen is killed and this baby is in his cradle, would their blood money be the same?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'So where is the analogy?'"

darimi:205Marwān b. Muḥammad > Saʿīd > Rabīʿah b. Yazīd > Muʿādh b. Jabal Yuftaḥ al-Qurān > al-Nās Ḥattá Yaqraʾah al-Marʾah And al-Ṣṣabī Wa-al-Rrajul

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, regarding "Perhaps I am being followed", Mu'adh said, "Beware of what he has brought, for what he has brought is misguidance."

darimi:206Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Mālik > Ibn Mighwal > Qāl Lī al-Shaʿbī Mā Ḥaddathūk Haʾulāʾ

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah, take what he has said and discard what they have said based on their opinions, and throw it into the trash.

darimi:207Zayd b. Ḥubāb > Rajāʾ b. Abū Salamah > ʿAbdah b. Abū Lubābah > Qad Raḍīt from Ahl Zamānī Haʾulāʾ > Lā Yasʾalūnī And Lā Asʾaluhum Innamā

[Machine] "They do not ask me, and I do not ask them. One of them only says, "Have you seen, have you seen?"

darimi:208ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Zayd > ʿĀṣim Ibn Bahdalah > Abū Wāʾil > ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a line for us one day and said, "This is the way of Allah." Then he drew lines to his right and left and said, "These are various paths, on each of them there is a devil who calls to it." Then he recited, "And that this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for they will separate you from His way." [Surah Al-An'am: 153]

darimi:209Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > And Rqāʾ > Ibn Abū Najīḥ > Mujāhid Walā Tattabiʿūā al-Subul al-Nʿām 153

[Machine] About mujahid [And do not follow the ways] [Al-Anam 153] He said: Bid'ah (innovation in religion) and doubtful matters.

darimi:210al-Ḥakam b. al-Mubārak > ʿAmr b. Yaḥyá > Abū from his father

[Machine] Abu Abdurrahman came out to you and we said, "There is no need." So he sat with us until he left. When he left, we all got up and went to him. Abu Musa said to him, "O Abu Abdurrahman, I saw something in the mosque that I disapproved of but did not witness it before. Alhamdulillah, it turned out to be something good." He asked, "What is it?" Abu Musa said, "I saw some people sitting in circles, waiting for the prayer. In each circle, there was a man holding a pebble in his hand. He would say, 'Say Allahu Akbar one hundred times,' and they would say it one hundred times. Then he would say, 'Say Alhamdulillah one hundred times,' and they would say it one hundred times. Finally, he would say, 'Say SubhanAllah one hundred times,' and they would say it one hundred times." Abu Abdurrahman asked, "What did you say to them?" Abu Musa replied, "I did not say anything to them and I was waiting for your opinion or command." Abu Abdurrahman said, "Shouldn't you ask them to count their sins? I guarantee that nothing will be lost from their good deeds." Then he continued walking and we followed him until he reached one of those circles and stood among them. He asked, "What are you all doing?" They said, "O Abu Abdurrahman, we are counting the takbeer, tahleel, and tasbeeh with this pebble." He said, "Count your sins, for I guarantee that nothing will be lost from your good deeds. Woe to you, O nation of Muhammad, how quickly you will be destroyed! These are the Companions of your Prophet ﷺ, still present. His clothes have not faded and his utensils have not been broken. By the One who holds my soul in His hand, you are on a path more guided than the path of Muhammad ﷺ, or are you opening the door of misguidance?" They said, "By Allah, O Abu Abdurrahman, we only seek goodness." He said, "How many seekers of goodness will not achieve it? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that there are people who recite the Quran, but it does not pass their throats. And by Allah, I do not know if most of them are among you." Then he turned away from them. Amr ibn Salama said, "We see many of those circles criticizing us on the Day of Nahrwan along with the Khawarij."

darimi:212Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Abū Khalaf > Yaḥyá b. Sulaym > Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad from his father > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh al-Anṣārī

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a speech, praised Allah and thanked Him, then he said: "Verily, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ , and the worst of matters are those newly invented (in religion), and every innovation is misguidance."

darimi:213Muḥammad b. ʿUyaynah > Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī > Aslam al-Minqarī > Bilād b. ʿIṣmah > ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd

[Machine] "The most truthful word is the word of Allah Almighty, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ . The most miserable person is the one who is miserable in the womb of his mother. The worst narrations are the narrations of lies, and the worst matters are the newly-invented ones. And everything that is coming is near."

[Machine] A man entered upon us at noon, so I said, "O Abdullah, where have you come from?" He replied, "I came with my companion to a brothel, where my companion went in seeking pleasure. Meanwhile, I entered to find some shade and have a drink." Then, I went to a sour pit and perhaps she may have said to me, "Then, I went to a sour pit and gave him some to drink from it, so he drank and I drank." She said, "And I observed him, so I said, 'O Abdullah, who are you?' He said, 'I am Abu Bakr.' I said, 'Are you Abu Bakr, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whom I have heard about?' He said, 'Yes.' She said, 'Then, I mentioned the conquest of Khaybar and our expedition against each other during the pre-Islamic period, and what Allah brought us of unity and severing the ties of those who opposed us. Ibn 'Awn showed us his fingers and described it for us. Mu'adh and Ahmad also showed it for us.' So I said, 'O Abdullah, until when do you think this matter of the people will continue?' The people said, "She has intended to perform Hajj without speaking." He said to her, "Speak, for it is illegal not to speak, as it is an action of the pre-islamic period of ignorance. So she spoke and said, "Who are you?" He said, "A man from the Emigrants." She asked, "Which Emigrants?" He replied, "From Quraish." She asked, "From what branch of Quraish are you?" He said, "You ask too many questions; I am Abu Bakr." She said, "How long shall we enjoy this good order (i.e. Islamic religion) which Allah has brought after the period of ignorance?" He said, "You will enjoy it as long as your Imams keep on abiding by its rules and regulations." She asked, "What are the Imams?" He said, "Were there not heads and chiefs of your nation who used to order the people and they used to obey them?" She said, "Yes." He said, "So they (i.e. the Imams) are those whom I meant."
