65.80 Surat ‘Abasa (He Frowned)
٦٥۔٨٠ سورة عَبَسَ
[Machine] {In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. "He frowned and turned away, because the blind man came to him. But what would make you perceive, O Muhammad, that perhaps he might be purified or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? As for he who thinks himself without need, to him you give attention. And not upon you, O Muhammad, is [responsibility for] their guidance. But whoever purifies himself, then he purifies only for [the benefit of] himself. And to Allah is the [final] destination." (Quran 80:1-8).}
The verse describes the Prophet Muhammad's reaction when a blind man came to seek his guidance. The Prophet frowned and turned away from the blind man. Allah then revealed this verse to correct the Prophet's behavior and remind him of the importance of showing kindness and respect to all people, regardless of their social status or physical abilities. The verse also highlights the concept of personal purification and how it is ultimately beneficial for oneself.
