[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most knowledgeable among the people?" He said, "The one who gathers the knowledge of the people to his own knowledge, and every seeker of knowledge is a branch extended towards knowledge."  

الدارمي:٢٩٣أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شِبْلٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمُ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ جَمَعَ عِلْمَ النَّاسِ إِلَى عِلْمِهِ وَكُلُّ طَالِبِ عِلْمٍ غَرْثَانُ إِلَى عِلْمٍ»
