[Machine] "Mujahid said: 'Beauty is ropes.' 'Bow down' they prayed, 'do not bow down' they do not pray. Ibn Abbas was asked: 'They do not speak,' 'By Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists.' 'Today we seal,' so he said: 'Indeed, it is of many colors. Sometimes they speak, and sometimes it is sealed upon them.'"

While we were with Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a cave, Surat "Wal Mursalat" was revealed to him and we received it directly from his mouth as soon as he had received the revelation. Suddenly a snake came out and Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Get at it and kill it!" We ran to kill it but it outstripped us. Allah's Apostle said, "It has escaped your evil, as you too, have escaped its."

(regarding) the explanation of "... It throws sparks as Al-Qasr ..." (V. 77:32): We used to collect logs of wood, three cubits long or longer, to store for heating purposes in winter, and we used to call it Al- Qasr, it also means a castle or a fort. "As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)" (V.77:33): means the ropes of a ship which are made in bundles till it become as wide as men's waists.

[Machine] Mujahid said, "They do not hope for an account, they do not fear it. They do not possess any speech from Him except if He permits them." And Ibn Abbas said, "Glaring, illuminating. Sufficient, adequate recompense. He gave me more than what I had estimated, meaning, He sufficed me."

Abu Huraira said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Between the two sounds of the trumpet, there will be forty." Somebody asked Abu Huraira, "Forty days?" But he refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty months?" He refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty years?" Again, he refused to reply. Abu Huraira added. "Then (after this period) Allah will send water from the sky and then the dead bodies will grow like vegetation grows, There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection." (See Hadith No. 338)

65.79 Surat an-Nazi’at (Those Angles Stripping out Souls)

٦٥۔٧٩ سورة {وَالنَّازِعَاتِ}

[Machine] And Mujahid said: "Al-Ayah al-Kubra" refers to his staff and his hand. It is said "an-Nakhirah" and "an-Nakhirah", meaning the same as "at-Tamie'" and "at-Tamie'" (the greedy) and "al-Bakheel" and "al-Bakheel" (the stingy). Some of them said "an-Nakhirah" refers to an empty vessel and "an-Nakhirah" refers to a hollow bone that the wind passes through and erodes. Ibn Abbas said: "al-Hafirah" refers to the first thing that our Lord commanded us with, which is life. And others said: "Ayana Mursaha" means when will it end, and "Mursa al-Safinah" refers to where it ends.

65.80 Surat ‘Abasa (He Frowned)

[Machine] {In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. "He frowned and turned away, because the blind man came to him. But what would make you perceive, O Muhammad, that perhaps he might be purified or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? As for he who thinks himself without need, to him you give attention. And not upon you, O Muhammad, is [responsibility for] their guidance. But whoever purifies himself, then he purifies only for [the benefit of] himself. And to Allah is the [final] destination." (Quran 80:1-8).}

The verse describes the Prophet Muhammad's reaction when a blind man came to seek his guidance. The Prophet frowned and turned away from the blind man. Allah then revealed this verse to correct the Prophet's behavior and remind him of the importance of showing kindness and respect to all people, regardless of their social status or physical abilities. The verse also highlights the concept of personal purification and how it is ultimately beneficial for oneself.

The first of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who came to us (in Medina), were Musʿab bin ʿUmar and Ibn Um Maktum, and they started teaching us the Qur'an. Then came ʿAmmar, Bilal and Saʿd. Afterwards ʿUmar bin Al-Kkattab came along with a batch of twenty (men): and after that the Prophet ﷺ came. I never saw the people of Medina so pleased with anything as they were with his arrival, so that even the little boys and girls were saying, "This is Messenger of Allah ﷺ who has come." He (the Prophet ﷺ ) did not come (to Medina) till I had learnt Surat Al-Ala and also other similar Suras.

[Machine] "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And Ibn Abbas said: 'Amilah Naseebah' refers to the Christians. And Mujahid said: 'Ain Aniyah' refers to the intensity of its thirst and it has reached its drinking point. 'Hameem An' has reached its boiling point and you will not hear any nonsense in it. Ad-Dhari' is a plant known as Ash-Shibriq which people of Hijaz name it when it dries up. And it is poison. 'Bimusa'tir' means under control or under authority, and it is pronounced with a 'sad' and 'seen'. And Ibn Abbas said: 'Iyabahum' means their return."

'Eram, the city of lofty pillars, the ancient, and the pillars are the people of a pillar, who do not establish (their faith).'Whip of a severe punishment' with which they were tortured. 'A gut full of worms' as food, they were made to eat (in Hell). And Mujahid said: 'Everything that Allah created is a Shafa'a (mediating companion), the sky is a Shafa'a, and Al-Watr is Allah, blessed and exalted.' And someone else said: 'Whip of a severe punishment' is a word that Arabs use for every type of punishment that involves whipping. 'At the observation post' is their destination. 'You guard' means you protect, and they command feeding her. 'The satisfied one' is the one who believes in the reward. And Al-Hasan said: 'O soul!' When Allah, the Almighty, intends to take it (the soul), it feels tranquil towards Allah, and Allah feels tranquil towards it, and it becomes content with Allah. So, He orders for its soul to be taken, and Allah admits it to Paradise, and makes it among His righteous servants. And someone else said: 'They dug' means they made a hole in the pocket of the shirt, and a pocket was torn for him. He wanders in the desert, cutting it off completely. I found him at the end (of my journey)."

And (by) the father, Adam, and what (his) offspring (were burdened with), there is much weariness. And (the regions of) Najd, (are) both good and bad. A famine-stricken (land) and a dusty (land) that falls into the soil. It is said, 'So he did not succeed in conquering the difficult obstacle.' So he did not succeed in conquering the difficult obstacle in this worldly life. Then he explained the difficult obstacle and said, 'And what do you know what the difficult obstacle is? It is the freeing of a slave or feeding (people) on a day with famine. (Meaning) in a difficult time.' In (the context of) toil."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited:-- 'When, the most wicked man among them went forth (to hamstrung the she-camel).' (91.12.) Then he said, "A tough man whose equal was rare and who enjoyed the protection of his people, like Abi Zama went forth to (hamstrung) it." The Prophet ﷺ then mentioned about the women (in his sermon). "It is not wise for anyone of you to lash his wife like a slave, for he might sleep with her the same evening." Then he advised them not to laugh when somebody breaks wind and said, "Why should anybody laugh at what he himself does?"

I went to Sham with a group of the companions of ʿAbdullah (bin Masʿud). Abu Ad-Darda' heard of our arrival so he came to us and said, "Is there anybody among you who can recite (Qur'an)" We replied in the affirmative. Then he asked, "Who is the best reciter?" They pointed at me. Then he told me to recite, so I recited the verse:-- 'By the night as it envelops 'By the day as it appears in brightness; By (Him Who created) male and the female.' (92.1-3) Abu Ad-Darda' then said to me, "Did you hear it (like this) from the mouth of your friend (ʿAbdullah bin Masʿud)?" I said, "Yes." He said, "I too, heard it (like this) from the mouth of the Prophet, but these people do not consider this recitation as the correct one."

While we were in a funeral procession in Baqi Al-Gharqad, Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and sat down, and we sat around him. He had a small stick in his hand and he bent his head and started scraping the ground with it. He then said, "There is none among you, and no created soul but has his place written for him either in Paradise or in the Hell-Fire, and also has his happy or miserable fate (in the Hereafter) written for him." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Shall we depend upon what is written for us and give up doing (good) deeds? For whoever among us is destined to be fortunate (in the Hereafter), will join the fortunate peoples and whoever among us is destined to be miserable will do such deeds as are characteristic of the people who are destined to misery." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Those who are destined to be happy (in the Hereafter) will find it easy and pleasant to do the deeds characteristic of those destined to happiness, while those who are to be among the miserable (in the Hereafter), will find it easy to do the deeds characteristic of those destined to misery." Then he recited: 'As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and believes in the Best reward from Allah,' (92.5-6)

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ became sick and could not offer his night prayer (Tahajjud) for two or three nights. Then a lady (the wife of Abu Lahab) came and said, "O Muhammad! I think that your Satan has forsaken you, for I have not seen him with you for two or three nights!" On that Allah revealed: 'By the fore-noon, and by the night when it darkens, your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither forsaken you, nor hated you.' (93.1-3)

65.94 Surat ash-Sharh (Uplifting the Heart)

٦٥۔٩٤ سورة {أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ}

[Machine] "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful."

And Mujahid said: "Wizrak" in the pre-Islamic era meant "to pass through." "Anqada" means to "make lighter," as well as "with difficulty comes ease." Ibn Uyaynah said it means that with that difficulty comes another ease, just like his statement: "Do you await for us except one of the two best things?" and "hardship will not overcome two eases." And Mujahid said: "Fanseb" means "rely on" or "depend on" your need to your Lord. And it is mentioned from Ibn Abbas that "Alam nashrah" means "did We not expand," meaning Allah opened his heart to Islam.

Mujahid said: "{He] called him" refers to his tribe. "{In Zaghnaya}" refers to the angels. Ma'mar said: "{The return}" refers to the return. "{We will take vengeance}" he said: "We will take [and] we will take with the Nun, which is the light one. I took [it] with his hand, I took [it]."

(the wife of the Prophet) The commencement (of the Divine Inspiration) to Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the form of true dreams in his sleep, for he never had a dream but it turned out to be true and clear as the bright daylight. Then he began to like seclusions, so he used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship Allah continuously for many nights before going back to his family to take the necessary provision (of food) for the stay. He come back to (his wife) Khadija again to take his provision (of food) likewise, till one day he received the Guidance while he was in the cave of Hira. An Angel came to him and asked him to read. Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "I do not know how to read." The Prophet ﷺ added, "Then the Angel held me (forcibly) and pressed me so hard that I felt distressed. Then he released me and again asked me to read, and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he held me again and pressed me for the second time till I felt distressed. He then released me and asked me to read, but again I replied. 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he held me for the third time and pressed me till I got distressed, and then he released me and said, 'Read, in the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists), has created man out of a clot, Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous. Who has taught (the writing) by the pen, has taught man that which he knew not." (96.1-5). Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned with that experience; and the muscles between his neck and shoulders were trembling till he came upon Khadija (his wife) and said, "Cover me!" They covered him, and when the state of fear was over, he said to Khadija, "O Khadija! What is wrong with me? I was afraid that something bad might happen to me." Then he told her the story. Khadija said, "Nay! But receive the good tidings! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you, for by Allah, you keep good relations with your Kith and kin, speak the truth, help the poor and the destitute, entertain your guests generously and assist those who are stricken with calamities." Khadija then took him to Waraqa bin Naufil, the son of Khadija's paternal uncle. Waraqa had been converted to Christianity in the Pre-lslamic Period and used to write Arabic and write of the Gospel in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said (to Waraqa), "O my cousin! Listen to what your nephew is going to say." Waraqa said, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" The Prophet ﷺ then described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same Angel (Gabriel) who was sent to Moses. I wish I were young." He added some other statement. Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Will these people drive me out?" Waraqa said, "Yes, for nobody brought the like of what you have brought, but was treated with hostility. If I were to remain alive till your day (when you start preaching). then I would support you strongly." But a short while later Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was paused (stopped) for a while so that Messenger of Allah ﷺ was very much grieved.

While Messenger of Allah ﷺ was talking about the period of pause in revelation. he said in his narration. "Once while I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw to my surprise, the same Angel as had visited me in the cave of Hira.' He was sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, Wrap me! Wrap me!" So they covered him and then Allah revealed: 'O you, wrapped up! Arise and warn and your Lord magnify, and your garments purify and dessert the idols.' (74.1-5) Abu Salama said, "(Rijz) are the idols which the people of the Pre-lslamic period used to worship." After this the revelation started coming frequently and regularly.

65.97 Surat al-Qadr (The Night of Glory)

[Machine] It is said that "al-matla" means "al-tuloo" means the rising, and "al-matli'" refers to the place from which something rises. {We have revealed it} The letter "ha" is an indication in the Qur'an that it was revealed. "Makharaj al-jami'" means the place from which everything comes out, and "al-munzil" refers to Allah. The Arabs emphasize the verb of the singular and make it in the form of the plural, in order for it to be more steadfast and more confirmed.

bukhari:4962Ismāʿīl b. ʿAbdullāh > Mālik > Zayd b. Aslam > Abū Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān > Abū Hurayrah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, " Horses are kept for one of three purposes: A man may keep them (for Allah's Cause) to receive a reward in the Hereafter; another may keep them as a means of protection; and a third may keep them to be a burden for him. As for the man for whom the horse is a source of reward, he is the one who ties it for Allah's Cause, and he ties it with a long rope in a pasture or a garden, then, whatever it eats or drinks in that pasture or garden will be added to his good deeds. And if it breaks its rope and jumps over one or two hills, then, for all its footsteps and its manure, good deeds will be written for him. And if it passes by a river and drinks of its water though its owner had no intention to water it from that river, even then he will have good deeds written for him. So that horse will be (a source of) reward for such a man. If a man ties a horse for earning his livelihood and abstaining from asking others for help and he does not forget Allah's right, i.e. pays its Zakat and gives it to be used in Allah's Cause, then that horse will be a means of protection for him. But if a man ties it out of pride and to show off and to excite others, then that horse will be a burden (of sins) for him." Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked regarding donkeys. He replied, "Nothing has been revealed to me except this comprehensive Verse which includes everything: 'So whoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant) shall see it; and whoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant) shall see it.' It is said: "To you is your religion": disbelief, "and to me is my religion," Islam. And it is not said 'To me is my religion' because the letter "yāʾ" was dropped as in the phrases "yahdīn" (he guides me) and "yashfīn" (he cures me).

And someone else said: "I do not worship what you worship." presently, and I will not accept your calling for the rest of my life, "nor are you worshippers of what I worship." And they are the ones who said: "And they will surely increase in them much of what has been revealed to you from your Lord, in tyranny and disbelief" (Māʾidah 5:68).

ʿUmar asked the people regarding Allah's Statement: 'When comes the Help of Allah (to you O Muhammad against your enemies) and the conquest of Mecca.' (110.1) They replied, "It indicates the future conquest of towns and palaces (by Muslims)." ʿUmar said, "What do you say about it, O Ibn ʿAbbas?" ʿUmar used to make me sit with the elderly men who had fought in the Battle of Badr. Some of them felt it (did not like that) and said to ʿUmar "Why do you bring in this boy to sit with us while we have sons like him?" ʿUmar replied, "Because of what you know of his position (i.e. his religious knowledge.)" One day ʿUmar called me and made me sit in the gathering of those people; and I think that he called me just to show them. (my religious knowledge). ʿUmar then asked them (in my presence). "What do you say about the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: 'When comes Help of Allah (to you O, Muhammad against your enemies) and the conquest (of Mecca).' (110.1) Some of them said, "We are ordered to praise Allah and ask for His forgiveness when Allah's Help and the conquest (of Mecca) comes to us." Some others kept quiet and did not say anything. On that, ʿUmar asked me, "Do you say the same, O Ibn ʿAbbas?" I replied, "No." He said, 'What do you say then?" I replied, "That is the sign of the death of Messenger of Allah ﷺ which Allah informed him of. Allah said:-- '(O Muhammad) When comes the Help of Allah (to you against your enemies) and the conquest (of Mecca) (which is the sign of your death). You should celebrate the praises of your Lord and ask for His Forgiveness, and He is the One Who accepts the repentance and forgives.' (110.3) On that ʿUmar said, "I do not know anything about it other than what you have said."

The people said, "Who is that?" "Then they gathered around him, whereupon he said, "Do you see? If I inform you that cavalrymen are proceeding up the side of this mountain, will you believe me?" They said, "We have never heard you telling a lie." Then he said, "I am a plain warner to you of a coming severe punishment." Abu Lahab said, "May you perish! You gathered us only for this reason? " Then Abu Lahab went away. So the "Surat:--ul--LAHAB" 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab!' (111.1) was revealed.

As for his telling a lie against Me, it is his saying that I will not recreate him as I created him for the first time. In fact, the first creation was not easier for Me than new creation. As for his abusing Me, it is his saying that Allah has begotten children, while I am the One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need, I beget not, nor was I begotten, and there is none like unto Me."
