16.78 [Machine] From the saying of Abu Darda, A'wwamir

١٦۔٧٨ من حديث أبي الدرداء عويمر

ahmad:27478Abū al-Mughīrah > Abū Bakr b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Maryam al-Ghassānī > Abū al-Aḥwaṣ Ḥakīm b. ʿUmayr And Ḥabīb b. ʿUbayd > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let not one of you neglect to do good for Allah, even if it is just saying SubhanAllah (glory be to Allah) and Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) one hundred times in the morning, for indeed it is a thousand good deeds. And he who does not perform such good works, if Allah wills, will commit sins throughout his day, and what good he will do besides that will be little."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٧٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ الْغَسَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ حَكِيمُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ وَحَبِيبُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَدَعْ رَجُلٌ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ لِلَّهِ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ فَإِنَّهَا أَلْفُ حَسَنَةٍ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَعْمَلُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي يَوْمِهِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَيَكُونُ مَا عَمِلَ مِنْ خَيْرٍ سِوَى ذَلِكَ وَافِرًا

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever causes harm to the Muslims by moving something from their path, Allah will reward him with a good deed. And whoever has a good deed written for him with Allah, He will enter him into Paradise with it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ زَحْزَحَ عَنْ طَرِيقِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا يُؤْذِيهِمْ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةً وَمَنْ كُتِبَلَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةٌ أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ بِهَا الْجَنَّةَ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah, the Exalted, says: Son of Adam, do not be helpless in performing four rak'ahs for Me at the beginning of the day: I will supply what you need till the end of it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1289)   

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ لَا تَعْجَزَنَّ مِنَ الْأَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ نَهَارِكَ أَكْفِكَ آخِرَهُ

My friend (i.e. the Prophet) instructed me to observe three practices that I do not leave while traveling nor while resident, to pray two rakʿahs in the forenoon, to fast three days every month and not to sleep but after observing the witr. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1432)   

أحمد:٢٧٤٨١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ الْمَشْيَخَةِ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ لِشَيْءٍ أَوْصَانِي بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَسُبْحَةِ الضُّحَى فِي الْحَضَرِ وَالسَّفَرِ  

ahmad:27482Abū al-Yamān > Abū Bakr > Ḍamrah b. Ḥabīb > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] Translation: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Allah will give a third of your wealth in charity when you pass away.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ تَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِثُلُثِ أَمْوَالِكُمْ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِكُمْ

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Everything decreases except evil, for it increases in it."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٣حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ بَعْضِ إِخْوَانِهِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَنْقُصُ إِلَّا الشَّرَّ فَإِنَّهُ يُزَادُ فِيهِ  

ahmad:27484Abū Jaʿfar al-Sūwaydī > Abū al-Rabīʿ Sulaymān b. ʿUtbah al-Dimashqī > Yūnus b. Maysarah > Abū Idrīs ʿĀʾidh Allāh > Abū al-Dardāʾ

“No one who is addicted to wine will enter Paradise.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3376)   

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ السُّوَيْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَائِذِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ عَاقٌّ وَلَا مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ وَلَا مُكَذِّبٌ بِقَدَرٍ  

ahmad:27485Yaʿqūb from my father from his father > Akh Liʿadī b. Arṭāh > a man > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it clear to us that the most fearful thing I fear for you is the misguiding leaders.  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٥حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَخٌ لِعَدِيِّ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَئِمَّةُ الْمُضِلُّونَ  

ahmad:27486Haytham b. Khārijah > Abū al-Rabīʿ Sulaymān b. ʿUtbah al-Sulamī > Yūnus b. Maysarah b. Ḥalbas > Abū Idrīs > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said, "If you are forgiven for what you approach animals with, you will be forgiven much."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٦حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ السُّلَمِيُّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ غُفِرَ لَكُمْ مَا تَأْتُونَ إِلَى الْبَهَائِمِ لَغُفِرَ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا  

ahmad:27487Haytham And Samiʿtuh > from Haytham > Abū al-Rabīʿ > Yūnus > Abū Idrīs

[Machine] From Abu Darda', they said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about actions that have been completed? Or should we continue doing them?" He said, "Rather, actions that have been completed." They said, "So what about the action, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Every person is made for what he was created for."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٧حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَيْثَمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ مَا نَعْمَلُ أَمْرٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ أَمْ شَيْءٌ نَسْتَأْنِفُهُ؟ قَالَ بَلْ أَمْرٌ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ قَالُوا فَكَيْفَ بِالْعَمَلِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُهَيَّأٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ  

ahmad:27488Haytham And Samiʿtuh > Minh > Abū al-Rabīʿ > Yūnus > Abū Idrīs > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When Allah created Adam, He struck his right shoulder and brought forth white offspring, as if they were grains of salt. He struck his left shoulder and brought forth black offspring, as if they were charcoal. He said to those on his right side, 'To paradise I send you, and I do not care.' He said to those on his left side, 'To the Hellfire I send you, and I do not care.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٨حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ حِينَ خَلَقَهُ فَضَرَبَ كَتِفَهُ الْيُمْنَى فَأَخْرَجَ ذُرِّيَّةً بَيْضَاءَ كَأَنَّهُمُ الذَّرُّ وَضَرَبَ كَتِفَهُ الْيُسْرَى فَأَخْرَجَ ذُرِّيَّةً سَوْدَاءَ كَأَنَّهُمُ الْحُمَمُ فَقَالَ لِلَّذِي فِي يَمِينِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا أُبَالِي وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي فِي كَفِّهِ الْيُسْرَى إِلَى النَّارِ وَلَا أُبَالِي

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Indeed, Allah the Almighty will say on the Day of Judgment to Adam, 'Rise and prepare from your descendants 999 to the Hellfire and one to Paradise.' So, his companions wept and cried. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, 'Raise your heads. By the One in whose hand is my soul, none of my Ummah (nation) will be cast into the nations except as a white hair on the hide of a black bull. This will be made easy for them.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٤٨٩حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِآدَمَ قُمْ فَجَهِّزْ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ تِسْعَ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَوَاحِدًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَبَكَى أَصْحَابُهُ وَبَكَوْا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ارْفَعُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا أُمَّتِي فِي الْأُمَمِ إِلَّا كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ فَخَفَّفَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُمْ

from the Prophet ﷺ who said, “Everything has a reality, and the servant will not reach the reality of faith until he knows that what afflicted him could never miss him, and that what missed him could never have afflicted him.”  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٠حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَقِيقَةٌ وَمَا بَلَغَ عَبْدٌ حَقِيقَةَ الْإِيمَانِ حَتَّى يَعْلَمَ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَهُ وَمَا أَخْطَأَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَهُ  

ahmad:27491Ḥasan > Ibn Lahīʿah > Wāhb b. ʿAbdullāh > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever says, 'There is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner, will enter Paradise." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals," while pointing at the nose of Abu Darda. I said, "So I went out to call people with this information." Umar met me and said, "Go back, for if people knew about this, they would rely on it." So I went back and informed him, and he, ﷺ , said, "Umar has spoken the truth."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩١حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ وَاهبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ لِأُنَادِيَ بِهَا فِي النَّاسِ قَالَ فَلَقِيَنِي عُمَرُ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ إِنْ عَلِمُوا بِهَذِهِ اتَّكَلُوا عَلَيْهَا فَرَجَعْتُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ﷺ فَقَالَ ﷺ صَدَقَ عُمَرُ  

ahmad:27492Surayj b. al-Nuʿmān > Hushaym > ʿAbbād b. Rāshid al-Minqarī > al-Ḥasan And ʾAbī Qilābah Kānā Jālisayn > Abū Qilābah > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever intentionally misses the Asr prayer until it is missed, his deeds will be nullified."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٢حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَأَبِي قِلَابَةَ كَانَا جَالِسَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَرَكَ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ مُتَعَمِّدًا حَتَّى تَفُوتَهُ فَقَدْ أُحْبِطَ عَمَلُهُ  

ahmad:27493Ḥasan b. Mūsá And Sulaymān b. Ḥarb > Ḥammād b. Salamah > ʿAlī b. Zayd > Bilāl b. Abū al-Dardāʾ > Abū al-Dardāʾ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'There is no one on earth, or under the sky, who speaks more truthfully than Abu Dharr.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 156)   

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٣حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَظَلَّتِ الْخَضْرَاءُ وَلَا أَقَلَّتْ الْغَبْرَاءُ مِنْ ذِي لَهْجَةٍ أَصْدَقَ مِنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ  

ahmad:27494Yaḥyá b. Ghaylān > Rishdīn > ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith > Saʿīd b. Abū Hilāl > ʿUmar al-Dimashqī > Mukhbir > Um al-Dardāʾ > Abū al-Dardāʾ

“Abu Darda’ told me that he did eleven prostrations* with the Prophet ﷺ, including An-Najm.” *Eleven Ayaat of prostrations. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1055)   

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ أَنَّ مُخْبِرًا أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَجَدْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ سَجْدَةً مِنْهُنَّ النَّجْمُ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Can any of you not recite one-third of the Quran in one night?" It was said, "Who among us is capable of that?" He said, "Recite 'Say, He is Allah, the One.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٥حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي أَبَا دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَيَعْجَزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ؟ فَقِيلَ وَمَنْ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ اقْرَأْ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ  

ahmad:27496ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAmr And Ibn Abū Bukayr > Ibrāhīm / Ibn Nāfiʿ > al-Ḥasan b. Muslim > Khālih ʿAṭāʾ b. Nāfiʿ > Um Dakhalūā > Um al-Dardāʾ Faʾakhbarathum > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best thing in the scale is good manners."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ نَافِعٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ خَالِهِ عَطَاءِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ أَنَّهُمْ دَخَلُوا عَلَى أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ فَأَخْبَرَتْهُمْ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ شَيْءٍ فِي الْمِيزَانِ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ أَثْقَلَ شَيْءٍ فِي الْمِيزَانِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْخُلُقُ الْحَسَنُ

[Machine] Narrated to us Maymun, meaning Abu Muhammad Al-Marayi Al-Tamimi, said: Narrated to us Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam, who said: I accompanied Abu Ad-Darda, to learn from him. When death approached him, he said, "Inform the people of my death, so I announced his death to the people. I came and found the house filled with people and no one else. I said, "I have informed the people of your death, and the house is filled with people and no one else." He said, "Take me out." So we took him out. He said, "Sit me down." So we sat him down. He said, "O people, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever performs the ablution and perfects it, then prays two units of prayer, Allah will grant him whatever he asks for, whether swiftly or delayed.'" Abu Ad-Darda said, "O people, beware of looking around during prayer, for there is no prayer for the one who looks around. If you are defeated in voluntary prayer, do not be defeated in obligatory prayer."

حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونٌ يَعْنِي أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرَائِيَّ التَّمِيمِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ أَتَعَلَّمُ مِنْهُ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ آذِنِ النَّاسَ بِمَوْتِي فَآذَنْتُ النَّاسَ بِمَوْتِهِ فَجِئْتُ وَقَدْ مُلِئَ الدَّارُ وَمَا سِوَاهُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ قَدْ آذَنْتُ النَّاسَ بِمَوْتِكَ وَقَدْ مُلِئَ الدَّارُ وَمَا سِوَاهُ قَالَ أَخْرِجُونِي فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُ قَالَ أَجْلِسُونِي قَالَ فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَسْبَغَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ يُتِمُّهُمَا أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ مَا سَأَلَ مُعَجِّلًا أَوْ مُؤَخِّرًا قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالِالْتِفَاتَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا صَلَاةَ لِمُلْتَفِتٍ فَإِنْ غُلِبْتُمْ فِي التَّطَوُّعِ فَلَا تُغْلَبُنَّ فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ  

ahmad:27498Muḥammad b. Bakr And ʿAbd al-Wahhāb > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Sālim b. Abū al-Jaʿd > Maʿdān b. Abū Ṭalḥah al-Yaʿmurī > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Can any one of you recite one third of the Quran in one night?" They said: "We are weaker than that and more incapable." He said: "Verily, Allah (glory be to Him) has divided the Quran into three parts and made 'Say: He is Allah, the One' a part of the Quran."  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٨حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ؟ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَضْعَفُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَعْجَزُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ جَزَّأَ الْقُرْآنَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ فَجَعَلَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ جُزْءًا مِنْ أَجْزَاءِ الْقُرْآنِ  

ahmad:27499And Hb b. Jarīr from my father > Yūnus > al-Zuhrī > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, discussing future events, he said: 'When you hear about a mountain moving from its place, believe in it. And when you hear about a person changing his character, do not believe in him, as he will eventually revert to his original state.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٤٩٩حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَتَذَاكَرُ مَا يَكُونُ إِذْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِجَبَلٍ زَالَ عَنْ مَكَانِهِ فَصَدِّقُوا وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِرَجُلٍ تَغَيَّرَ عَنْ خُلُقِهِ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوا بِهِ وَإِنَّهُ يَصِيرُ إِلَى مَا جُبِلَ عَلَيْهِ

[Machine] "Abu Darda entered upon me in anger, so I asked him, 'Who angered you?' He replied, 'By Allah, I do not know anything about them except that they all pray.'"

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ وَهُوَ مُغْضَبٌ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ أَغْضَبَكَ قَالَ وَاللهِ لَا أَعْرِفُ فِيهِمْ مِنْ أَمْرِ ﷺ مُحَمَّدٍ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَنَّهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ جَمِيعًا  

ahmad:27501ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Sālim b. Abū al-Jaʿd > Um al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] Abu Darda entered upon me while he was angry, so I said to him, "What's wrong with you?" He said, "I know nothing except that prayer is obligatory from the matter of Muhammad ﷺ ."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ وَهُوَ مُغْضَبٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَا لَكَ؟ فَقَالَ مَا أَعْرِفُ مِنْ أَمْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ  

ahmad:27502ʿAbd al-Ṣamad from my father > al-Ḥusayn > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿAmr al-Awzāʿī > Yaʿīsh b. al-Walīd b. Hishām from his father > Maʿdān b. Abū Ṭalḥah > Abū al-Dardāʾ

That Abu ad-Darda' narrated to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ vomited and broke his fast. Then I met Thawban, the client of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in the mosque in Damascus, I said (to him): Abu al-Darda has told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ vomited and broke his fast. He said: He spoke the truth ; and I poured out water for his ablution ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2381)   

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَعْدَانُ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ قَالَ صَدَقَ أَنَا صَبَبْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءَهُ  

ahmad:27503Abū Saʿīd > Abū Yaʿqūb / Isḥāq b. ʿUthmān al-Kilābī > Khālid b. Durayk

[Machine] Narrated by Abu Ad-Darda, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah does not gather in the heart of a person dust in the way of Allah and the smoke of hellfire. And whoever dirties his feet in the way of Allah, Allah prohibits the rest of his body from the fire. And whoever fasts for a day in the way of Allah, Allah distances him from the fire a distance of a journey of a thousand years for the fast traveler. And whoever gets wounded in the way of Allah, he is sealed with the seal of the martyrs, and on the Day of Judgment, he will have a light, its color is like saffron and its fragrance is like musk, which the first and last people will recognize. They say, ‘This is so and so; his seal is that of the martyrs.’ And whoever fights in the way of Allah, his mount will be recorded as a mount that was killed, and Paradise is obligated for him."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ يَعْنِي إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ عُثْمَانَ الْكِلَابِيَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَالِدَ بْنَ دُرَيْكٍ يُحَدِّثُ

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ يَرْفَعُ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَجْمَعُ اللهُ فِي جَوْفِ رَجُلٍ غُبَارًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَدُخَانَ جَهَنَّمَ وَمَنِ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ حَرَّمَ اللهُسَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ عَلَى النَّارِ وَمَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ عَنْهُ النَّارَ مَسِيرَةَ أَلْفِ سَنَةٍ لِلرَّاكِبِ الْمُسْتَعْجِلِ وَمَنْ جُرِحَ جِرَاحَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَتَمَ لَهُ بِخَاتَمِ الشُّهَدَاءِ لَهُ نُورٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَوْنُهَا مِثْلُ لَوْنِ الزَّعْفَرَانِ وَرِيحُهَا مِثْلُ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ يَعْرِفُهُ بِهَا الْأَوَّلُونَ وَالْآخِرُونَ يَقُولُونَ فُلَانٌ عَلَيْهِ طَابَعُ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَمَنْ قَاتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فُوَاقَ نَاقَةٍ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ  

ahmad:27504Ḥammād b. Khālid > Hishām b. Saʿd > ʿUthmān b. Ḥayyān And ʾIsmāʿīl b. ʿUbaydullāh > Um al-Dardāʾiʿan Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] I have seen some of us during our travels, and indeed one of us would put his hand on his head due to the intensity of the heat, and no one among the people was fasting except the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and Abdullah ibn Rawaha. And Abu 'Amir, Uthman ibn Hayyan, said this alone.  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٤حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِنَا وَإِنَّ أَحَدَنَا لَيَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ الْحَرِّ وَمَا فِي الْقَوْمِ صَائِمٌ إِلَّا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ وَقَالَ أَبُو عَامِرٍ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ وَحْدَهُ  

ahmad:27505Wakīʿ > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Thābit or > Abū Thābit

[Machine] "O Allah, grant me companionship, relieve my loneliness, and bless me with a righteous and beloved companion. Abu Darda heard this and said, 'If you are sincere, then I am happy with what you have said. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Among them [the people] are those who wrong themselves' (35:32). The wrongdoer suffers from grief and sorrow in his place. And among them are those who are moderate' (35:32). They will have an easy reckoning. And among them are those who precede [others] in good deeds' (35:32). Those who enter Paradise without any reckoning."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ ثَابِتٍ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَقَالَ

اللهُمَّ آنِسْ وَحْشَتِي وَارْحَمْ غُرْبَتِي وَارْزُقْنِي جَلِيسًا حَبِيبًا صَالِحًا فَسَمِعَهُ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ فَقَالَ لَئِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا لَأَنَا أَسْعَدُ بِمَا قُلْتَ مِنْكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ {فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِنَفْسِهِ} [فاطر 32] قَالَ الظَّالِمُ يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهُ فِي مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ الْهَمُّ وَالْحَزَنُ {وَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ} [فاطر 32] قَالَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا {وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ} [فاطر 32] قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ  

ahmad:27506ʿAli b. Baḥr > Baqiyyah > Thābit b. ʿAjlān > al-Qāsim a freed slave of Banī Yazīd > Abū al-Dardāʾ > a man Mar Bih / Yaghris Ghars Bidimashq

[Machine] A man passed by him while he was planting a tree in Damascus, so he said to him, "Why are you doing this while you are the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He replied, "Do not rush me. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever plants a tree, it will not be eaten from by any human being or animal from the creation of Allah ﷻ except that it will be a charity for him.' Abdullah said, 'My father said, "Al-Ashja'i, meaning Sufyan, narrated from Al-A'mash, from Abu Ziyad."' I entered the mosque of Damascus."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٦حَدَّثَنَا عَلِىُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ مَوْلَى بَنِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ يَغْرِسُ غَرْسًا بِدِمَشْقَ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَتَفْعَلُ هَذَا وَأَنْتَ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ لَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيَّ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ غَرَسَ غَرْسًا لَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ آدَمِيٌّ وَلَا خَلْقٌ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللهِ ﷻ إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ صَدَقَةً قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ أَبِي قَالَ الْأَشْجَعِيُ يَعْنِي عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْالْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي زِيَادٍ دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ  

ahmad:27507Aswad b. ʿĀmir > Isrāʾīl > ʿĀṣim > Muḥammad b. Sīrīn > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "O Abu Dardaa, do not single out the night of Friday for optional prayers without also praying during other nights, and do not single out the day of Friday for fasting without also fasting on other days."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٧حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ لَا تَخْتَصَّ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِقِيَامٍ دُونَ اللَّيَالِي وَلَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِصِيَامٍ دُونَ الْأَيَّامِ  

ahmad:27508Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > ʿAmr b. Murrah > Sālim b. Abū al-Jaʿd > Um al-Dardāʾ > Abū al-Dardāʾ

The Prophet ﷺ said: Shall I not inform you of something more excellent in degree than fasting, prayer and almsgiving (sadaqah)? The people replied: Yes, Prophet of Allah! He said: It is putting things right between people, spoiling them is the shaver (destructive). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4919)  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَفْضَلَ مِنْ دَرَجَةِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَالصَّدَقَةِ؟ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ إِصْلَاحُ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ قَالَ وَفَسَادُ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ هِيَ الْحَالِقَةُ  

ahmad:27509Abū Muʿāwiyah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever hears a statement from a person that he does not wish to be mentioned from him, then it is a trust, even if he does not conceal it."  

أحمد:٢٧٥٠٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ حَدِيثًا لَا يَشْتَهِي أَنْ يُذْكَرَ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَكْتِمْهُ  

ahmad:27510ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Dhakwān > a man > Abū al-Dardāʾ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said regarding the verse {For them there is good news in the worldly life and in the Hereafter} [Yunus: 64], he said: A righteous dream is seen by a Muslim or seen for him.  

أحمد:٢٧٥١٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ} [يونس 64] قَالَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ

[Machine] There was among us a man whose mother insisted that he not get married until he did. So, he got married and then she ordered him to leave her and he traveled to Abu Darda in Sham. He said, "My mother did not cease (insisting) until I got married and then she ordered me to leave." He said, "What is it that I order you to leave and what is it that I order you to hold onto? I heard the Messenger of Allah say, 'The parent is the middle of the gates of Paradise, so keep to that gate or protect it.'" So, he returned to her after having left her.  

أحمد:٢٧٥١١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ فِينَا رَجُلٌ لَمْ تَزَلْ بِهِ أُمُّهُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ حَتَّى تَزَوَّجَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَتْهُ أَنْ يُفَارِقَهَا فَرَحَلَ إِلَى أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمِّي لَمْ تَزَلْ بِي حَتَّى تَزَوَّجْتُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَتْنِي أَنْ أُفَارِقَ قَالَ مَا أَنَا بِالَّذِي آمُرُكَ أَنْ تُفَارِقَ وَمَا أَنَا بِالَّذِي آمُرُكَ أَنْ تُمْسِكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْوَالِدُ أَوْسَطُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ فَأَضِعْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابَ أَوْ احْفَظْهُ قَالَ فَرَجَعَ وَقَدْ فَارَقَهَا

[Machine] About Sinan, they would designate him and focus on him in the land, and he would wake up having killed the fox. Do you think it is his knack? I said I sat with Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and there was an old man with white hair and beard from the people of Sham (Levant). So I asked him about that. He said to me, "Do you eat fox?" I said, "I have never eaten it, but some people from my tribe eat it." He said, "The eating of it is not permitted." The old man said, "O Abdullah, shall I narrate to you a hadeeth I heard from Abu Darda' narrating it from the Prophet ﷺ ?" I said, "Yes." He said, "I heard Abu Darda' say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade every thievery, loot, aggression, and every fanged beast." Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib said, "He speaks the truth"  

أحمد:٢٧٥١٢حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ السَّعْدِيِّ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي نَاسٌ مِنْ قَوْمِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ

عَنْ سِنَانٍ يُحَدِّدُونَهُ وَيُرَكِّزُونَهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيُصْبِحُ وَقَدْ قَتَلَ الضَّبُعَ أَتُرَاهُ ذَكَاتَهُ؟ قَالَ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَإِذَا عِنْدَهُ شَيْخٌ أَبْيَضُ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ لِي وَإِنَّكَ لَتَأْكُلُ الضَّبُعَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ مَا أَكَلْتُهَا قَطُّ وَإِنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ قَوْمِي لَيَأْكُلُونَهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَكْلَهَا لَا يَحِلُّ قَالَ فَقَالَ الشَّيْخُ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِي خِطْفَةٍ وَعَنْ كُلِّ نُهْبَةٍ وَعَنْ كُلِّ مُجَثَّمَةٍ وَعَنْ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ قَالَ فَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ صَدَقَ
