65.113 Surat al-Falaq (The Daybreak)

٦٥۔١١٣ سورة {قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ}

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

And Mujahid said: 'ghāsik' is when the night falls, and ʿidhā waqab' is the time of setting of the sun. It is said it is more apparent than 'faraq' (dawn) and the 'falaq' of the morning. And when it says 'waqab’, it means when it enters and everything becomes darker.

Two sūrahs of seeking protection were for the Prophet ﷺ

bukhari:4976Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Sufyān > ʿĀṣim And ʿAbdah > Zir b. Ḥubaysh

I asked Ubay b. Kaʿb regarding the two Muʿawwidhāt (Sūrahs of seeking refuge in Allah). He said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ about them and he said, "They are for me and I have ˹recited˺ them." Now, we ˹recite˺ as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ˹recited.˺"
