31. Musnad of Women
[Machine] In his saying "{If only when you heard it, the believing men and believing women had thought well of one another}", some of them said to others, "Why don't you listen to his saying?"
[Machine] Ibn Abbas said, "If they did not bring forth four witnesses, they themselves, along with those who testified, would be regarded as liars. But since they did not present witnesses, they are indeed the ones who are lying before Allah." He intends to lie with his own eye.
[Machine] About Sa'id ibn Jubayr in his statement {If they do not produce witnesses, then it is they, in the sight of Allah, who are the liars.} meaning those who accused Aisha.
[Machine] "From Abu Sahr, he said: 'If they do not bring four witnesses for it, then they are the liars before Allah' ('whoever accuses a Muslim and does not bring four witnesses for it, then he is to receive the punishment of slander')."
[Machine] "From Ibn Abbas, 'And if it were not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy in the world and the Hereafter, He would have seized you for what you have put forth.' He means, 'If it were not for what Allah has bestowed upon you and what He has concealed for you.' 'He would have touched you for what you have put forth.' He means, 'He would have punished you severely.' 'He wants nothing but falsehood.' 'A great punishment.' 'He wants no interruption for Him.'"
[Machine] This is a passage from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and it says: If not for Allah's favor upon you and His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, there would be retribution that would befall upon you for what you have been engaging in, meaning the slander you have been spreading. It would be a great punishment that would afflict you in both this world and the Hereafter.
31.15.2 Subsection
٣١۔١٥۔٢ قَوْلُهُ {وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَفَضْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ}
[Machine] About Qatadah's saying, "And if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been touched by a great punishment for what you have put forth," he said, "This is regarding Aisha, and it is said that the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were almost destroyed because of it."
[Machine] "Narrated by Ibn Abbas, when you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, Allah says 'Allah knows its opposite.' And you think it is insignificant while it is great with Allah,' Allah says 'If you accuse the noble women, the mothers of the believers and the wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ of something that they did not do and it did not even occur in their hearts, while I created them pure and protected them from every impurity.'"
[Machine] "And I heard from so-and-so" (And you say with your mouths) meaning "with your tongues, meaning by spreading it" (what you have no knowledge of) meaning "without knowing that what you said about the accusation is true" (and you think it is insignificant) saying "and you think that accusing someone is an easy matter" (while it is with Allah great) meaning "in terms of sin."
[Machine] From Mujahid in his statement, "When you received it with your tongues," he said, "Some of you narrate it from others."
[Machine] This is the translation of the passage from Arabic to English:
From Mujahid in his saying, "When you received him" (referring to Prophet Muhammad), "You were showing him to each other."
[Machine] I heard Ibn Abi Muleika saying, "Aisha used to recite this verse, 'When you received it with your tongues,' and she would say, 'It is only a lie.' And Ibn Abi Muleika would say, 'She is more knowledgeable about it, as it was revealed concerning her.'"
