A brother of yours has died, so stand up and offer prayer over him. So we stood up and drew ourselves up into two rows.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخًا لَكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَقُمْنَا فَصَفَّنَا صَفَّيْنِ

A brother of yours has died; so stand up and offer prayer for him, i. e. Negus. And in the hadith transmitted by Zubair (the words are):" Your brother."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخًا لَكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ يَعْنِي النَّجَاشِيَ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ زُهَيْرٍ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What I fear most from my Ummah is the behavior of the people of Lut."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلُ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ

the Messenger of Allah said: "Your brother has died, so get up and offer the funeral prayer for him." So we formed two rows for him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَصَفَفْنَا عَلَيْهِ صَفَّيْنِ

“Your brother Najashi has died, so stand and pray for him.” So we formed two rows behind him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَصَففنَا خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ

“The thing that I most fear for my nation is the action of the people of Lut.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلُ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Verily, what I fear for my nation is the misleading leaders."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, "I fear only for my nation the misleading leaders."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ»

ʿThe thing I fear most for my Ummah is every hypocrite who speaks with knowledgeʿ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي كُلُّ مُنَافِقٍ عَلِيمِ اللِّسَانِ

“The thing that I most fear for my nation is the action of the people of Lut.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2563)

وَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلُ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1946)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your brother An-Najashi has passed away, so seek forgiveness for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, your brother An-Najashi has passed away, so seek forgiveness for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1946)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخًا لَكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ يَعْنِي النَّجَاشِيَّ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Your brother Najashi has died, so offer the funeral prayer for him.” Then he stood and we prayed behind him. I was in the second row and two rows prayed for him.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1535)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَصَفَفْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا تُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed, your brother An-Najashi has passed away, so pray upon him.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I fear only for my Ummah the misguided leaders."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, what I fear the most for my Ummah (community) are the misguided leaders."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1946)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the thing that I fear most for you is to associate partners with Allah (committing shirk), and he mentioned its meaning."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it clear to us that the most fearful thing I fear for you is the misguiding leaders.

عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَئِمَّةُ الْمُضِلُّونَ

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ, "Verily, what I fear the most for my ummah (nation) is the actions of the people of Lot." Authenticated by the chain of narration, authentic.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ صحيح

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "The thing I fear the most for you is the argumentation of the hypocrite with eloquent speech."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَخْوَفُ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ جِدَالُ الْمُنَافِقِ عَلِيمِ اللِّسَانِ»

عَنِ النَّبِيّ ﷺ؛ أَنَّه قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَلا آكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, your brother An-Najashi has passed away, so pray for him."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your brother An-Najashi has passed away, so seek forgiveness for him".

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ مَاتَ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, your brother, An-Najashi, has passed away, so seek forgiveness for him."

لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, your brother, the Negus, has passed away, so pray for him."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيُّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your brother Al-Najashi has died, so stand up and offer prayers on him." So we lined up as we line up for the deceased and prayed on him as we pray on the deceased.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيُّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ» فَصَفَفْنَا كَمَا نُصَفُّ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ فَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا نُصَلِّي عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your brother has died, so get up and pray for him."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1946)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your brother has passed away, so stand and pray upon him." So we stood and prayed upon him.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ» فَقُمْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, what I fear the most for you after me is every hypocrite who is knowledgeable in speech."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ بَعْدِي كُلُّ مُنَافِقٍ عَلِيمِ اللِّسَانِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, your brother Al-Najashi has passed away, so pray for him." Ibn Abi Shayba added in his narration: "So we lined up in two rows behind him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ» زَادَ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ «فَصَفَفَنَا خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The thing I fear the most for my ummah (nation) is three: the slip-up of a knowledgeable person, the argumentation of a hypocrite using the Quran, and the worldly life being opened up to you."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ثَلَاثٌ زَلَّةُ عَالِمٍ وَجِدَالُ مُنَافِقٍ بِالْقُرْآنِ وَدُنْيَا تُفْتَحُ عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿThe thing I fear most for my Ummah is every hypocrite who speaks with knowledgeʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 143)

("أخوفُ ما أخافُ على أمَّتى كلُّ منافقٍ عليم اللسان"

"أخوفُ ما أخافُ على أمَّتى الأئمةُ المُضلُّون ".

"أخوف ما أخاف على أمتى الهوى وطولُ الأملِ" .

"إِنّ أَخاكم النَّجَاشِىَّ قد ماتَ فاسْتَغْفِرُوا لهُ".

"إِنَّ أَخاكم النجاشىَّ قد ماتَ فمن أَراد أَن يصلِّى عليه فَليُصَلِّ".

"إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشىَّ قد مات فَقوموا فصلُّوا عليه".

"إِنَّ أَخوفَ ما أَخاف عليكم بعدى كلُّ منافق عليمُ اللِّسانِ".

"إِنَّ أَخوفَ ما أَخافُ على أُمتى كُلُّ منافقٍ عليمُ اللسان ".

"إِنَّ أخوفَ مَا أَخافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِى الأَئِمَّةُ الْمُضِلُّونَ".

"إِنَّ أَخوفَ مَا أَخافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِى عَمَلُ قَوم لُوطٍ ".

"إِنَّمَا أخافُ على أُمَّتِى الأَئِمَّةَ المضلِّينَ ".

"إِنَّمَا أَخافُ عَلَى أمَّتى ثلاثًا شحًّا مُطَاعًا -وهوًى متَّبعًا وإِمامًا ضَالًا".
