31. Musnad of Women
[Machine] "Whoever meddles in Aisha's affairs is as much involved as he meddles in his own affairs."
[Machine] She said: "Shall I inform you of a punishment worse than that? It is the punishment of those who are arrogant." The woman said: "I have not seen him, but he has surely been afflicted with a great punishment."
[Machine] "Allah (God) has a great punishment for those who turn away from Him. So she said, 'And what punishment is more severe than blindness?' He said, 'Verily, it is to oppose or attack the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .'
[Machine] Aisha said, "And what do you see in a great punishment? Surely, Hassan was inflicted with blindness."
[Machine] "Allah, and those who associate partners with Him, will have a great punishment. So Aisha said, 'Isn't he in a great punishment? His sight has gone.'"
[Machine] "God said in the recitation of Abdullah, 'And whoever turns away from His remembrance has a painful punishment.' Then she said, 'Isn't there punishment? His sight has been restrained.' Then he recited a couplet in his house: 'A sleek horse, not weighed down by any doubt, and it becomes a cluster of flesh in the morning from the meat of travelers.'"
[Machine] "And the one who took charge of his arrogance was Abdullah bin Ubayy."
[Machine] "By Ibn Abbas, {And by the one who turned away arrogantly}, he intends to publicize and spread it {among them}, Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul desires {a great punishment for him}. He intends in this worldly life to be beaten by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eighty times, and in the hereafter, his fate will be to go to the Hellfire."
[Machine] "Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul, Mus'ab ibn Uthatha, Hassan ibn Thabit, and Hamnah bint Jahsh were among those who supported his arrogance. And this was even more so before Abdullah ibn Ubayy."
[Machine] From Mujahid, in his saying: "And whoever turns away arrogantly from them, then for him is a severe punishment." Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul said, "
[Machine] "What is not pardoned from it, and what is not pardoned by it" [He will have] a great punishment. And in this verse is a lesson for all Muslims if there is a sin among them that someone helped with an action or speech, participated in it, or was pleased with it, then that person is also accountable for that sin to the extent of their involvement. And if there is a sin between Muslims, whoever witnessed it and disliked it is like one who is absent, and whoever was absent and pleased with it is like one who witnessed it.
