the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah will not take away knowledge by removing it from people (from their hearts). Rather He will take away knowledge by taking away the scholars, then when there are no scholars left, the people will take the ignorant as their leaders. They will be asked questions and they will issue verdicts without knowledge, thus they will go astray and lead others astray.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 52)
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Acquire knowledge before it disappears." They asked, "How does knowledge disappear, O Prophet of Allah, when we have the Book of Allah among us?" He became angry and then said, "May your mothers lose you! Wasn't the Torah and the Gospel among the children of Israel? Yet they did not benefit from them at all. The disappearance of knowledge is when its carriers vanish."
[Machine] "People will continue to be in good as long as the first one remains to learn or teach the other. But if the first one dies before teaching or learning from the other, people perish."
[Machine] "Do you know where knowledge has gone?" We said, "No." He said, "The departure of the scholars."
[Machine] I said, "Like how a garment is shaken off and how a coin is hardened." He said, "No, and indeed this is the way the knowledge is seized from the scholars."
[Machine] Why do I see your scholars go while your ignorant ones do not learn? Learn before knowledge is lifted, for the lifting of knowledge is the departure of scholars.
[Machine] "People are knowledgeable and educated, and there is no good in anything after that."
[Machine] The teacher of goodness and the learner in reward are equal, and there is no better (reward) for the rest of the people.
[Machine] "Be a scholar, a learner, or a listener, and do not be the fourth, for it will lead to your destruction."
[Machine] Salman said, "People will continue to be in good as long as the first person learns, and when the first person dies before the last person learns, people will perish."
[Machine] "People excelled in building during the time of Umar, so Umar said, 'O tribe of Arabs, the land, the land! There is no Islam without a community, and there is no community without leadership, and there is no leadership without obedience. Whoever guides his people towards understanding will have a good life for himself and his people, and whoever leads his people astray from understanding will bring destruction upon himself and his people.'"
