31. Musnad of Women (7/26)
I started with the names of the daughters and wives of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from the narrations of the women that have reached us.
I listed their names in alphabetical order. I began with the daughters of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his wives so that no one would precede them. Fatimah, the youngest daughter of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the one he loved the most, was listed first out of love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and her, as these are the daughters of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .
[Machine] In His saying "Allah advises you to never return to the like of it," He said, "He forbids you."
31.18 [Machine] Interpretation of His saying, "Allah advises you to never return to it, if you are believers.
٣١۔١٨ بَابُ تَأْوِيلِ قَوْلِهِ {يَعِظُكُمُ اللهُ أَنُ تَعُودُوا لِمِثْلِهِ أَبَدًا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ}
[Machine] In His saying "Allah advises you to never return to the like of it"
فِي قَوْلِهِ {§يَعِظُكُمُ اللهُ أَنْ تَعُودُوا لِمِثْلِهِ أَبَدًا}
[Machine] Ibn Abbas said, "And Allah clarifies for you the verses" [referring to] the verses that He revealed concerning Aisha and Al-Baraa [regarding the accusation of adultery]. "And Allah is Knowing, Wise" [meaning] He knows what is in your hearts regarding regret for what you have engaged in, and He is Wise in His judgment regarding the punishment of eighty lashes for false accusation.
31.18.1 Subsection
٣١۔١٨۔١ قَوْلُهُ {وَيُبَيِّنُ اللهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ وَاللهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ}
[Machine] Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated, "And Allah makes clear to you the signs," meaning "the warnings that have been mentioned."
[Machine] "To spread obscenity among those who believe, desiring honor and virtue for the believing men and women, they will have a painful punishment. He desires hardship for them in this world and in the Hereafter. He desires humiliation for them in the world and punishment in the Fire in the Hereafter. And Allah knows, while you do not know. He desires to inform you of what you have entered into and what is in it of the severity of the punishment, and you do not know the severity of Allah's anger upon those who commit such acts."
[Machine] From Mujahid, in his saying {Verily, those who love that indecency should be spread among the believers}, it appears in a Hadith concerning the matter of Aisha.
[Machine] About Qatadah in his saying "Indeed, those who love for immorality to be spread among the believers, for them is a painful punishment" meaning "adultery".
[Machine] "To spread and manifest fornication" (among those who believe) means "Safwan and Aisha" (they will have a painful punishment) means "hunger" (in this world and the Hereafter) so the punishment of Abdullah bin Ubayy in this world was severe and in the Hereafter it will be the punishment of fire. And Allah knows, and you do not know.
«أَنْ يَفْشُوَ وَيَظْهَرَ الزِّنَا» {فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا} يَعْنِي «صَفْوَانَ وَعَائِشَةَ» {لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ} يَعْنِي «وَجِيعٌ» {فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ} فَكَانَ عَذَابُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ فِي الدُّنْيَا الْحَدَّ وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابَ النَّارِ {وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ}
31.18.2 Subsection
[Machine] Narrated by Qatadah regarding His saying, "Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed…" [24:19] - meaning, that adultery becomes apparent to them, the punishment of Hellfire will be for them.
[Machine] "And indeed, Allah is Compassionate, seeking from His mercy a mercifulness towards you when you repent and return to the truth."
31.19 [Machine] His saying "And if it Had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy and that Allah is Kind and Merciful.
٣١۔١٩ بَابُ قَوْلِهِ {وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللهُ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ}
[Machine] "And Allah is Ra'uf (kind and merciful), meaning He is kind to you when He forgives and does not punish you for what you say in terms of slander."
[Machine] "That He may turn to you in forgiveness, and Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing, due to your saying that He is knowledgeable about what is within yourselves of remorse and repentance."
31.20 [Machine] Interpretation of His saying ﷻ {O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan}
٣١۔٢٠ بَابُ تَأْوِيلِ قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ}
[Machine] On the authority of Sa'id ibn Jubayr: "O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan" – meaning, "the adornment of Satan which led to the slander of Aisha" – "And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan" – meaning, "the adornment of Satan" – "indeed, he enjoins immorality" – meaning, "sins" – "and wrongdoing" – meaning, "that which is not known" – "and if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy" – meaning, "His blessing" – "not one of you would have been pure" – meaning, "none of you would have been righteous ever" – "but Allah purifies whom He wills" – meaning, "he rectifies whom He wills."
[Machine] Narrated by Mujahid, in his saying {And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful}. Abu Bakr swore that an orphan would not benefit from his companionship, and this news spread, meaning it spread to Aisha. When this verse was revealed, Abu Bakr said, "I love that Allah may forgive me and I will be better to Him than I was."
[Machine] Narrated by Mujahid, in his statement "And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them.", Abu Bakr said, "Taking an oath does not benefit an orphan that was in his guardianship." Then Abdulkalik said, "It is Mistah ibn Athathah ibn Abb (a.k.a) ibn Muttalib."
[Machine] "That they should give to the near of kin, the orphans, and the needy in charity, and say to them a kind word. And let them pardon and overlook. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
"Indeed, I have designated in you, O Abu Bakr, virtues, and I have bestowed upon you ample capacity and knowledge of Allah, and knowledge of kinship. So, be compassionate, O Abu Bakr, towards a certain person, for he has kinship, migration, a dwelling, and scenes of battles that I am pleased with."
"Do you not love that Allah should forgive you?"
"He wants forgiveness, so forgive Masdah."
"And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
"He wants, indeed, I am forgiving to those who make a mistake, and merciful to my allies."
[Machine] In his saying (And let not those of virtue and abundance among you swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy), it is said that there were people from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who accused Aisha with something foul and spread it, talked about it, and some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ swore not to give charity to anyone who talks about such things and does not give to them. So Allah said, "Let not those of virtue and abundance among you swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy." He ordered them to join their kinship and give from their wealth as they used to do before that, so Allah commanded to forgive them and to pardon them.
[Machine] From Qatadah in his statement "and do not let those of virtue and abundance among you swear an oath" until his statement "and the poor" he says, "Those who have virtues and abundance among you should not swear an oath that they will not give to their relatives." Then from his statement "Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" this verse was revealed regarding a man from the Quraysh known as Mis'tah, who had a relationship with Abu Bakr. He was an orphan in Abu Bakr's care and he spread false rumors about Aisha. When Allah revealed her innocence and cleared her name to Abu Bakr, asking him not to support Mis'tah, Abu Bakr said, "Would you not love for Allah to forgive you?" Mis'tah replied, "Yes, I would." Abu Bakr then said, "Then pardon and overlook." Abu Bakr said, "Certainly, I will not prevent him from that with good conduct. Before this day, I was kind to him for your sake."
31.21 [Machine] Interpretation of His statement {And let not those of virtue among you and wealth hesitate [to give]}. Surah Al-Nur ayah
"Do not compete" meaning do not swear oaths "the people of virtue among you" meaning in wealth "and abundance in provision" meaning Abu Bakr "and let them pardon and overlook" meaning and let them forgive someone who is well-regarded "to give to their near relatives" meaning the near relative Mas'adah ibn Uthatha, for he was a relative of Abu Bakr's maternal cousin because Mas'adah was poor "and to the emigrants in the cause of Allah" because he was one of the emigrants "Do you not love" meaning Abu Bakr "that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful" meaning Forgiving of sins, Merciful towards the believers. So the Prophet ﷺ said to Abu Bakr, "Do you not love that Allah should forgive you?" Abu Bakr replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then pardon and overlook." Abu Bakr said, "I have pardoned and overlooked. I will not prevent him from good after today."

[Machine] From his statement "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women [of adultery] are cursed in this world and the Hereafter." Every person who accuses a chaste woman is cursed by Allah. He said, "No, rather this verse was revealed regarding the affair of Aisha."
[Machine] "Adultery," I said. Allah says, "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women..." He said, "This was revealed specifically about Aisha."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ whipped Hassan ibn Thabit, Abdullah ibn Ubayy, Mistah ibn Uthatha, and Hamnah bint Jahsh, each of them with eighty lashes, for accusing Aisha. Subsequently, they repented except for Abdullah ibn Ubayy among the hypocrites, who died as a hypocrite.
[Machine] Salama ibn Nubayt narrated from Dahhak ibn Muzahim who said that this verse was revealed specifically about the wives of the Prophet ﷺ: "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware and believing women [of adultery]" (Quran 24:23).
[Machine] About Qatadah's saying: "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women [of adultery] are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have a great punishment." He said: "This was revealed regarding the matter of Aisha."
[Machine] "From Ibn Abbas: 'Indeed, those who accuse chaste women, intending the pure women (to be accused), unaware (of what they are saying), believing women, intending the women of faith, they are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment. They (the accused) are to be removed from the faith.'"
[Machine] Regarding Ibn Abbas' statement on the verse "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have a great punishment." [Surah An-Nur, verse 23], it means that the hypocrites slandered the Prophet's wives, so Allah obligated curses and anger upon them, and they incurred the anger of Allah. All of this is in relation to the wives of the Prophet.
[Machine] Regarding the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: "Indeed those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women are cursed," this verse is specifically referring to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ. As for the one who accuses a woman from among the Muslims, then he is a sinful person, as Allah has stated, and he should either repent or face the consequences.
31.22 [Machine] Interpretation of the verse "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter.
[Machine] He read Surah an-Nur and interpreted it. When he came across this verse, "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have a great punishment" he said, "This refers to Aisha and the Prophet's wives, and for those who committed such acts, repentance was not made available. However, for those who slandered a woman who is not one of the Prophet's wives, repentance is available." Then he recited, "And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient." "Repentance is made available for these people." "Except for those who repent thereafter and reform, for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." "Repentance is made available for those who accuse a woman who is a believer, but not for those who accuse the Prophet's wives." Then he recited this verse, "Cursed in this world and the Hereafter and they will have a great punishment." "So some of the people understood to approach Ibn Abbas to kiss his head for his excellent interpretation."

[Machine] From Qatadah regarding his statement, "On that day, Allah will fully repay them their due religion, the truth." "The people of truth will receive their truthfulness, and the people of falsehood will receive their falsehood, and they know that Allah is the clear truth."

[Machine] "The good things are for the good people." This verse refers to Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, as one of the good things that Allah blessed His Messenger ﷺ with. Gabriel, ﷺ , brought her to him as a wife after Khadijah bint Khuwaylid passed away. Upon receiving her, the Prophet ﷺ was delighted and consoled by her. Then he said, "The good people are for the good women." This refers to Allah blessing His Messenger ﷺ with Aisha and making her the master of the descendants of Adam."

Abdullah ibn Ubayy was the evil one, so he was the one more deserving of having evil women, and they were more deserving of having him. 'They will have forgiveness' means protection in the present world and forgiveness in the hereafter. 'And a generous provision' means they desire the provision of Paradise and great rewards."

[Machine] From Mujahid's statement, "Those are acquitted from what they say." He said, "Thus, whoever is good, he is acquitted from every evil word he utters, which Allah forgives him for, and whoever is evil, he is acquitted from every good word he utters, which Allah rejects from him."
