65.39 Surat az-Zumar (The Successive Groups) (contd …)

[Machine] And Mujahid said: "Is the one who fears because of his face dragged on his face in the Fire better or the one who enters it while being safe?" "Thi 'Aiwaj," (having a crooked leg) "is an attribute of falsehood, and the true God." "And they frighten you with those [worshippers of idols] other than Him," The idols we created. "And the one who brought the truth," the Quran. "And confirmed it," the believer who comes on the Day of Judgment saying, "This is what You have given me, I acted upon it." "They argue," the doubters who do not accept justice, "and a man who is peaceful," and he is called peaceful and righteous. "They will be humiliated" [with disgrace] when they fail to achieve victory. "Walking around" [circling] in their narrow sides, "looking alike" but not in resemblance, rather resembling each other in belief.

65.39.1 The Statement of Allah the Most High: Say: "O 'Ibādi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah..." (V39:53)

٦٥۔٣٩۔١ باب قَوْلِهِ {يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ}

bukhari:4810Ibrāhīm b. Mūsá > Hishām b. Yūsuf > Ibn Jurayj > Yaʿlá In Saʿīd b. Jubayr > Ibn ʿAbbās

Some pagans who committed murders in great number and committed illegal sexual intercourse excessively, came to Muhammad and said, "O Muhammad! Whatever you say and invite people to, is good: but we wish if you could inform us whether we can make an expiration for our (past evil) deeds." So the Divine Verses came: 'Those who invoke not with Allah any other god, not kill such life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse.' (25.68) And there was also revealed:-- 'Say: O My slaves who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah.' (39.53)

أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ كَانُوا قَدْ قَتَلُوا وَأَكْثَرُوا وَزَنَوْا وَأَكْثَرُوا فَأَتَوْا مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَقُولُ وَتَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ لَحَسَنٌ لَوْ تُخْبِرُنَا أَنَّ لِمَا عَمِلْنَا كَفَّارَةً فَنَزَلَ {وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلاَ يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ يَزْنُونَ} وَنَزَلَ {قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ}

65.39.2 The Statement of Allah the Most High: "They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him..." (V.39:67)

٦٥۔٣٩۔٢ باب قَوْلِهِ {وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ}

bukhari:4811Ādam > Shaybān > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > ʿAbīdah > ʿAbdullāh

A (Jewish) Rabbi came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "O Muhammad! We learn that Allah will put all the heavens on one finger, and the earths on one finger, and the trees on one finger, and the water and the dust on one finger, and all the other created beings on one finger. Then He will say, 'I am the King.' Thereupon the Prophet ﷺ smiled so that his pre-molar teeth became visible, and that was the confirmation of the Rabbi. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: 'They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him.' (39.67)

جَاءَ حَبْرٌ مِنَ الأَحْبَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّا نَجِدُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلُ السَّمَوَاتِ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ وَالأَرَضِينَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ وَالشَّجَرَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ وَالْمَاءَ وَالثَّرَى عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ وَسَائِرَ الْخَلاَئِقِ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ فَيَقُولُ أَنَا الْمَلِكُ فَضَحِكَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ تَصْدِيقًا لِقَوْلِ الْحَبْرِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ {وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ}

bukhari:4812Saʿīd b. ʿUfayr > al-Layth > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Khālid b. Musāfir > Ibn Shihāb > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Allah will hold the whole earth, and roll all the heavens up in His Right Hand, and then He will say, 'I am the King; where are the kings of the earth?"'

65.39.4 The Statement of Allah the Most High: "And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah wills..." (V.39:68)

٦٥۔٣٩۔٤ باب قَوْلِهِ {وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ إِلاَّ مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَى فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنْظُرُونَ}

bukhari:4813al-Ḥasan > Ismāʿīl b. Khalīl > ʿAbd al-Raḥīm > Zakariyyāʾ b. Abū Zāʾidah > ʿĀmir > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will be the first to raise my head after the second blowing of the trumpet and will see Moses hanging the Throne, and I will not know whether he had been in that state all the time or after the blowing of the trumpet."

bukhari:4814ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ from my father > al-Aʿmash > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Between the two blowing of the trumpet there will be forty." The people said, "O Abu Huraira! Forty days?" I refused to reply. They said, "Forty years?" I refused to reply and added: Everything of the human body will decay except the coccyx bone (of the tail) and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body.
