4.71 [Machine] Do not interlace his fingers when he goes out to pray.

٤۔٧١ بَابُ لَا يُشَبِّكُ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ

bayhaqi:5881Abū Ḥāmid Aḥmad b. al-Walīd b. Aḥmad al-Zawzanī > Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Shāfiʿī > ʿAbdullāh b. Rawḥ al-Madāyinī > ʿUthmān b. ʿUmar > Dāwud b. Qays > Saʿd b. Isḥāq > Abū Thumāmah al-Ḥannāṭ > Adrakanī Kaʿb b. ʿUjrah > Bi-al-Balāṭ Mutawajjih > al-Masjid Mushabbik Bayn Aṣābiʿī

AbuThumamah al-Hannat said that Ka'b ibn Ujrah met him while he was going to the mosque; one of the two (companions) met his companion (on his way to the mosque) And he met crossing the fingers of my both hands. He prohibited me to do so, and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: If any of you performs ablution, and performs his ablution perfectly, and then goes out intending for the mosque, he should not cross the fingers of his hand because he is already in prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 562)

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "When one of you performs ablution and then comes to the mosque, he should not interlace his fingers, as he is in a state of prayer, and likewise..."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you performs ablution and then goes out for prayer, he is in a state of prayer. So, none of you should interlock his fingers after performing ablution or after entering into prayer." Shabbaba narrated from Ibn Abi Dhi'b, from Al-Maqburi, from a man from Banu Sulaym, who reported that he informed him about his father, from Ka'b, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "None of you should contradict the fingers of his hands during prayer." And it was also narrated from a man from Banu Salim, and this narration is disputed by Sa'id, as it was reported from him like this, and it was reported from him through Ka'b, and it was reported from him through a man from Ka'b, and it was reported from him through Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'b, and it was also narrated from Ibn 'Ajlan, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, and the correct opinion is that it was narrated from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Sa'id Al-Maqburiyy, according to the three different paths.

[Machine] "Do not interlace your fingers, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from interlacing our fingers during prayer. So I said, 'But I am not in prayer.' He said, 'Did you not perform ablution and come out intending to pray?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then you are in prayer.' This hadith was also narrated by 'Isa ibn Yunus from Sa'eed al-Maqburi from Abu Thumamah. The narration goes back to Sa'eed al-Maqburi from Abu Thumamah who said, 'The scholar stated regarding this that the prohibition of interlacing fingers indeed occurred during prayer, and that Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah entered the mosque while his fingers were interlaced, based on what is mentioned in the evidence. And it has been narrated from another chain of narrators from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah with the same wording."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "O Ka'b, when you perform ablution and perfect it, then go out to the mosque, do not intertwine your fingers, for indeed you are in prayer." This hadith has a sound chain of narration, if it was Al-Hasan bin Ali Ar-Raqqi who narrated it, this is his preservation, and I did not find it in what he reported.
